Someone becoming better for the sake of just one person is such a good trope, not only in romance but also when it comes to friendship (my favorite) and family. Reminds me of this (beloved) quote from The Bane Chronicles: "He had seen many monsters who could love, but only a few who had let that love change them, who had been able to alchemize love for one person into kindness for many."
You know, I actually like the thought of Dabi being a genuinely shitty person until he sees how it negatively affects Hawks and is then like auujajhhh nevermind I love boundaries and respect

no offense to anyone who likes it or writes it you're allowed to have headcanons and fantasies but
i much prefer the idea of dabi being swayed by love
