I’ve seen so many people thinking Veritas would be a strict, overly demanding parent, but they forget this man is also a medical doctor and has absolutely studied childhood development and the way children learn. He's only unkind to adults who should know better; he knows children have certain limitations based on age.

I think he'd be delighted to watch his child fingerpaint or make a block tower, because he's literally watching his baby’s brain developing in real time as they experience the world.

Yes, he'd be inwardly bothered if his little one threw food, but he's intelligent enough to put the emotion to the side and understand that baby is just exhibiting the secondary circular reaction behavior pattern…. They're just throwing food to get a response from him.

Saw your "Veritas with a baby" idea, and. I feel like he'd be the kind of guy to avoid baby-talk. Like when the baby throws their bottle, he'd just pick it up and tell them that "Yes, the bottle still exists. It may have left your line of sight, but it is still there." It makes for a great way of getting a baby to sleep, especially when he lectures them on some complicated science stuff.

Ooooh, yes! I don’t think Veri is ever the “true baby talk” kind of guy, but he would know that using some characteristics of baby talk would help his child learn faster. So, I could see him speaking in complete sentences but slower and with more enunciation (especially when alone with baby).

I also think that around 16-18 weeks of pregnancy, when infants can first hear and respond to sounds, Veritas would suggest to his partner that they spend time reading to their child. It’s a tradition that he makes time for every single night, tucking his partner into bed and softly pulling them in close, caressing their stomach gently as he reads to the baby in the low light of their bedroom. Even if he has to be away on Intelligentsia guild business, he calls every single night to read to his family.

This only feeds into his uncanny ability to calm the baby once they're born. If Veritas’s partner has to be away and can't take baby with them, he baby wears while teaching and the child just snoozes away while their daddy explains quantum physics to his class.

Bonus: His baby inherits Veri’s eye color and “stare of death”, so when a student says something dumb they get two pairs of reddish-pink eyes glaring in their direction.

-tease him about it and he’ll repeatedly deny it while clinging onto you lol

-he may not seem to have any weaknesses, but his only acceptable weakness is you, his beloved partner

-he would do anything to have you stay by his side, like a loyal puppy ahem🛐😅

-despite him being needy, you tend to want his attention whenever he focuses on his books too much

-definitely has sculptures of you posing or the both of you doing lovey dovey stuff hehe

-and has fantasies about you and him (you decide what they are ;D)

-every time he thinks about you, he has to control himself, otherwise he’ll be distracted from work due to de-stressing himself 👀👀👀

-even if you want his attention and affection by putting away the book in his hand and cuddle him instantly, he doesn’t mind as long as he can hold you close like this

-people may think he only cares about knowledge, you know that he still has a heart despite his cold and stern demeanour

-a heart that what makes him…himself, who would tend to your needs and make you comfortable with little to no issue

-his heart may be cold, it would melt at your presence

-and it’s only reserved for you💜

Hey guys

Imagine being accepted by Nous and became one of the geniuses that Nous had approved. But due to working constantly, you start to become emotionless like Ruan Mei, no longer caring about your feelings, but you see Dr Ratio trying his hardest to earn Nous’ attention that makes you imagine him turning like you, so you warn him the consequences and reason why Nous hasn’t approved him yet.

But when he persisted he wants to continue, you could only imagine how it would change him as you keep on telling him. Subconsciously a few tears start to slip out and you’re confused what’s going on. You try to wipe your tears away but they just don’t stop. Your voice gets shaky ask him why aren’t they stopping…

He could only look at you in shock as he walks up to you and hugs you, attempting to calm you down. You slowly hug him back and sobs quietly on his shoulder, meekly telling him that it has been a long time since you had a hug…

Ratio ending any statement with "i'm a doctor so i know" or "i have 8 degrees so i know" to the most bullshit things like

Aventurine: "I love you"

Ratio: "I love you more, and I know this because I'm a doctor"

Or

Ratio: "You're the most beautiful man in the universe. I have 8 degrees I'd know"

Or like in response to Aventurine being insecure he's like "That's untrue. I have 8 degrees so I know."
