Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Be devout and you will be the most pious of people. Be content and you will be the most grateful of people. Love for people what you love for yourself and you will be a believer. Behave well with your neighbors and you will be a Muslim. Laugh less, for too much laughter will deaden the heart."
— Sunan Ibn Mājah 4217,
Abu Ad-Dardh narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " مَا شَيْءٌ أَثْقَلُ فِي مِيزَانِ الْمُؤْمِنِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ خُلُقٍ حَسَنٍ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَيَبْغَضُ الْفَاحِشَ الْبَذِيءَ " .
"Nothing is heavier on the believer's Scale on the Day of Judgment than good character. For indeed Allah, Most High, is angered by the shameless obscene person."
—Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2002
Narrated by Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah says: 'I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if He remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.' "
—Sahih al-Bukhari 7405
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days,” meaning the (first) ten days of Dhul- Hijjah. They said: “O Messenger of Allah! Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah?” He said: “Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah, unless a man goes out with himself and his wealth and does not bring anything back.”
—Sunan Ibn Majah 1727
"Truthfulness is a trust, lying is treachery"
—Abu Bakr Siddiq
Abu Qatadah reported:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was asked about fasting the day of Arafat and he said, “It will expiate the sins of the previous and upcoming years.” Then, the Prophet was asked about fasting the day of Ashura and he said, “It will expiate the sins of the past year.”
—Sahih Muslim 1162
A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
"There is no day when God sets free more servants from Hell than the Day of 'Arafa. He draws near, then praises them to the angels, saying: What do these want?"
—Sahih Muslim 1348
May this auspicious occasion of Eid bring us nothing but abundance of blessings, prosperity and love. May Allāh ﷻ accept our prayers, sacrifices and reward it immensely. This day marks a day of gratitude, reflection and celebration and I pray that Allāh ﷻ guide us with His light throughout this ephemeral journey in this dunya. May Allāh ﷻ shower his choicest blessings on us and our families—strengthening the bond of love and admiration. Praying for the best outcomes in our endeavors with the mercy of Allāh ﷻ. Let this Eid be a reminder for us to keep our Iman steadfast on Deen and allow us to follow the footsteps of Hazrat Ibrahim (a.s) with respect to his unwavering faith in Allāh Almighty. May Allāh ﷻ gift us Jannah. Ameen Sum Ameen.
Eid Mubarak everyone!
Remember me in your prayers
O believers! Obey Allah and His Messenger and do not turn away from him while you hear ˹his call˺.
—Surah Anfal [8:20]
Narrated `Abdullah, I asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ;
"Which deed is the dearest to Allāh ﷻ?" He replied, "To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times." I asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, "To be good and dutiful to your parents" I again asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, 'To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah's ﷻ cause." `Abdullah added, "I asked only that much and if I had asked more, the Prophet ﷺ would have told me more."
—Sahih al-Bukhari 527
The Prophet ﷺ said : "Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and gain strength by worshipping in the mornings, the afternoons, and during the last hours of the nights."
—Sahih al-Bukhari 39
• Make religion easy for you
• Practice Mindfulness and Gratitude
• Make morning/evening azkars your best friend.
• Don't become an extremist
"He who indulges in excess will not benefit from it."
—Prophet Idris
"If only you had said upon hearing it, “How can we speak about such a thing! Glory be to You ˹O Lord˺! This is a heinous slander!"
[24:16]
This goes to any negative thing we hear or say about people! Negativity doesn't have to come in categories. To put it simply, it is a plague which erases your good deeds instantly. So why plunge into gossiping and backbiting when it's gonna hurt you both in dunya and aakhirah. How can you face Allāh ﷻ? Why even bother discussing people? As said, "Great minds discuss ideas" , so instead of stockpiling sins, we should aspire to discuss Allāh ﷻ, His gifted Deen, Jannah and Hereafter, Dreams, Goals, informative knowledge, food for thoughts, new ideas, about your day, your reflections etc. If this job seems arduous, then embrace silence. A golden key to unlock every door of possible rewards.
