Hallmark Channel - Tumblr Posts
My mother used to watch this show, I found it annoying, as I often do with Hallmark productions (mainly because all of the dialogue is, like, just left of normal human speech), and I could not figure out when this show took place. I'd see the clothing and think mid to late 1930s, then I'd see everyone had horse-drawn-carriages and guestimate late 1890s to early 1900s, then I'd see a car that didn't come out until 1918 and figure it was at the latest the mid 1920s. This show was a mess in the production department. Stick with sappy Christmas romance, Hallmark, at least you'll get the costumes accurate.
Whenever a new fantasy/historical drama comes out I eagerly look forward to the rants from the handful of people I follow on here who are deeply into historical fashion and costuming. It's like

A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Dir: David Jones, 1999).
So numerous are the adaptations of Charles Dickens’ evergreen A Christmas Carol that it is difficult for any new retelling to bring anything original to the tale. This Hallmark produced made for TV movie features decent production values, some neat visual effects and a somewhat more sombre tone than expected but doesn’t really stand out from the Christmas Carol crowd.
