Five X Lila - Tumblr Posts
I’m scared I’ll get bullied for agreeing with this but like-
He’s killed people, she’s killed people.
And honestly, I really want more fun content from the fandom right now. Like we’re all in pain over this but can we make each other laugh instead of stoking the flames and just continuing to be angry? Even if no one was happy with the season. No one is joking or memeing or making funner fanfics that don’t center around fixing whatever the hell yall hated.
I miss fun and being able to laugh when visiting the fandoms tags but that’s harder to do now because ever other, if not every. Single. Post. Is about how much anyone and everyone hated everything.
Fandom is supposed to be an escape and the canon rarely matters once we let ourselves run away with the story we are initially given but I actually can’t stand looking at fandom content right now because none of you are enjoying yourselves. You can change canon with fanfics and have fun at the same time. It’s in our hands to change now let’s focus on that please.
Have fun even if the source material made us puke and cry (in a bad way) and cringe.
Actually, Five totally would do that. Yall just like to put him on a pedestal.
He's desperate and horny and lonely and morally deficient. Maybe your five wouldn't, but book five definitely would do that and worse even. Also there's been tension building there since s2,
It made them feel more like real people who do have shitty marriages and cheat and fall for their bothers wives, relationships arent as clean and pure as youd like them to be, thats what makes characters interesting Chill.
The Umbrella Academy: the concept of second love, finding yourself, a little controversy and loss
I've noticed a very similar concept recurring with characters in TUA, and I'd like to break it down for each character individually. I'll take them by their numbers.
#1 Luther
First Love: Allison
Controversial relationship (adopted siblings)
Partially unrequited love - he was never as important to Allison as she is to him + later manipulates him (a sign of toxicity)
Still, she's very important in the development of his story and they have some nice moments and she's important to his character development, though mostly it's about him agonizing over his love for her (he falls for Sloane all the more quickly in my opinion, as he thirsts for true love)
Second Love: Sloane
Romantic relationship, despite the obstacles their feelings for each other are very pure and they have some very cute scenes together
Luther has found in her someone who understands and accepts him for who he is
Found and lost thanks to the time jump (reboot)
#2 Diego
First Love: Eudora
Ex-partner
Partial cooperation
Tragic loss: Eudora's death - partially helps his character development
Second love: Lila
From his point of view, an initially casual yet intense relationship
Controversy: Their relationship is built on Lila's lies and manipulation (she was interested in him because it was her mission, kidnaps him to the Commission and later lies to him about "their son")
Even though they are later married and have three children together, their marriage is dysfunctional
Relationship loss: Lila wants a break because she is unsure about their marriage, later falls in love with Five
#3 Allison
First Love: Luther
(Yes, it's probably appropriate to mention Patrick, but he was never really in the plot, so I won't mention him even though they were married and had a daughter together.)
More of a childhood crush
She valued him most when she didn't have anyone else around
(See Luther's points)
Second love: Raymond
Her true love
He knew the truth about her and accepted her
Found and lost thanks to the time jump
#4 Klaus
First "love": Alcohol and drug addiction
An unexpected and controversial choice? Perhaps, but this "love" was very devastating and made Klaus do many crazy things
His eternal affairs can't be considered love.
