The first thing Ingo did was apologize. Apologize that the brother Emmet had had was no more, as dead to the world as the Pearl Clan were now. That he was not the same person Emmet had lost. Emmet smiled. “Neither am I.” Grief had shaped them both into other people, different than they once had been.
