I Am Reading - Tumblr Posts

So I have started reading Throne of Glass and got all the books from the library besides Kingdom of Ash, someone was faster than me and checked it out 😭.

I watched a video to see what order to read the story in and i really like the orders provided, but i know myself and given that there are already hints of the novellas, I’m probably going to read assassin’s blade next. If i wasn’t so sleepy i would have at least been about half way through, but my eyes are struggling rn cuz i didn’t get enough sleep last night 😪.

As for what i wanted to say to begin with (because i get really sidetracked lol), someone mentioned that a lot of people drop the book because the first one is kind of bland. I can’t see the blandness that much honestly. The little hints we are getting for MC’s backstory is really intriguing and i just read Dorian get slapped in the face by the king. I love drama. And let’s not forget the writing style, I feel closer to the characters with the way SJM wrote everything, or maybe im just so used to 3rd POV from reading fanfics lol. Either way, I noticed that I was instantly getting attached to MC (im blanking on her name, forgive me), Dorian (though he a hoe, i can already tell), and the captain of the royal guard (blankin on him too, i have goldfish brain 😪).

I just realized, i always get attached to the characters regardless 😭 so nevermind on that, but the writing does pull you in. I already see the POV switches everyone was talking about and while in red queen it hurt to read a switch, i know its going to be important for whatevers to come, that’s what it taught me. Patience 😭

I have the sinking feeling that the ship i chose will sink… we always meet the love interest first and it wasn’t the guy i want her with 😭. Welp ill take the crumbs

Update: i once again spoiled myself and my ship indeed didn’t end up together. They all just flings to each other apparently 😭 i wish i didn’t look through the tags,, but i really wanted to see art. My fault.

I’m at the point where the book is getting kinda creepy. Ion mind gore and fighting. But start talking about dark tunnels and whispering in the dead of night,,, yeah nope (especially since i read in the dead of the night myself).

Not to mention the part im up to is showing some sort of evil force taking over the duke. Makes sense that the evil spirit or whatever it is needs some sort of host to see what’s happening and such. But Chaol better be careful cuz the duke was staring while he was leaving the dining hall.

I have only three ( i think?) thoughts

Nehimia used the wyrdmarks to gain power for her rebellion

Cain is the one doing the wyrdmarks cuz he’s confident in the thought that he’s gonna win

OR we are being misled and someone who hasn’t been named yet or in the shadows is the one doing the work.

Something is making me point at cain rather than nehemia. She was cold to Celaena when they talked in the library before the ball, but why was she pained the next day? It couldn’t have been for show. As for cain, the fucker was digging at one of the stones a lot of chapters ago. My only concern is that nehemia, even while saying she’s a friend to Celaena, she has yet to even tell her anything even when she knows about what wyrdmarks are.

Also it’s crazy that this is all happening after the king left to do his royal duties. I get that it makes the most sense to do it then, but damn whoever summoning the demons (which is what im guessing is the evil being) is annoying as shit.

Anyway can’t wait for dorian and celaena to fool around. I see that they like each other but with spoilers i know they don’t last 😭. I also know something that gets revealed in later books and im sad that i know that. I already knew she wasn’t an average girl,,, like you the main character ain’t know way u just an assassin, but i would have liked to piece her identity together myself 😭.

So,, my memory got back and cain was scared one of those days. I can’t remember when but he was clawing at his throat and ran away in front of celaena. So damn it might just be nehemia.

Ah before i forget!!

Mr Dorian highness, please don’t be like Maven Calore(red queen).

I’m hoping your similarities end at your appearance. My black hair and blue eyed boys 😭 and both princes at that. If I have to suffer through the pain of what happened with Maven with Dorian,, I might need an hour break from reading (because i will continue even while in pain 😂).

THEORY: what if the king is also a creature or being from another world? If the feeling celaena is getting from him is the same as the one that the portals summoned by cain give her,,, then he too must be magic related.