Second love: Dave
The only man Klaus loved more than himself (his words)
Found and lost thanks to the time jump
Klaus got rid of his addiction thanks to him (which then came back thanks to him, but he was definitely able to help him from his "toxic love")
#5 Five
First Love: Dolores
His fantasy created through loneliness and trauma
She helped him through his years in a post-apocalyptic world
Despite not being a "healthy relationship" it had a place in Five's story and was important to his development (among other things, it foreshadowed how sensitive Five could be when he fell in love)
Second Love: Lila
His first true love
Lila was the only one who ever truly understood him and understood what he was going through + he had the happiest moments of his life with her (finally)
Controversy: she was still his brother's wife at the time, yet we know that, given the circumstances, she hadn't been with Diego for years (and wanted a break before that)
Love found through being lost in time and "lost" through going back in time
Tragic ending: erased from existence
#6 Ben
First love: Jill
One-sided crush (Jill didn't really know Ben existed)
He had partially distorted ideas about her
Jill reminds me partly of Dolores, since Ben as a ghost had very limited options
Second Love: Jennifer
A fateful yet devastating love
Feelings affected by other circumstances (Marigold and Durango)
Tragic ending: death
#7 Vanya/Victor
First "love": Leonard
A relationship built on a foundation of manipulation and lies
Yet Vanya herself mentioned the feelings she had for him, even if they were based on lies
Killed by Vanya, part of the reason for the apocalypse
Second Love: Sissy
Her/his true love
Controversy: A married woman with a family
Found and lost thanks to the time jump
Part of the reason for the apocalypse (Harlen)
#8 Lila
First Love: Diego
Their relationship had a very toxic foundation, from my perspective it was also based on Lila's rebellion against The Handler
An intense relationship, especially sexual
Their relationship gave her the family she wanted
See Diego's points
Second Love: Five
A romantic relationship
A collaborative partnership
Controversy: the killing of her family (who later live again)
Concept: enemies to lovers
See Five's points
It is very interesting from my point of view that their relationships often have common points. Usually the first loves carry a trace of a certain toxicity and only the second love is the real one (though this point is slightly moot with Diego, as his healthier relationship was definitely with Eudora and Ben wasn't entirely lucky in that regard either).
Also, they all found their loves based on the time jump and also lost them based on another time event. Death is also a very common part of the story.
I also find it interesting that most, for the sake of their relationships, opposed their family (in various forms) no matter what it brought - everyone would be very selfish for their happiness.
What do you think about this?
Lila & five
Literally the ONLY good thing that came out of the disaster that was TUA S4, was Lila & Five’s relationship BEST RELATIONSHIP int the whole show.
My take on Five/Lila - and why they were endgame
I’ve seen so many people say that Five and Lila didn’t make any sense, and I just disagree. I've tried to really motivate why, and also why I see them as endgame. Feel free to agree or disagree.
First of all, Five and Lila share a common background of being raised plus trained as survivors and weapons. Five was molded by his time in the apocalypse, the Commission and his ruthless upbringing within the Hargreeves family, while Lila was similarly trained and manipulated by the Handler. Both of them were forced into brutal, high-stakes environments from a young age, developing a sense of independence, ruthlessness, and survival instincts that the rest of the family can’t fully relate to. We see this especially in Five and Lila’s difficulties in showing emotional vulnerability and trusting others. This shared experience means they both understand the cost of their traumatic upbringings and can relate to each other’s emotional scars in ways others just won’t be able to. So already by this, they’re somewhat bonded from the start.
In other similarities both Five and Lila possess extraordinary intelligence and tactical thinking. They challenge each other in a way no one else does. This has been an ongoing thing between them, bouncing off each other and sometimes teaming up. It’s also what drew them to work on another mission together in S4, there has always been some kind of pull/push there. Personality-wise both Five and Lila have a dark sense of humor and a cynical outlook on the world. But despite the cynicism, they still manage to eventually relax and find humor in each other’s company. The lighter moments we’ve seen between them at times have been an interesting contrast to their otherwise serious and violent lifestyles.
I do believe their shared backgrounds and personalities created a bond that was then further strengthened during the years they spent lost in the subway together. Isolated from the rest of the world, they literally only had each other for company. The intimacy and trust that grew between them was inevitable. When you have no one else to rely on, you’re going to develop a relationship stronger than under normal circumstances. So over those years, they must have grown close in ways that no one else could fully understand. Even though we didn't get to see every detail of how it unfolded (because the season was way too short), it’s not difficult to imagine.
I’d also say they naturally grew a bond stronger than with any other character at that time, except for the one between mother and child which is why Lila’s need to be with her children would always make her go home if given the chance. Five knew this and it’s the reason he kept the solution from her for months.
Now, to my thoughts about their actions in regards to Diego as this is often brought up. The argument that Lila cheated on her husband with Five is understandable from a moral perspective, if we see it as just that without any context. But when you consider the circumstances it is way more nuanced. You have to look at not only the environment they found themselves in, but also the emotional and psychological journey they went through together. Their relationship was ultimately forged over a shared background and then several years of isolation. Then you add to the fact that Diego seems to have treated Lila like crap in the years leading up to the isolation, she said it herself he was always moping around and complaining while she sacrificed her life to stay at home and take care of the kids. She even told him she needed a break to reassess their relationship. I do believe her and Five had somewhat already begun an emotional affair before the isolation, the way they were sneaking off together and clearly wanted to keep their thing separate from Diego and the others. Yet they still didn’t get physical until they settled down, believing they weren’t gonna find a way back.
