I Was Trying To Think Of How This Girl's Champion Battle Against Cynthia Went And Then I Was LikeNah

I was trying to think of how this girl's Champion battle against Cynthia went and then I was like…Nah man, she probably didn't even have a Champion battle. She skipped that phase of her Hero journey and went straight into trying to kill Cynthia for allowing Cyrus to live. It doesn't matter to her that her former mentor only showed mercy because she still loved Cyrus as a twin sibling. Given that Hikari herself is a descendant of Volo, she thinks they ought to be family too, and Cynthia should have prioritized the family member who had done nothing wrong over the one who got himself possessed because he couldn't work out his issues and then murdered Hikari's six best friends. As far as Cynthia sees it, though, killing her brother would be unfair because she doesn't think he is at fault for the insurmountable torments he endured that allowed Rheia to possess him; Cynthia believes that Hikari's anger at Cyrus is due simply to the fact that she is so young and her wounds are so fresh and in time, she will mature to see that what happened to Cyrus really was not his fault.

Instead of a Championship match, she and Cynthia have had massive earth-shattering battles multiple times over this conflict--with Hikari fighting to kill, whereas Cynthia fights only to apprehend. On some level Hikari recognizes that by skipping the Championship battle and going straight to a murder attempt she has made things more difficult for herself; she could have ousted Cynthia and started running the region her way in a peaceful and ordinary Champion match, which she's now not allowed by the Sinnoh League to do. But on the other hand, she wouldn't have it any other way--because she would never have been satisfied with allowing those who she believes betrayed her to live.

Even Though Hikari Despises Volo And Wants To Kill Him Because She Thinks He Utterly Failed Her When
Even Though Hikari Despises Volo And Wants To Kill Him Because She Thinks He Utterly Failed Her When

Even though Hikari despises Volo and wants to kill him because she thinks he utterly failed her when she needed it most, she is literally just like him. Just. Like. Him.

Not so fun fact about Volo: He was formerly known for wiping out the ENTIRE GOVERNMENT AND LEAGUE OF A NATION if he knew its government had systemic problems, if even ONE person from his communes suffered grievous harm there, and if the legal system did not address it in a just way. He has changed the course of world history by doing this before. If someone from his communes got murdered, or raped, or became the victim of a hate crime or suffered any other similar thing, and the courts didn't do their job to get what they or their family would consider to be justice? He wanted every last person in that government DEAD. On local, provincial/state, federal and League levels. Even the "good ones," who many in that country would consider to be good government officials--because to Volo, there is no such thing as a "good" government official in a system that will allow such horrible miscarriages of justice; for him, thinking any government official in such a system could possibly be a "good one" is a failure of imagination since it doesn't hold politicians to a high enough standard. Everyone. Gone.

It's horrifying and he didn't stop until it actually got people who live in his communes banned from certain countries because no government was willing to risk him killing them all if he disagreed with a court ruling involving them. And even then, he threw a fit and didn't want to stop until his wife Amaya (the woman featured in this story) and husband Lanakila, the two voices of reason in his core polycule, fucking told him he needed to calm down and back off and promise to the nations of the world that he wasn't going to do it anymore.

Oh, Hikari hates Volo, but it's not because of things like this he's done in the past. She doesn't see anything wrong with this behavior whatsoever, and in fact, she has revenge fantasies of doing her own version of it to any nation that willingly and knowingly shelters Cyrus--and worse. She hates him so much that this mindset applies to just Cyrus, even though he's not the only one on her hit list; her main obsession, the one that approaches monomania, truly rests with killing the one who murdered so many of her friends. Given her late start in Pokémon battling compared to my other ridiculously OP muses and the fact that she hasn't been around as long as many of them, I'm not sure if she'd actually be strong enough to achieve that just yet, but if she could, she'd be willing to. She would plow through busy metropolitan areas full of innocent people until the government gave Cyrus up to her and then obliterate the government anyway just out of spite for having sheltered him in the first place. Does this make her not only like Volo, but also like Cyrus? Yes, absolutely, it does. She is aware that this possible irony exists, but frankly, she's so hell-bent on vengeance that she's past the point of caring.

Don't be fooled by Hikari's "Hero" title.

She is 100000000000000% a villain.

"One Annoying-ass Thing That Happens To Me Now That I'm A Living Reality Warp Is The Fact That Every

"One annoying-ass thing that happens to me now that I'm a living reality warp is the fact that every single time I try to take a sip of any liquid substance, it doesn't flow out of the container on its own. It sticks in there like it's all frozen over and I have to bang the bottom of the container to get the water, or tea, or juice, or whatever, into my mouth. The only way around this is if I pour the liquid into a bowl first and drink from it like a farm Pokémon drinking from a trough. It SUCKS."

