I’m relistening to the audiobook of Emily Wilde’s and the more I hear about degray and icorn (idk how their names are spelt since audiobook) the more I want to read a book about them as well
And the hints of the academic drama at Cambridge?? I love it. It reminds me about how different departments have drama at my college that I hear about
Heather Fawcett did a great job with the casual world building and I literally cannot wait for the next book. I’m gonna keep relistening until I can afford to buy the book, then I’m gonna reread it til I can get the next
I’m also gonna keep posting my thoughts because I haven’t enjoyed a book this month in years
More sketches!! All scenes from howls moving castle or Emily Wilde’s encyclopaedia of faeries (i also doodled Howl and Sophie dancing because I thought it’d be cute)
I’m also so fricken excited!!! My copy of Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries finally got here yesterday!!!!
I love the footnotes
I love that heather fawcett used this font, also that’s such a cool fun fact like
SPOILER
One of my favorite scenes between Emily and Wendell because like
Even though it’s from her perspective you can’t tell if she’s being serious or just antagonizing him and like I think that’s beautiful lol
more Emily and Wendell because I can’t get enough of them💚 (featuring Shadow and Poe🥹)

Latest Sketch-a-Wish voted on by my lovely Patreon members for August! Inspired by Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands (Emily Wilde #2) by Heather Fawcett, featuring Emily and Wendell in some morning afterglow. I love how Emily is being indecisive about doing the traditional romantic things before Wendell wakes, but then he cuddles up with her anyway, deciding for her. Too cute. I kept his bedhead just for you, Em.
She’s in the habit of writing for academic audiences. How else would it pass peer review?
Shows what an excellent dryadologist and academic she is.
I gotta give it to Emily Wilde, she said this bitch Wendell Bambleby ain't normal and proceeded to cite her sources.
Perhaps it is always restful to be around someone who does not expect anything from you beyond what is in your nature.

But the reality is that one would have to be an utter idiot to marry one of the Folk. There are perhaps a handful of stories in which such a union ends well and a mountain of them in which it ends in madness or an untimely and unpleasant death. I am also, of course, constantly aware of the ridiculousness of my being the object of a marriage offering by a faerie monarch.
"'Dear Emily,' he said as I sat down, not troubling to lift his head from his hand but smiling at me slantwise. 'You look as if you've come from a wrestling match with one of your books. May I ask who won?'"
birthday boy got poisoned :(((
