they still show yellow scrawls and varying shades of base color like the wild gray form, with males tending to be dark and patternless and females brighter and with more markings.

I have loved them since I was five.

Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it's bad or dumb or some other thing. More people like it, which means more engagement, which means more people become friends and so on and so forth.

i love how whenever something gets popular the underground tormented avant garde bloggers start becoming self conscious of liking it/finding it funny, and it eventually evolves into aggression towards it. doesnt matter what it is. unrelated but i saw someone call isopods cringe today

The ‘rubber ducky’ isopod is a miniature pet with a duck bill face. I see it more as a Darth Vader helmet , haha. These cute little guys are really awesome!

If they ever breed them in jet black, they can call them Vader Duckies! 😅

Check out these lil' guys

Flash photo of a sea slater on a concrete surface, facing the left of the image. It looks like a flat, yellow-brown woodlouse with big black eyes, two large antennae, and four long prongs sticking out from its rear.

Sea slaters! They look like woodlice because they are woodlice. Well. maybe. Apparently scientists tested some molecular markers that suggest it may actually be a marine isopod, not a terrestrial woodlouse*. seems like a discussion for the isopod-understanders though

If you find one during the day it'll probably be hiding in a crevice. but lemme tell you. when the sun goes down these guys are down to clown. boy can they move

and lookem big peepers. these guys are PEEPIN'

*i'm no expert i just read this webpage and this newsletter citing this paper (which was too complex for me) pls don't kill me isopod-knowers
