This one's supposed to have a vibe like it's an out of bounds area in a 2000s game, like you got outta the map and oh here's a random ass fuckin roach on a building as an easter egg

Looking back, I shouldn't have included sawflies in this because the females can't sting either, but I name dropped them because they are hymenopterans

This was made as a "basic info" thing for people who don't know bugs much to see and learn a little

It makes me sad that crane flies are so often mistaken as giant mosquitos and are killed for it. They're just harmless, clumsy, 2 braincell possessing sweethearts :(

Still love how I drew the butterfly and moth here. Iirc the butterfly is a holly blue and the moth is a green sallow or some other kind of sallow

I like the thought of a yellowjacket having a sparkly or starry look on the black areas of its body

Chestnut carpenter ant

Sweet little baby girl ❤ I love these ants. I harassed them a lot as a kid lmao, loved to hold them. The ones I messed with weren't very happy with kid me holding them tho... I was gentle with them but still grasped them which of course upset them. Sorry little fellas

If I recall right, they are (from left to right) :

Valley carpenter bee (male), blue carpenter bee, eastern yellowjacket, southern carpenter bee and a carolina paper wasp. Fine backed or rough backed wasn't distinguished in my mind so the wasp here could be either