Also, it’s important to here consider the strength of the bond, as I mentioned earlier, that Five and Lila must have developed over those years. They knew each other better than anyone else by the end. Spending every day together in a survival situation with nothing else around would likely create an unparalleled level of intimacy and emotional closeness. This bond would probably transcend Lila’s previous relationship with Diego, and maybe even Five’s bond with his siblings. It’s been years since he returned to them and they had all grown in separate directions. Lila and Five however had recently experienced something life-changing together, and it is unfair to dismiss the strength of their connection as something unethical or out of character when their reality had shifted so drastically from when the show started.
Another important point here is how the relationship with Lila allowed Five to finally be "human" and emotionally open in a way he hadn’t allowed himself to be before. Five was obviously emotionally detached as a result of both his past trauma and the burden of being a hyper-intelligent man in the body of a boy. With Lila, he had the chance to just feel love and trust without worrying about anything else. So I do think this outweighs his “betrayal” against his brother as people claim.
Now on to how and why Five and Lila were endgame. I’m convinced that Lila did love Five despite her choice to leave their isolation. To me this was cemented as she didn’t deny her feelings when Diego asked her straight out. If she wanted to make Diego feel better she could have easily denied her feelings for Five to reassure him. Yet even when asked twice she couldn’t do it. There was also Lila’s look of relief when Five returned to them at the end. It was Five who Lila allowed to comfort her after she said goodbye to her family, trusting him in her most vulnerable moment instead of blipping back to Diego and the others. These events showed the deep trust and emotional intimacy that still existed between them after returning to “the real world”. Despite her saying it was over. I also want to add here that Lila took Five’s hand as they were dying, the look between them was for me at least silently saying they loved each other.
So all in all I do believe that the connection and love between Five and Lila was authentic. It also made sense. They’re able to understand each other’s emotional complexities, including their darker tendencies, without needing to change who they are. Still their time together seemed to actually have softened them both when they finally had the chance to settle down, almost as if they were healing from past trauma together. This would forge a relationship that no one else could replicate without going through the same experience. Making Five and Lila a reasonable endgame, which they also were in my eyes considering they died holding hands.
----------------------
Summary: Five and Lila's shared background of trauma, matched intelligence, and similar personalities means they make sense. They shared a bond that was only further strengthened during their years of isolation. For 7 years they only had each other to rely on. This inevitably created an intimacy and relationship that couldn’t be compared to what they had had with anyone else. Outweighing what they did to Diego when you consider all context. Lila and Five ended up being human and vulnerable with each other on a level they hadn’t been with anyone else. Ultimately Lila’s refusal to deny her feelings for Five, her relief when he returned, him comforting her as she sent her family away and then finally them dying hand-in-hand, showed that they were endgame.
She always chooses Five.

New One-shot Alert
My Five X Lila Strip poker one-shot is finally done!
A Preview:
Five expelled his drink, coughing into his fist afterward.
Lila’s eyes widened as she leaned over, patting him on the back a few times as he gasped and sputtered. “I-I’m sorry—” he wheezed. “I-I thought you said ‘strip’—”
“Oh, no. You heard right,” she reassured calmly.
“What the fu-How can-Are you—?!” Five rapidly protested, suddenly squeezing his eyes shut, his expression annoyed and aggrieved in equal turns. “What am I saying? Of course, you’re insane—”
“Oi! You said I get to pick—!”
“Yes, Lila. I did,” Five admitted, his voice strained as he tried to be patient. “But why would you—?!”
“What? Afraid of losing your precious Puritanical sense of propriety because you’re shite at cards—”
“Two things, senior psychopath. One, I am most certainly not ‘shite’ at cards. You must not have read my file too closely while you were at the Commission, because if you had you would know the identity of the only known person to have bested James Hickok in a game of cards—”
“Wild Bill?!” Lila gasped as Five kept talking.