Hikari's Original Team, The Ones That Died, Are Empoleon, Pachirisu, Crobat, Bibarel, Gastrodon And Garchomp.

Hikari's original team, the ones that died, are Empoleon, Pachirisu, Crobat, Bibarel, Gastrodon and Garchomp. With the exception of Garchomp, who she got from Volo, the rest are simply the ones she encountered in the "early route" areas of Sinnoh--or given to her by the official Sinnoh League starter distribution system, in the case of Empoleon.

I picked early route Pokémon on purpose and used some of the overlooked ones like Crobat, Pachirisu and Bibarel because I wanted her team to reflect that she prioritized friendship and so would pick common and overlooked Pokémon without necessarily looking for the best/rarest/most popular. I also left alone the fact that there are 3 entire Pokémon on that team weak to Electric and no Pokémon resistant to Dark despite the lack of balance really bugging me for two reasons. One, if you are picking based on friendship you wouldn't necessarily create The Perfect Balance. And two, it also could possibly explain how her whole team gets wiped by Cyrus. Cyrus' Houndoom canonically knows Thunder Fang, and 3 of the 5 Pokémon on his canon team are Dark-type. With such a weakness and not enough resistances to a core typing that he has, it would have left a huge vulnerability that he could exploit.

Actually Tho, This Image Is Peak Hikari. She Would Hate To Admit That She Was Ever A Lamb, But That's

Actually tho, this image is peak Hikari. She would hate to admit that she was ever a lamb, but that's really how she was for the first half of her life. She was an innocent, happy little lamb who had her innocence and happiness taken away from her when the shepherds in her life began to misuse their power and she lost her agency to policing and abuse; she grew teeth so that she could take it back. She goes to such extreme lengths now because ultimately deep down she is fueled by her memories of how powerless she was. The little lamb has been swallowed by those memories, and a vicious predatory beast has taken its place.

Made Cyrus' punishment after the events of DPPt significantly more severe. The section where it is mentioned now reads thus:

Arceus broke the tie in Cyrus’ favor; given his own fear and hatred of Rheia, he fell on the side that Cyrus’ possession was not his fault. Cyrus’ sentence was to be thus: His life would be spared, but he would only be allowed to travel in the Distortion World of this universe as he healed from the mental scars and warped psychology that the antimagical poisoning had left in him. As for other Pokémon worlds, he can only go as an astral projected version of himself, and he would be banned from heavily populated areas such as Sunyshore, Wyndon and Lilycove. If he ever took any sort of major social, political or economic leadership position, he would lose his right to be anywhere outside the Distortion World altogether forever until his next reincarnation–his astral projection would be instantly pulled from wherever he was at and an automatic binding spell would prevent him from ever leaving in any form again. He may eventually be allowed back into Risenverse, but that all depended on how well he did in treatment and how people felt about him being back there, and it would not be able to happen for at least fifty years.  However, this was not enough for Hikari. Hikari was pissed. Cyrus was facing severe consequences for his actions–but she felt like nothing less than the death penalty, delivered by Hikari herself, would make up for his murder of her Pokémon. And the fact that he might be eventually allowed back into the world he tried to destroy positively ENRAGED her even more. Furious, she reminded Arceus of how he had so cruelly punished her for her act of self-liberation in killing her abusive parents, and said she felt it was fundamentally unfair that at the same time he was allowing Cyrus to live when what he’d done–both to her and to others–was way worse. “Mercy has always been one of my values,” Arceus said. “Where was your mercy when I needed it?!” she shrieked.

fairy, for Hikari

Alolan Ninetales--because Ninetales hold grudges like a MOTHERFUCKER >:3

Gardevoir--famous for being able to create black holes, that is the type of wrath she would bring down on Cyrus

Whimsicott--brutal though she is she is not devoid of strategy and she doesn't judge her Pokémon friends solely based on appearances, she'd love to have a more subtle Pokémon on her team

Mawile--one of the more menacing fairies, based on a yokai with cool lore that I think Hikari would be very interested in

Grimmsnarl--can do double duty of having a role like Whimsicott's or being a more heavy hitter

Flutter Mane--the best Gen 9 competitive Pokémon, how could she not have that

Iron Valiant--the most violent brutal Fairy-type Pokémon on this list, in my headcanon it's a weapon designed specifically to be a murderous killing machine, she probably actually did go to Area Zero or Fallenverse to find one herself oooooh that gives me an idea :3