Maybe he got rid of all magic to be the only one to Weald it. But it doesn’t make sense when it comes to the wyrdmarks and gates. Why keep the knowledge of those around? Whatever the case, this is a half baked theroy anyway. Tis just smthn that crossed my mind.

(Just started chapter 44, the king is back from the trip he was on and he crossed paths with celaena and chaol.)

If Kingdom of Ash is referring to his kingdom, then great. Can’t wait to see this fucker somehow suffer.

My guess for the second book is that she’ll see the plans slowly unravel and keep track of them along with getting the kings weakness. But of course that has to wait. Knowing it’s going to be stopped at a cliffhanger, I’m going to start on Assassins blade. I really want to know everything that’s being referenced to as well.

Oohh and they gave a hint to her fae lineage through queen Elana’s words, which was cool. I already guessed as much in the beginning when they were in the forest bringing her to the glass castle and she found tiny footprints next to her along with flowers (and of course mentioning the forest and those who used to protect them).

I just want to know more about her parents and the wyrdmarks because how does Nehemia know them but she doesn’t. Especially when since she’s a descendant of the fae. Unless, the fae don’t dabble in those arts and rather use environmental/natural magic.

Anywho im excited. I heard there’s a novella that’s especially heart wrenching and im betting it on being sam’s story with celaena.

My hatred for the king of the assassins just keeps getting worse and worse. I already knew that since he couldn’t convince Celaena to take on a mission which will lead to more slavery, he would once again hide the details and make her do the opposite and a mission where she didn’t need to talk too much.

Like i get it, the guy ( the person she has to kill) is a sleezebag, but ain’t no way abonion (i refuse to say his name right) was going to change his mind on slavery just because he upset her. I didn’t even finish reading the assassin and the underworld and just went to this one video im watching to confirm my suspicions. Fuck u airbin!

Like how would the enemy have all this information? They might have bits and pieces but idk it threw me off even more when she found the documents under the wooden floorboard. I want to hurt arbun so bad, fuckin dickhead.

Besides that! She saw dorian and chaol!! It doesn’t specify that it’s him but who else is important enough to be wearing a mask to hide their identity and not to mention dorians dark hair and sapphire eyes and chaols amber ones. That part had me hyped and chapter 10 has me mad 😭

I hate reading slumps 😒 I was able to read the kingdom of the wicked trilogy while i was in the slump but it still hasn’t gotten me out of it even though the series itself was a page turner.

As for Innate Magic, I started it yesterday and I can’t seem to read at a constant pace like i usually do. Like don’t get me wrong, after the first 100 pages I was fully invested but it isn’t enough because my brain wants to do 2 things at once and i don’t even know what the other thing is.

Predictions: The doctor guy is going to be exposed.

After a few more things are confirmed (like andrew’s mom being involved, whatever pdsd shit Hector is going through..) I feel like someone is going to get hurt. I just have to hope it’s not Thomas,, he’s my favorite and Andrew,,,though ngl as sweet as he is, he is a little suspicious.

Oh right Variety (or whatever her name was 😭) is gonna most definitely dip after she deals with publishing the scandal article on her biological father.

So was no one,, NO ONE going to tell me Aaron is such an asshole in the first chapters ( i don’t know if he gets better or not)

All i hear about this man is that he’s a book boyfriend. LADIES HES NOT EVEN STARTING OUT MORALLY GRAY! He’s my favorite color instead: red.

Like I’m loving the villain vibes but how is this guy gonna win her over. I say it like this because he wants his soldier to chase her knowing full well that he will be harmed if he touches Juliette, this mofo ahhhhh.

Questions like these make me remember that i’m reading a YA book.

I have a theory. But i don’t know how good the theory really is. So in the blurb it says that this is somewhat a superhero story and knowing that Warner is endgame for Juliette, it made me think that he could possibly have his plans for the rebellion. It is now specifically stated that he is a part of the reestablishment and was able to get the position through hard work and his dad. But something tells me that he has bigger plans and that’s why he needs this position.

