Gesture Drawing - Tumblr Posts
I did some Art studies. It’s just a few Gesture drawings though the Marilyn Monroe took 4 hours to get it right lmao.
I plan on posting more of my studies later on to build confidence and motivation. And also some Fan Art.
I couldn’t find the reference Photo for the third sketch.

Some gesture drawings I did today

Cuong Nhu Tiger Form animation 🐅 🐅 Chalk Pastel on Calligraphy Paper. 56 frames.
Hey @soul-has-left-the-chat ! Gesture drawing example :)
The trick is to keep it quick and fast! it’s okay if it’s not perfect. I can delete this post if you want. Ignore the music lmao. This one’s a little longer than what I usually spend on gesture drawings.
yeah listen to my gf soupie. She’s much smarter and good at explaining things 🙌🙌🙌

Just practicing some gesture drawing.
Used Abigail as my subject for this drawing.
She's a cyborg but made her a human in this :)
Also still developing a her story.

Hola!

Tuesday Tips - Structure/Gesture: Why Not Both!
Probably one the most compelling issue to deal with when drawing characters. There’s clear pros and cons to both approach. The key, IMO, is to straddle the line between both. Give appeal and energy through the use of gesture, but always give hints of structure, weight and solidity to make the character feel like it lives in an environment. I do a quick, dynamic gesture first, then I go back in and add some structure on a second pass. In a rush, I’ll focus the structure pass on faces, hands and feet (feet: their position on the ground to give weight and/or balance to the pose.) -Norm @grizandnorm #tuesdaytips #100tuesdaytips #100tuesdaytipsbook #structuregesture #whynotboth

just wanted to share some of my warmups with the mutuals. i promise i do more than just guys standing in 3/4 poses i just never get creative ideas for the characters i post (oooohhh *hypnotizing you* you want to leave me drawing requests in my askbox oooohhh)