You Know Something Super Ironic? If Cyrus Hadn't Killed Hikari's Pokmon, She Would Have Had The Complete

You know something super ironic? If Cyrus hadn't killed Hikari's Pokémon, she would have had the complete opposite view of him that she does today. Currently, it's immaterial to her that Volo and Cynthia didn't want Cyrus dead because he was family; as a Volo descendant who was close with Volo and Cynthia, she knows she's family too, and she sees their decision to spare Cyrus' life as prioritizing the perpetrator of intra-family harm over the victim. But if Cyrus hadn't done anything too grievous to hurt her personally, she would have seen Cyrus as family too despite the many atrocities he carried out, and like the ones she now so hates, she wouldn't have wanted him dead because she also wouldn't have wanted to kill family. She would have fiercely defended Cynthia and Volo's advocacy to spare him from the death sentence, even against everyone in Sinnoh saying Cyrus needs to die. She might have even risked herself to protect him. But when he killed her Pokémon, he caused a personal wound so grievous and deep that even though she managed to get her original team back with her newfound ability to defy death, it may never be healed. It's the fact his actions so profoundly and personally affected her that caused her to have the opinion she did.

♟ — Does your muse believe in free will? Do they believe that people are mostly free? ♕ — What does leading a ‘good’ life mean to your muse? Are they satisfied with the choices they make?

both for hikari :3

♟ — Does your muse believe in free will? Do they believe that people are mostly free?

Does Your Muse Believe In Free Will? Do They Believe That People Are Mostly Free? What Does Leading

Hikari believes unconditionally in free will. If free will didn't exist, then her will wouldn't have allowed her to transcend the gods. Heck, a huge part of the religion she grew up with is about the importance of free will and choosing one's own path in life, sometimes even if that means questioning with the divine. And while she would never "stoop" to worshiping a deity anymore, a lot of Yumean principles have still stuck with her.

However, that doesn't mean that she thinks everyone is completely free. She knows that gods and whatever forces in the universe might be beyond them still have considerable influence over peoples' lives, and she holds herself as special and above everyone because she's the only person in existence who is completely immune to these forces. She knows that many people will not question when a god does something negative to them or that they will cry out in despair but ultimately do nothing; she believes that these people have willingly enslaved themselves to higher powers simply because they are too weak to challenge what the gods/"Fate" have decided. She's all about using her defiance of the gods to get the justice and other outcomes she thinks she deserves out of life, and she thinks everyone else should try to do the same--while at the same time believing herself to be the only person in human history who ever was or will ever be strong enough to attain the highest form of defiance against the cosmos. So basically, she has this very condescending "everyone should want to punch the gods in the face but I'm the best because I'm the only one who is able to do it perfectly." She's...so much.

♕ — What does leading a ‘good’ life mean to your muse? Are they satisfied with the choices they make?

Does Your Muse Believe In Free Will? Do They Believe That People Are Mostly Free? What Does Leading

There are two parts to what she thinks is a good life, which involve two incredibly different things. The first part of what she thinks it is is getting justice for herself and making sure the whole world knows her power and how special she is. This means bloody and torturous ends for Arceus, Giratina, Cyrus, Volo and Cynthia, and publicly stomping the shit out of anyone who tries to oppose her using her ungodly powerful reality warping abilities. The other part of what she thinks a good life is, though, is being able to spend time with those who mean the most to her. And her picture of that is continuing to do what she's doing now while she's on the run from the law--fucking off into the middle of nowhere so she can just enjoy life with her Pokémon. So basically, if she achieved her objective, she'd basically be Arceus' replacement but she'd also be a hermit who, after her objective was achieved, would not want to bother with anyone or anything, much less universe ruling duties. She has a whole lot of fantasies of using her abilities in a post-Arceus world to exact horrifying vengeance on both divine and mundane systems of power that mirror those which hurt her, but she hasn't completely thought through what else she'd do if she ever killed Arceus and essentially became the new ruler. She doesn't know this about herself, but if she ever got what she wanted and realized that becoming sovereign of the universe has responsibilities beyond getting even with everyone/thing that wronged you, she'd probably end up handing the position to one of her Pokémon.

As Much As Hikari Would Never Admit It Since She's Turned Her Back On Both Volo And Religion, In This

As much as Hikari would never admit it since she's turned her back on both Volo and religion, in this post she sure does show that she still believes in a huge, HUGE part of Volo and Giratinic philosophy. Volo's line of thought as the Archchosen of Giratina who is the god of chaos and change is that nothing lasts forever. Sometimes you can't get back what you had before...But what matters is what you build after it's gone.