“—Two, you are my brother’s wife—not to mention my best friend!” Five hissed as if worried someone might hear him.
“Aw, old man, I’m touched—!” Lila fawned, only to be cut off.
“Don’t change the subject! Playing strip poker is practically cheating!” he snapped.
Lila rolled her eyes. “Puh-lease! One, there is no way you are telling me you beat Wild Bill and even think for a second, that we’re not going to play! Two, playing strip poker is most certainly not cheating—”
“How the hell do you figure—?!”
“It’s not like we’d even be touching—”
“We’d be naked—!”
“You might be, loser—”
“Regardless of who might be naked in this scenario, Lila, the point still stands that it is obviously —”
“Have you forgotten that you’ve already seen me starkers as it is?” Lila smirked, folding her arms. “Or am I the only one that remembers?”
Lila watched as a vein began to throb at Five’s temple as he gritted out, “You were trying to kill me; forgive me for being a little preoccupied.”
“Not at all! You honestly ought to thank me for even giving you another chance at eyeing the goods!”
Lila watched in amusement as Five gnashed his teeth in frustration, his face growing red. She was unsure if it was from anger or embarrassment.
“We’re both adults, old man; playing a friendly game! Nothing untoward. You Americans are always so touchy about nudity. There are plenty of cultures where family members see each other naked all the time—!”
“Lila, it’s not because we’re—"
“Besides, the human form is natural; not necessarily only sexual,” Lila reasoned, knowing Five well enough to know that an appeal to his sense of logic would be difficult for him to argue against. Although she could think of one other appeal he’d struggle to overcome: an appeal to his sense of pride.
“You’re just afraid I’ll show you up,” Lila grinned.
She liked the way his eyes blazed when he was truly beginning to lose his patience. The way he clenched his jaw, making a muscle jump in his cheek.
“Or worse, that you might like what you see~” Lila whispered, teasing.
Five’s face went scarlet.
Lila felt her heartbeat quicken.
Lila loved ruffling his feathers, flirting and teasing; taunting and baiting; and disturbing his carefully constructed world.
She loved it from the moment they met, and it had only grown over the years.
She remembered when they'd first been enemies, the way his anger and pain had felt like a balm to her soul.
When his bitterness had tasted so very sweet.
Even now, with his brother—her husband—no one else had ever given her this feeling. That spike of adrenaline and dopamine that rushed through her veins like a drug. That thrill that made her heart race.
Her life felt drab, stifling, and joyless sometimes; like she was dragging her feet through a gray, lackluster existence.
And then Five would come along, brightening her life and splashing her universe in technicolor. If she was Dorthy, he was her Oz and she never wanted to go back to Kansas.
The place with the strawberries (Fanfic)
Imagine Five never found that little black notebook on the subway tracks so him and Lila remain stuck in their own alternate timeline. Their relationship blossoms slowly over time and they create a life together at ‘the place with the strawberries’. Time can change everything, especially minds and hearts. This a tragic love story. Mature themes.
( I didn't write this but it was well done so thought other fans would enjoy the read ♥ )
*waves shyly* So, this is my first Five X Lila story. Please, take care of me 🙇🏻♀️
☂️🚆🍓 Love, and other things that won’t stay buried
Summary: Five didn’t kiss Lila in the strawberry greenhouse that day. But it doesn’t mean he won’t another day.
Hey guys,
This is my modest contribution to the wonderful people of the FiveLila community. To the many amaaaazing writers and artists, its thoughtful members and incredible supporters 💜
You’ve brought me back to fanfictions. To tumblr. To ao3.
You’ve fueled my obsession with this ship for the past month and a half—you’ve played with my heartstrings, sometimes making it ache even more, and other times spreading healing balm on my broken heart.
Gosh, I feel like a girl in love—living in a daze, listening to love and break up songs, feeling hot and dizzy, and constantly checking my phone for updates of the community... so, here’s a small token of love to all of you.
I hope you’ll enjoy this piece as much as it kept me obsessed day in, day out, trying to find the right words, and make sense of the one scene that started the whole story.
It’s been a years— more than a decade even—since I last wrote anything. Much less in English. So, I apologize in advance for any typos, grammatical errors or weird wordling and phrasing.
