she hated that her vision was so shit these days. it was a handicap that certainly wasn’t beneficial to how the world was nowadays. it really was just her luck to end up with such a fate. so much for reading, stargazing… judging her peers from afar… most days she sat around, subjected to louis’ piano playing—and though she would never admit it, she liked it more than he ever deserved to know. and that was after she’d spent weeks cooped up in her bedroom, unwilling to grace the others with her presence.
but she was tired of just sitting around. she was getting antsy and needed to stretch her legs.
the sound of faint footsteps caught her attention, her head snapped in the direction of the sound. her eyes squinted in an attempt to make out the blurred figure, but they were still too far away for her to tell who they were.
“ who’s there ? ” she called, before clearing her throat. she needed something to drink.

nancy grumbled under her breath, doing her best to rub the coffee stain out of her skirt, only succeeding in making it worse, and resulting in her huffing out a string of expletives under her breath. it took her a moment to notice the person who’d noticed her, and she could feel her cheeks warming as she asked, “ how long have you been standing there…? ”
so far so...not great. this certainly HADN'T been how nancy wanted to start her day. though, she supposed she'd been having more of a bad WEEK than one, singular day, and she doubted things would look up any time soon.