In this chapter, he shoots a man through the forehead for helping the rebels. My guess is that if the soldiers are caught doing these acts he has no choice but to kill them, or else his position would be put into question and his motives as well.

Now…let’s keep reading and see how stupid this theory is 😪

I started Unravel me, lemme tell you…

I spoiled it a little for myself. Luckily, i’m pretty sure what i let myself search up was very small compared to the bigger picture.

Okay so, I already had an inkling about something when in the previous book when Warner touched Juliette. If it had only been Adam, I too would have thought it was a lucky coincidence, but since Warner can too, it means something bigger is at play.

I had a feeling that these two also had powers (I already thought warner did because ik that him and Juliette are endgame and powers are the only explanation,, can’t be ml without being powerful too) so i searched it up and badda bung badda boong…they have powers.

I’m only on chapter 4, and adam is already showing signs of weakness towards Juliette’s touch (another thing i spoiled myself with, but this time it was unwanted info..it was in the little google summary about Adam also having powers). I can’t wait for the reason people hate on Adam,,idk why i feel like it’s going to happen in this book when the next novella is in his pov,,hmm 🤔.

I should stay off of tiktok though, i’m scared there are things regarding the plot, world conflict wise, that might just hit me in the face and suck all the fun out of those specific parts.

Aaron is baby girl first of all, back tattoo and one around his hip area?

Juliette’s ‘who did this?’ To his scars had me in a CHOKEHOLD because it’s usually the guy! Juliette about to burn the world for this boy and she doesn’t even know why yet ahhhhh.

I love love love them! He’s so dopey but i was hoping for some sassy moments. (I guess we can include the moment when he’s being escorted around by castle and once he sees Juliette and Adam talking he has his jealous moment. He sounded sassy there.)

The whole of chapter 25 has my heart. The way i feel so happy right now.

Aside from that…

Aaron changing personalities when it comes to who he talks to, THE SMILE he beamed at Juliette ate my heart.

Aaron’s interaction with james, to me it was such a precious moment!

Adam being a A class dickhead, he better fix his act up. He might of lost her as his girl but he doesn’t have to dig the hole further and lose her as his friend. But we’ll see how important that really is to him in the coming chapters.

I finished Ignite me 🧍‍♀️

Usually I would write my thoughts out in the journal app along with a summary of what I read so far, but not this time.

I breezed through the story with very few pauses. All i can say is I very much loved what happened.

Though this is very different from other books. It’s like a contemporary but it just happens to be in a fantasy/dystopian world.

I wonder if the guy who was doing the sound wave booms is going to be in the next book and how they are going to get all the soldiers and citizens of their continent(?) to start rebuilding but also prepare for the inevitable war that’s to come with the rest of the commanders. I hope now that this has happened they’ll be able to find more people with the mutation for power.

Juliette and Aaron are so cute though 😭 I love them. KENJI I HOPE U GET URSELF A BAE TOO.

Spoilers in this for anyone who hasn’t read Restore me!!

Now that the warning is out of the way. OMG the ending literally has me in a chock hold. What do you mean her parents are the supreme commanders of Oceania?? I get that there was the tiny hint that they had no kids should have been obvious, because all these fuckers have kids.

In the back of my mind i was actually hoping she wasn’t a part of the whole powerful lineage shit, but it should have been expected sighs. Especially since this is fantasy and the secret identity always has to do with being someone of high status even if they are originally portrayed as another peasant like the rest of us.

Also Aaron groveling?? Never thought I would be the type of person to be into that shit (i have always been into that shit 😂). And Kenji and Nazeera like don’t get me started. Precious the both of them.

I wonder how they are going to all get back together and how this is experience is going to shape Juliette. Because her parents did a bunch of shit to her, killed her friends, detained the ones they didn’t kill (from my understanding) and they think she’s going to nicely go down for dinner because it’s getting cold?? REVENGE ARC PLEASE WITH A CHERRY ON TOP. Let em rip Juliette!
