I lost motivation to finish this after the second outfit
then @so-called-yokai 's oc Eshra held a gun to my head and said, "Dress him."
So i dressed him :]

It was supposed to be four outfits loosely inspired by the turtles, but i completely lost motivation to do raph's one :,]

This was the original one! I decided to try dressing him up and had future mikey floating around my brain, then i decided to try making more, and uhh, here we are :p
And of course, i just had to try to draw so-called-yokai's oc Eshra! Gave him a matching colour scheme while i was at it, lol
I 100% recommend checking their writing out! They're really skilled, and we have recently teamed up to make a crossover AU! 'Semi-Feral Polaroids'! They're writing these adorable snippets about my nardo, leo, and their oc!

Here's yet another progress picture lmfao, this time of our favourite crested boy, Eshra ^-^
I'm still far from done, as you can probably tell by his - very unfinished - wing as well as parts of his crest, but I'm really liking how everything is turning out so I figured I'd share! :]
I still need to figure out how to create a smooth transition between his wing and arm while also making it look believable, and I'm looking forward to messing around with a bunch of different brushes and feather patterns for that c:
I've played around a little with some more graphic elements, mainly the magenta cut-out silhouette. I think it adds some very nice depth to the whole piece, so I definetly think I'll be keeping it in the final product ^-^
I'm having an absolute blast with this! It's so much fun to depict Eshra in my own semi-realistic-ish style, thank you again @so-called-yokai for trusting me with your feathered boy! :D
I doubt he'll be a WIP for much longer, now that I've officially gotten started on his wing hehehe

I kept thinking about this for a good week or two before actually drawing it, and it was; how would nardo and Eshra snuggle if they had one of those pregnancy pillows?
(Cuz i sleep with one lmfao, my bed is a pillow nest)
Tried a new line art technique for this one, pretty happy w it, but i could definitely still improve on it if i had used references
Also i amputated nardo's legs cuz they were being impossible

@so-called-yokai created a whole species! Eshra (on the right) belongs to them, on the left is Orion, using a cloaking broach to look like an Anavri!
It's unfinished and def not my best work, but hey, why not post some stuff?

Here's two quick illustrations of our favourite feathered biped landing after a morning glide (with a twist!) :D
Or, well, two versions of the same illustration lmfao, sketched traditionally in graphite and completed digitally on my phone
This is clearly not Eshra's usual colour scheme, but instead inspired by the Palawan peacock-pheasant! (pictured below)
The first version still adheres to Eshra's already existing colour scheme to some extent, while the second one is made completely with the reference material in mind :]
I did take some creative liberty with the purple iridescence under his wings, as that's not something that exists in either Eshra's design or the pheasant. It felt necessary i order to better tie the brown in with the rest of the colour scheme
I had honestly forgotten completely about the existence of this bird until @so-called-yokai (also the creator of this lovely character, go check them out) brought up the idea of giving Eshra a pheasant-themed makeover, which I obviously couldn't resist ^-^