These are the first two chapters. I'm still trying to wrap things up, so I figured, I'll post the first part to test the waters with you all 🙏
I’d love any feedback to know if I should train or warm up a bit more before our little appreciation week in October. I have some ideas, but I needed to get this one out first. 💜
Merci 😊
This is the third chapter of “Love, and other things”. Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as the beginning 😊
Summary: Everything comes together, before crashing down (of course).
♥Shy stolen looks♥
These two...I swear~ ♥ Can cover any relationship trope. Here is still the sweetest and most at peace either one of them has been. Five gazing at lila - both of them becoming mentally healthy again. Healing from what they have been through. Lila meeting his gaze but Five still not saying anything. The adorable stolen looks to each other when they think the other isn't looking. Lila wanting his attention, Five being playful by ignoring her till she keeps poking at him for acknowledgment. Their little flirting game was quite romantic ♥
As much as you guys hate to admit it, the Five and Lila pairing makes sense and was not at all utter bullshit as you guys are making it seem.
From the time Lila was introduced, she came in as a strong character that's wild, sexy, fun, and a bit deranged. She's a badass character! And what happens? She meets Diego in a point in her life where she was at the height of chaos and adventure. They fall in love, or in a toxic situationship filled with family drama and mother/father issues.
Now let's look at Five. His situation is overall fucked. Imagine being some kid that grew up with space/time travel powers and getting stuck in time, having to grow up pretty much before all of his siblings, and then having to come back in his KID body and still have to fix THEIR problems on top of dealing with his own mental issues that he acquired and loneliness. Reminder that he would not have had a partner due to his inconvenient life/appearance.
Lila and Diego are in this marriage with kids after trying to live a "normal" life. Lila feels stuck because she basically trauma bonded with some guy that happened to be there and was able to put up with her issues and vice versa. Diego was convenient. And from what I see, she really just wanted to make a family she didn't have. Their relationship is kinda out of obligation for their kids at this point, and neither of them are happy.
At this point, Five and Lila get stuck in time together after having previously been on opposite sides but coming together for family sake. From the beginning they matched each other's energy and even I would say they complement each other. They both have explosive personalities filled with sarcasm, snark, and a bit of humor. They both enjoy danger and a rough tussle. That's all they have known.
At this point, both Five and Lila have experienced so much in their lives, so much adventure already. They are ready to settle down, because sometimes love is the adventure you're looking for in this crazy world.
And look I get it. Badass lady is reduced to housewife trope that shouldn't exist unless within character. But can we really say this is out of character for Lila? She always does the unexpected, so her going off to be a spy is what we would expect, for her and Five.
And I also get that you guys think that Five would never betray his family like that. This isn't a perfect world and neither are these characters. If anything, we've seen Five do things for his own self interest over what the family/others want. Same for Lila.
Add in the loneliness of DECADES from Five and the trapped loneliness Lila feels within her marriage, and the fact they they go on another mission together over SEVEN years, mixed with their explosive dynamic and you have a pairing.
And explosion seems to be the theme for this season right? With Ben and Jennifer. Sometimes 2 exlosive chemicals become more stable rather than creating a blast. And maybe each other is what Five and Lila needed. They both understand each other in ways Diego could never understand Lila. Lila also understands Five's predicament like no other, having lived it first hand with him in the Seven years. It's only natural that they would come together. Lila and Diego were eventually going to divorce because they weren't compatible. Lila has always had the most chemistry with Five.
I get the cheating and in no way do I excuse it, but these characters have no idea when they will ever get back home and if. I think they would go absolutely crazy if they didn't have each other. In this time, they realized how similar they are and ended up being a better match. They found what they were looking for in each other. And you can't deny their connection like come on.
In my experience, in the real world, love is messy and not perfect. Sometimes finding love is your next adventure after you've live a life like no other. Maybe this will be good for them.
Also, they writers arent crazy or out of pocket, you guys just need to grow up.
The other side of everything
I think all of you have read the repeated sentences about what's wrong with Fivelila. So I thought I'd write my thoughts on it and maybe some of my headcanon.
1) Age gap
Problem: Ritu is 15 years older than Aidan. Five and Lila have an age difference in both directions, mentally he is much older and physically she is older.