Indeed in the remembrance of Allāh ﷻ, the peace of every creature relies. I have noticed that whenever I keep my heart and mouth moist in the remembrance of my Lord— my anguish, worries and anxiety rolls over as if it never existed in the first place. Not that the problem has forever wiped its existence, and not that it is impossible for my Rabb to make it happen, but the way I approach it now changes the entire plot.
Keep repeating this dhikr like a chant. Ask for forgiveness whenever you can. Acknowledge that all human beings are born to err, and our Lord ﷻ loves to forgive us. Indeed, he is Al Gafoor.
This world isn't permanent. These worries aren't permanent. These moments of happiness aren't permanent. These sorrows aren't permanent. These achievements aren't permanent. These sicknesses aren't permanent. These failures aren't permanent. Your life isn't permanent. My life isn't permanent.
You know what is permanent? The unlimited mercy of Allāh ﷻ. The Throne of Allāh ﷻ. The Forgiving attribute of Allāh ﷻ. The immeasurable love of Allāh ﷻ. That out of all the creation of this universe, we are his favorites. That we are created in our best mould by the One and Only Fashioner. Al Mussawir.
So, close that distance between your face and the ground and completely submit yourself into His ﷻ will and decree. Your life is going to change for the best. And In Sha Allah, your Hereafter will thank you for this change.
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and the hope of reward will be forgiven his previous sins.”
—Sunan Ibn Majah 1641
Now who doesn't want their sins to be forgiven? To be one of the residents of Jannah. To reside under the shadows of trees, to enjoy the flowing rivers. For us to attain the biggest success of this world and the Hereafter which is undoubtedly Jannah, it is essential to work for it. This longanimity of fasts, insatiable thirst, will all be rewarded in the best way possible. May Allāh ﷻ allow us to be the one entering "Rayyan" —one of the eight gates of Heaven for the people who observed fasts only for the sake of Allāh ﷻ.
It was narrated that 'Aishah (R.A) said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَ عُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَمِلْتُ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا لَمْ أَعْمَلْ
"O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the evil of what I have done and from the evil of what I have not done yet."
—Sunan an-Nasa'i 5526
One of the greatest virtues of praying Taraweeh in the mosque, behind the Imam.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
"Whoever prays Qiyam with the Imam until he finishes, Allah (SWT) will record for him the Qiyam of a (whole) night."
—Sunan an-Nasa'i 1605
SubhanAllah! Indeed, Allāh ﷻ is THE MERCIFUL.
Hazrat Ali (رضي الله عنه) reported:
A slave who had made a contract with his master to pay for his freedom, came to me and said: "I am unable to fulfill my obligation, so help me." He said to him: "Shall I not teach you a supplication which the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught me? It will surely prove so effective that if you have a debt as large as a huge mountain, Allah will surely pay it for you. Say:
"(O Allah! Grant me enough of what You make lawful so that I may dispense with what You make unlawful, and enable me by Your Grace to dispense with all but You)."
—Riyad as-Salihin 1486
Anytime you see a goodness in me, it's all because of the MERCY of Allāh ﷻ that He ﷻ has chosen me to be committing these acts. Whether it's patience, kindness, steadfastness, intelligence, good character, justice— the list goes on. It's always Allah's mercy. It's the only truth. Any achievement you see of mine is already decreed by Allāh ﷻ. Nothing is in my hand and nothing will be. Even the choice of my Sajdah is already been decided by my Lord ﷻ up there. Subsequently, it opens a new door of gratitude since nothing could ever be possible without Him ﷻ. Allāh ﷻ the Lord of the WORLDS. Not just the life which is born on earth, the lives of the millions of worlds which are incomprehensible to our limited mind. Yet, Allah ﷻ is the most Merciful towards me! It's very good to be reminded of your position and humble yourself before "Al-Malik".
