Saw your "Veritas with a baby" idea, and. I feel like he'd be the kind of guy to avoid baby-talk. Like when the baby throws their bottle, he'd just pick it up and tell them that "Yes, the bottle still exists. It may have left your line of sight, but it is still there." It makes for a great way of getting a baby to sleep, especially when he lectures them on some complicated science stuff.

Ooooh, yes! I don’t think Veri is ever the “true baby talk” kind of guy, but he would know that using some characteristics of baby talk would help his child learn faster. So, I could see him speaking in complete sentences but slower and with more enunciation (especially when alone with baby).

I also think that around 16-18 weeks of pregnancy, when infants can first hear and respond to sounds, Veritas would suggest to his partner that they spend time reading to their child. It’s a tradition that he makes time for every single night, tucking his partner into bed and softly pulling them in close, caressing their stomach gently as he reads to the baby in the low light of their bedroom. Even if he has to be away on Intelligentsia guild business, he calls every single night to read to his family.

This only feeds into his uncanny ability to calm the baby once they're born. If Veritas’s partner has to be away and can't take baby with them, he baby wears while teaching and the child just snoozes away while their daddy explains quantum physics to his class.

Bonus: His baby inherits Veri’s eye color and “stare of death”, so when a student says something dumb they get two pairs of reddish-pink eyes glaring in their direction.

Another headcanon for dr ratio is that hes actually really funny and loves to joke but nobody understands his sarcasm. Aventurine does tho theyre in love. (This also works with the masked fool theory)

More worm ratio thoughts. Would he be upset that hes the only Worm Man in history? Because then aven and ratio could bond over being the only one of their race known to be alive. Does he remember his childhood as a worm? Does he still identify with worms?? Is he like. A worm therian? Is he wormkin?

In the spirit of aventurine does anyone wanna bet on if the worm theory is gonna be confirmed in some way. I know the chances are slim but *aventurine voice* i dont make deals that dont pay off.

I feel the need to elaborate on why i think Aventurine is a top and Ratio a bottom. Aventurine has trauma with not being in control of his situation, of course he would want to take control in the bedroom. And Ratio has a high stakes job with a lot of responsibility, of course he would wanna relax and let someone else take care of him in the bedroom. Not to mention Ratio is known to be seceretly a softie or a tsundere. I'm not gonna judge anyone who prefers top Ratio and bottom Aventurne hell I'm glad you're having fun but i do think its out of character

I think we as a fandom overestimate Ratios seriousness. I know on the outside hes mostly blank faced and strict but on the inside hes probably like "ehe blonde boy so prety....."

I want more aventio/ratiorine fics with Ratios inner monologue about Aven. Of him being hopelessly in love with Aven like he is. Especially ones that contradict how he speaks out loud or makes him sound like the softie that he is or sounds like the aventurine fans talking about him lol like "god hes beautiful" "hes so out of my league" "i want him" "i hope our children have his eyes" and then hed go "WHY WOULD I THINK THAT '^'!!!"

What if the reason Ratio is so on the offensive around everyone is because as a kid he or his emotions were never taken seriously so he stopped trying to be open and vulnerable with anyone since it'd always end embarassingly. If he was a "mature for your age" type and had big academic achievements as a young kid (which are reasonable assumptions tho we dont know his backstory) it would make sense. His assertiveness would also make sense if he has to use everything he had in order to be heard

Ratio ending any statement with "i'm a doctor so i know" or "i have 8 degrees so i know" to the most bullshit things like

Aventurine: "I love you"

Ratio: "I love you more, and I know this because I'm a doctor"

Or

Ratio: "You're the most beautiful man in the universe. I have 8 degrees I'd know"

Or like in response to Aventurine being insecure he's like "That's untrue. I have 8 degrees so I know."

I like to imagine him having silly childish interests since if he's autistic it'd make sence. Autistic people rarely "grow out" of their childhood interests. I think that's what his obsession with rubber duckies is aswell lol