My take: About the age of the actors, I'll say this much - the opposite is so common and many people don't find it strange. For example, did you know that Julia Roberts was 23 when her film Pretty Woman came out and that Richard Gere is 19 years older than her? And I haven't noticed anyone being disgusted by how that's possible. I could find some more extreme differences, but I don't think I want to.
Aidan is 21 and yes, he did TUA when he was younger, but a lot of people still think he's a kid. But no, he's not. Deal with it.
My headcanon: Lila is older than she looks. And that's thanks to the Handler and the work she does for the Commissions. Does any of us know how long has she lived somewhere outside of time? Sounds like another possible parallel to me.
2) Lila was cheating on Diego
Problem: Lila was unfaithful to her husband.
My take: Lila made it clear that she wanted a break with Diego and wanted to reconsider their marriage. Yes, the circumstances ended up being pretty wild, but it was more than obvious that she wasn't happy in the marriage. Among other things, it was over six and a half years for her before anything happened with Five. There are countries where such a long separation between spouses could also help to bring about an immediate divorce if necessary.
I also think that the only thing that connected them the most was their children and not that they were compatible as partners. A completely natural thing that happens really often in real life when someone builds a relationship on desire, which they mistake with love.
3) Five is homewrecker
Problem: Five is the reasons why his brother's family fell apart.
My take: It's not true. Five was not the reason that Lila and Diego had problems in their marriage. Yes, she was still his brother's wife and that's a bit morally grey, but their situation was complicated enough (as I wrote in the previous point) and it's completely understandable. By the way, don't people like this family precisely because their morals are often a bit grey? I guess that's probably only true sometimes, huh?
4) Five cheated on Dolores
Problem: Five was unfaithful to Dolores
My take: Sorry, but this is the biggest piece of shit ever. If someone prefers a relationship that Five made up in his mind just to keep himself from going crazy and heal his trauma, then our fandom isn't the one that's wrong. By the way, if Dolores was real and played by Rachel Delduca, she's definitely older too! I couldn't find the exact age, but it's pretty obvious that she's older than Aidan.
5) Five killed Lila's parents
Problem: Five was the killer of Lila's family and Handler could have kidnapped her. Her family may be alive, but it won't change the past.
My take: Yes, this is about the only thing that could never work in another story. Lila gets her family back, but it doesn't change what happened to her. Still, I think even she knows very well what it's like to work for the Commission and what it was like when an order came down. Handler bears most of the blame, even though she wasn't the one who killed them.
My headcanon: I don't think Lila had clean hands either, though we never really saw that much in the story. Still, even she could have been the murderer of some random parents of some random kids because that was her job. For example, she killed several people on the Commission to get access to past records in the barn, so it would be a bit hypocritical for her to blame others for actions that she herself had done before.
If you have any other thing I should discuss, please post it in the comments, I'll do another post about it.
The vociferous ship antis sure love to spam a ship tag just to scream hate into a space that's not for them. There's a much longer form of thoughts on the series that I've been working on forever, but here's some brief ones about Five/Lila/Diego:
Lila didn't ask for a separation out of nowhere, neither did Lila and Diego's marriage randomly collapse. They had a shotgun marriage after barely knowing each other for a few weeks at most and their marriage has been worsening for 6 years with Diego openly resenting his wife, kids, and in laws on the daily. He's always had an issue with her keeping things from him and assumes the worst of her. Lila is severely burnt out with the endless mental load of the entire family of 5 that she's carrying alone. Lila tried to find a way to deal with the unhappiness on her own, not wanting even more negative reactions from him than he already constantly expresses. The supposed point of the New Grumpson trip was them spending time as a duo without the kids and Lila and Diego did talk through the respective issues they have with one another, but it's made clear they have unreconcilable differences to the point that they can't even get along in a literal life or death situation. She will always care about him as the father of their kids, but their relationship as a couple doesn't work.
