I’m going to be totally 100% candid and honest for a sec, I hope you all don’t mind.
I write for me, first and foremost, but nothing makes me want to stop writing more than a poor response. I do my best not to analyze notes but that’s just not how it works. Writers write for themselves a lot of the time but we need support and motivation and validation too.
I don’t get that on my fics that aren’t Geraskier (Lambden does pretty well though, actually).
I love writing them, I have a ton in the works, but it sucks to post them and not get love.
And it’s especially frustrating to get on tumblr after I write this stuff to see people complaining about how little content there is. Why would there be more? We aren’t getting support from it!
So, I made a list. This list is made up of writers that provide content that is NOT Geraskier. Most of them also write Geraskier, but they all provide something else. This list has their tumblr, ao3, and a list of pairings they write.
If you want to see more content, the GO SUPPORT THEM. REBLOG THEIR FICS. LEAVE COMMENTS. SEND A DM, AN ASK. INTERACT WITH THEM AND LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE HERE AND APPRECIATE THEM AND WANT THEM TO KEEP DOING WHAT THEY DO!
I know that in a lot of cases, particularly underrepresentation, there are a lot of different layers to these issues and it’s very complex but we have to do something and I hope this list is a helpful step. And if you have any ideas for more ways to help increase representation then let me know! I’m not really the biggest blog out there but I know some people and I’m sure we can get a good spread of information.
And overthink if i should post it or not :))

About 10 days ago now I was reading the book of 1 Chronicles reviewing the life of King David, and I just got this really battleworn version of the commander of David’s army, Joab, in my head. He came out looking like this. God helped, we kinda collabed on the design on the bottom there as he gave me ideas for Joab’s design. I did some research on ancient Israeli armor too but ultimately I think it was God’s suggestions that really made this picture happen. So anyways yeah. Some oldish art, thought I’d post it up.
Tumblr really is the superior social media because when someone is keysmashing or typing in all caps in the tags of your post, there is this particular sense of victory: I am having a good grade at Tumblr posts, something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve

This is unrelated to the story but I was wondering where you find reference images for cats? All the art you do for RisingClan is so beautiful and the cats always have such cool and interesting poses. I struggle to find anything but super basic photos of cats online (like just generic sitting or standing poses,) and I really want to find more complex poses to study. Also, I’ve been drawing refs for a bunch of my own ClanGen kitties and their poses are starting to look very same-y, so I’m desperate for some pose Inspo lol

I use pinterest, mostly. I have a board full of cat photos that i browse through when i need a reference. To find them I search things like "cat running" "cats fighting" "cats walking side by side" and then I let myself wander through the recommended pictures and save whatever I like. Hope this helps! Another idea I had was yokai exterminators who eat the yokai to subdue them
Like, the guy is stuck with a large, fighting and squirming belly, and he has to use his extermination techniques to "purify" them. So he (and/or potentially his partner) is slapping spell tags on to the surface of his big belly to keep them at bay. Potentially wincing each time he does so, making his stomach wobble and gurgle loudly
He could also wrap a shimenawa (those large ropes) around his gut to keep the yokai trapped. It also squeezes the yokai and helps restrict their movements... but if they start fighting more, what's to stop the exterminator from tightening the rope~?
He could also bathe the evil spirit in holy sake to help exterminate it... but that may have consequences. Potentially, both him and the yokai in his gut both laughing their heads off, or him getting a better tolerance to the pain of the squirming (even getting more food), or even the exterminator just passing right out like a light
And that's not even mentioning the different kinds of yokai he could eat! Getting a glowing stomach from sealing some chochin-obake (lantern yokai), or a noisy belly that clanks as he walks from eating tsukumogami (living items/tools), or even getting second hand drunk from eating an oni, and the list goes on!
