Father Ares is a kind god to me. He has given me the strength to keep going - no matter how hopeless things seem. I hope he gives me the courage to continue to do what I need to despite the family and society that never cease to push back against my existence and joy.

Hence, he and Father Zeus are the only gods (as of now) I call 'Father' although I am devoted to, worship, and recieve support and blessing from other gods (Apollo, Hermes etc.). Both Father Zeus and Ares' guidance is more similar to the stern yet gentle encouragment from a father-figure, always there to tell me to 'get back up and fight'.

not to get emotional, but i often think about how Lord Ares is present everywhere.

Lord Ares is the rush of courage when we attempt something new, but we're confident it'll go well- just like he is the small flame of bravery when we are afraid but still take a step forward.

Lord Ares is the feeling of knowing that things can't end this way, and you keep pushing. He is the drive that we feel to move and keep on fighting. Just like he is the feeling of a new beginning, the excitement of a fresh start.

Lord Ares is there when I get up another day, even when I was afraid. He is there when I decide not to act. He is there when I am tired and frustrated and raging, he is there when I am calm, and happy and peaceful.

He sees our small victories all the time. He doesn't look away when we're at our lowest. He stays firm, he's always there.

I am so glad he's always there.