Damn I just. Hikari is so fucked up that she sees a lighthearted gossip show on TV and her first instinct is to go “oh this show is about secrets? Here’s a secret, I killed my former best friend who betrayed me after I saved her life.” To her Pokémon egg no less. Like what the fuck that’s some Light Yagami serial killer type shit

if your muse had to be part of any evil or antagonistic Pokèmon Team, which one would it be? ( for any muse youd like )

If Your Muse Had To Be Part Of Any Evil Or Antagonistic Pokmon Team, Which One Would It Be? ( For Any
If Your Muse Had To Be Part Of Any Evil Or Antagonistic Pokmon Team, Which One Would It Be? ( For Any

Rainbow Rocket for both these assholes. Hell, I already have a headcanon that a Volo was part of the Rainbow Rocket that faced my Ultra Sun protag Hadasa, and me realizing both of them would gun for that team makes me want to include a RR Hikari as well. I'm not the most familiar with Rainbow Rocket's plot, but I do recall that Ghetsis wanted to use Giovanni to achieve his own aims and that'd be the angle that these two would go at it through. If they got their way, they would team up briefly to leave Lysandre a bloody smear on the wall because their shared social justice values make them incredibly hateful of the fact that Lysandre probably listened to Dead Kennedys' "Kill the Poor" and then took it literally. And then, immediately afterward, they'd tear each other apart.

If Your Muse Had To Be Part Of Any Evil Or Antagonistic Pokmon Team, Which One Would It Be? ( For Any

Team Magma for Asteria. Just as her faceclaim Korra was a waterbender but firebending better suited her personality, Asteria was raised primarily with Sootopolitan and Draconid culture but she always was best at the fire and earth aesthetics and magic of the Lavaridgeans. She's just as idealistic about the type of world she wants to see as Archie and Maxie were; perhaps in another universe, Maxie would have been able to sway her to see things his way and found a way into her heart by kindly guiding her to be more connected to her Lavaridgean culture. The decision to join Magma over Aqua would still have been a tough one, but in the end, it would be the one that she felt was right. Asteria thinks that in the alternate universe where she joined an evil team, it would have been Aqua, but she's also very cognizant of her affinity for fire. While the real answer would surprise her, it might also end up not being a surprise to her at all.

If Your Muse Had To Be Part Of Any Evil Or Antagonistic Pokmon Team, Which One Would It Be? ( For Any

Team Aqua for Wallace. One of my old headcanons about Wallace was that he grew up in an impoverished, predominantly Indigenous neighborhood where his uncle Archie's Team Aqua was very active in recruiting--but also in trying to provide for the community in ways that the Grand Hoenn League refused to. He often feels as though if his life had just one aspect to it that was different--like if his parents and sister weren't loving and supportive, or if the government had taken his Pokémon away (like they often did to Indigenous Hoennese people), or if something happened to make him drop out of school, or if his parents had failed to put food on the table on just one more occasion--he would have snapped and joined Aqua like so many other children from that neighborhood. Though his parents tried to keep him away from his uncle, they did meet a few times--and the promise of liberation that Archie offered in just those few conversations were actually a major part of sculpting his worldview. He's glad to be able to be with his uncle under much better circumstances, but the "what if" of what if he'd gone with him earlier is something he'll never forget. It's very "there but for the grace of the gods go I."

If Your Muse Had To Be Part Of Any Evil Or Antagonistic Pokmon Team, Which One Would It Be? ( For Any

Team Skull for Archie. I don't remember enough of SuMo to remember whether the found family aspect of Skull is canon, but it's my favorite aspect of Skull that multiple of my RP partners have had over the years. Archie was a troubled kid who grew up to be a troubled adult, and, well, Skull wouldn't have kept him out of trouble, but they would have been a found family for him--especially as they reformed, which a lot of Skull muns write about.

Well I Mean. There's One Problem That Killing Her Abusers Didn't Immediately Solve. And It's The Fact

Well I mean. There's one problem that killing her abusers didn't immediately solve. And it's the fact that while it gave her space to mentally heal, it didn't actually do the work for her of addressing the underlying mental health issues that her abusers left behind. She was on the way to recovery, but that got interrupted by her protagonist journey--the events of which re-aggravated the anger and bitterness she'd had under her abusers until she reached a point of no return. And while she has a right to be angry at what happened to her, others are also valid in pointing out that her anger has become incredibly damaging and self-destructive to her in a way that might prevent her from getting what she really needs.
