A little fandom observation.
By now, if you’ve read CC or HOSAB, you are aware that Ruhn, perhaps the most popular character in the series, was told by an oracle that he would be the last of his line. As in, he cannot have children, by virtue of sterility or death.
So isn’t in interesting that NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE, has ever proposed that he couldn’t end up with Hypaxia (previously) or Day (currently) due to his potential infertility.
No one said that he doesn’t ‘deserve’ love, that he doesn’t ‘deserve’ a family, no one proposed that he couldn’t potentially adopt, or be a great uncle.
NO ONE.
Let’s compare this to Elain–who has NOT been deemed infertile by anyone in the book, who may or may not have had her anatomy changed by Nesta, and who may only have a 50/50 chance (or even less) of having a winged child. Elain, you see, doesn’t ‘deserve’ love, she doesn’t ‘deserve’ to be with Azriel, whom she wants and who wants her, she doesn’t ‘deserve’ a happy end. Not because something she did, not even because she was turned, but because potentially, she may have a winged child and does not have the ‘pliant bones’ to push it out.
Of course, Azriel, on the hand, just like Ruhn, absolutely, 100% DESERVES happiness and love and a family and must be with a female that will accommodate his happiness.
You see how crazy it sounds?
Yet people have absolutely no problem accepting both theories, and see no problem with them.
Okay, but no one is talking about how problematic that SJM is taking Indigenous beliefs for her books. There’s the Thunderbird in CC, but there are others, too. But as Thunderbirds are sacred, powerful being in my culture, I can talk about them more readily than others (ie, sk*nw*lk*rs rhymes with spin lockers in TOG, which you’re not even supposed to say). This is not the same level as faeries, and I have so many mixed feelings about her including Thunderbirds as part of her mythical beings canon, because it certainly doesn’t feel like she did so with enough respect. Also, the whole “they’ve been hunted to extinction” feels a lot like the Myth of the Vanishing Indian, which is not considerate. On the other hand, maybe it’ll get people interested in learning our histories outside of colonialism. But the inclusion of Thunderbirds and other Indigenous cosmological beings as part of her fantasy stories, ripped away from any semblance of their original context, with no credit to the cultures from which they originated, is incredibly upsetting, and a continuation of EuroAmericans taking our cultural traditions and histories for themselves, when we weren’t allowed to practice our religion until 1978. That’s my mother’s lifetime, for reference.

Sometimes a family is a sassy half fae princess, a lightning powered angel of death, a soft emo frat boy princeling, his jock and nerd best friends, a himbo merman and a totally confused wolf pup

Bryce because I'm such a simp for her ✨
Now that I have a strong feeling that Tharion and Hypaxia will end up together, I really hope that we meet a love interest for Ruhn in Hosab. He deserves all the love :((
Me manifesting a scene in cc3 where Ruhn beats the shit out of Pollux

Never understood the hype
Tharion *the fish* is the most overrated character in this series.
I said what I said.
Sarah saying cc3 will probably be her longest book ever 😳😳😳......ma’am koa was 1000 pages

So this is the ending of the story Day told to Ruhn...Could this be Sarah’s way of foreshadowing that they will end up together????
I need this! NOW!
So Nesta will definitely bring up to the IC that Merrill has been doing research on multiple dimensions and universes with Gwyn's support.
I can see that they'll likely keep Bryce's identity and origins a secret from anyone outside the IC but they'll bring in Gwyn because she can help Bryce in that regard.
Scholar Gwyn is on her way 😌
