tumblr i so badly wanna talk about what scares me in horror so like

fucking ambient areas. dark ones with little sounds. theres something so horrifying about like, just being in the dark and hearing something move around or speak or just something falling.

like, if im playing a horror game and in an area covered in darkness, and i hear like footsteps or something, i WILL start panicking

i think its something about the uncertainty of whats nearby, or like, just thinking you were alone/were with only friends.

and sometimes random loud sounds in a quiet environment can be scary, but only because the shock of getting jumpscared by a sound our of nowhere.

other than that loud sounds dont really work

unless its like , a computer glitching sound.

thats another thing, horror that messes with your computer/makes you download random stuff scares me too, but thats just because im afraid of my computer getting a virus or dying.

ALSO i think like subtle body horror/amalgamations are disturbing, and if you see them in the dark then oh goodness gracious thats horrifying too.

anyways i just felt like talking about this since i like talking.