It should be normalized to end toxic relationships, especially toxic marriages, and I'm glad to see Lila did so. Lila didn't cheat on Diego, she amicably, verbally separated from Diego and she didn't even start a new relationship until over 6 and a half years after the separation and she almost died endless times. Dating wasn't even on her mind, Diego kept projecting it on her, she just wanted to go enjoy doing what she liked, which is going on missions and figuring things out, until she got trapped in the mercurial subway out of time. Five and Lila kept each other safe and in positive spirits through the hell they endured for years and years before they found romantic love with each other. They got to know each other extremely well before they went to that next step. Five being Diego's brother also isn't anything wrong. Five himself is single and available and always sees things how they are and the marriage was over in the present and then long over for years with in the subway with the situation looking like they will be in the subway forever before things change between Five and Lila. TUA has always been a morally grey series with these characters being the morally greyest of them all and they didn't even cheat or home wreck in the context of their nuanced situations. It's just arbitrary to impose absolute morals on them all of a sudden to be contrary for the sake of it, especially when there's so much actually in the text to show how things played out the way they did.
Chapter 4 of "Love, and other things" is out ❤
So here's my gift for the Hargreeves' birthday 🎈 There's a scene that *could* be a present I guess 😉
Hope you'll enjoy the read!
Summary: Must everything always end in tears? (spoilers: the answer is 'no' of course 😂)
Note 1: To be honest, the story could have ended here too... But the story had a mind of its own, so there's just a little more coming until the finishing line 🙂
Note 2: If you care to look for it, there's just one sentence, that refers to something canon, that hints to how I'm handling the next chapter 😁
I can't get over that look of love and everlasting devotion.
Marigold Semi-existence Musings
So was discussing the likely possibility of the marigolds being their souls in their own purgatory in the park with someone on discord. How their sense of self may have still been retained with memories, telepathic communications between them. Since this was a way for them to still exist. Just giving up their earthly bodies to not impact the timelines with interference in a negative manner. Allison had said, "Maybe we'll meet again." Five responding "That would be nice..." Tying in to them being the marigolds. A small mercy from the universe or perhaps the mysterious little girl who could represent god or the devil according to Klaus. I'm confident in saying that the two marigolds leaning into each other, practically nuzzling are Five and Lila. Their love story coming to fruition was meant to be the focus of this season originally. Budget and time cuts limited that but their scenes together still painted the picture of the tale. Evoking the proper emotions. Wouldn't have made sense for Lila/Diego since they didn't have more loving scenes together. Apologies riddled with guilt and the need for closure before the end can't be misconstrued for acceptance in love. The season went out of the way to show how that love had withered on the vine over time. Showrunner essentially said they couldn't come back from that and she would have been with five as well. Was reading up on the meaning behind marigold flowers and in the language of flowers; when they are given to someone they are said to represent love and ever lasting devotion. Couldn't help but remember five during the bracelet scene.
Another interesting fact is that the flower is used to help guide the souls of the dead back to the land of the living. Given how the umbrella's sacrificed themselves but their souls are still part of the original timeline, watching familiar faces they saved in a subtle way at the park. A flower that was cultivated by the ancient civilization, the Aztecs. This meaning behind them is why they are often used to celebrate the holiday Dia de los Muertos.

Chapter 5 of "Love, and other things" is out ❤
This chapter is dedicated to @gaishnik When I was wondering whether to end the world or not (because I Am The Author 😎), I remembered that cute fanart they did :
And thus, this is how the story went. Hope you'll enjoy this chapter ❤
For this chapter, I ask for your suspension of disbelief. 🙏
Sneak peek :
The other Five was still lounging in his booth. His face was blank as he gave a long look at their laced fingers before leaning back and giving Five a steel glare. The silent showdown could have dragged on—until a plate slid in front Lila.
“Your favorite, Love!” said Waiter!Five with a cheerful grin. “Strawberry jam on toast, with a side of baked beans and eggs. Compliments from the Chef.”
“You tell me if you want more, Love!” shouted Brisket!Five, beaming from the open kitchen.
“Lila, are you real?” Drunk!Five dragged himself off the wall, stumbling toward their booth. He collapsed beside her, resting his head on her lap and promptly passing out. Lilas started petting his hair, bemused.
Five could see a vein throb on his double’s face. Booth!Five closed his eyes before steeling himself. “You guys—why you always—You see other Lilas here?” He shot a pointed look at Five, voice hard and full of accusation.
