All sass and overprotectiveness lol, and you can bet that as soon as he was in eyeline of nardo, he switched it up! And nardo has no clue how mean leo can be to people around him specifically, my poor boy-
Like, imagine if peepaw found out what Leo's been doing for months now?? He'd be mortified! (Even if he'd 100% laugh about it later/in private) And would probably pester leo about apologizing to Eshra
Though as much as he'd like to pester leo about apologizing to everyone else.. that's a bit difficult, lol-
I woke up to this, and it immediately made my day! :)
A short, goofy drabble I was inspired to write featuring my Eshra and @lukas6246's peepaw and Lil Leo. Totally non-canon (call it an AU to both AUs) but the potential for shenanigans was too good to ignore.
"I'm on to you."
Eshra cracks open one eye to study the teenager looming over him where he reclines at the cafe's patio table with his clawed feet kicked up… and how annoying is it that a kid not even half his age can loom over him? The so-called-yokai gives the tufted tip of his tail a mildly irritated flick and doesn't answer. That's fine, because Leo doesn't seem to need one.
"You think you're slick, always touching him and batting those eyelashes." Eshra blinks, and Leo points at him accusingly. "Yeah, like that! Well, I know what you're up to, you-- you hussy, and if you think I'm going to let you get all cozy and handsy with my brother--"
Leo continues ranting, and Eshra lets it go in one ear and right out the other, his honey-gold gaze sliding past the teenager to where the mutant in question is browsing a rack of clothes outside a nearby boutique. The sight of him makes Eshra smile into the over-caffeinated sugar bomb he calls coffee, his heart and crest both giving a little twitterpated quiver.
"Stop that!"
Eshra finds his line of sight abruptly cut off by one supremely irritated teenaged turtle, his eyes narrowed and his arms folded across his plastron.
"Stop what?" the yokai asks innocently, sipping his coffee.
"This!" Leo shoves both hands in Eshra's direction as though indicating the whole of him. "This whole…"
"Situation?" Eshra supplies helpfully.
"Ugh." Leo stomps away to join his older self in front of the boutique, leaving Eshra to observe them both and fight the urge to burst out laughing.
This is going to be the most fun he's had in years.
I lost motivation to finish this after the second outfit
then @so-called-yokai 's oc Eshra held a gun to my head and said, "Dress him."
So i dressed him :]

It was supposed to be four outfits loosely inspired by the turtles, but i completely lost motivation to do raph's one :,]
(I blame so-called-yokai for the third one, giving me fashion ideas for peepaw)

You can blame so-called-yokai for the sheer croptop and skinny jeans since they didn't stop me when i brought up the ideas, lol
This was the original one! I decided to try dressing him up and had future mikey floating around my brain, then i decided to try making more, and uhh, here we are :p
And of course, i just had to try to draw so-called-yokai's oc Eshra! Gave him a matching colour scheme while i was at it, lol
I 100% recommend checking their writing out! They're really skilled, and we have recently teamed up to make a crossover AU! 'Semi-Feral Polaroids'! They're writing these adorable snippets about my nardo, leo, and their oc!

Maybe he sees an older yokai back then. Fifteen, twenty years on him, maybe? Hard to tell these days, with the war making everyone old before their time. Still pretty, though. Still vivacious. But starting to show his age just a little. Maybe he wonders what this little yokai was like… before. Before time and war wore him down and dulled his feathers, muted his smile. Maybe he wonders what it would be like to see the pretty yokai dancing for himself, for the sheer joy of it, and not just trying to distract and entertain the little ones from the hell they live in, wearing a smile that never quite reaches his eyes. Years later, but also years before, maybe he sees a pretty, vivacious yokai dancing for the sheer joy of it near the fountain in the Hidden City. Dancing like nobody's watching. Dancing like he doesn't care if they are. Their eyes meet across the square, and Leonardo knows those eyes, even if they don't yet know him.
We all know I'm never going to actually write this fic, but the concept is living rent-free in my head now.
Since @so-called-yokai has been so generous with content for our shared AU 'Semi-Feral Polaroids', i thought i might as well add something to the hoard

I kept thinking about this for a good week or two before actually drawing it, and it was; how would nardo and Eshra snuggle if they had one of those pregnancy pillows?
(Cuz i sleep with one lmfao, my bed is a pillow nest)
Tried a new line art technique for this one, pretty happy w it, but i could definitely still improve on it if i had used references
Also i amputated nardo's legs cuz they were being impossible
