something i haven’t seen ppl talking about is the “‘you’re telling me you’ve never had a drink with friends after a tough day?’ ‘we don’t have tough days in heaven’” and “i’ve never made a mistake in my fucking life” lines we get from adam cause i feel like they highlight so much about heavens injustice

if they are holding sinners in literal HELL to the same standards as they hold for themselves in heaven, who’s to say they don’t hold the desperate and needy, those who did wrong because they were threatened or in danger, to the same standards as the rich, powerful, well-off, and strong? a mother stealing in a desperate attempt to ward off starvation for her children has committed the same crime as a upper class white dick-head stealing a car for the fun of it.

(which also brings me to one of my biggest issues with real life christianity/catholismand the idea of original sin but that’s another post)

“the rules are black and white” and they meant that LITERALLY, they don’t care about circumstances, there is no elaboration, if you tick the box, you go to hell, no questions asked

and then adam saying he’s never made a mistake??? he lost his wife to the literal devil cause he was such a dick?? and he literally ALSO ATE THE APPLE????? THE VERY THIBG THAT DAMNED HUMANITY?? i don’t know exactly what direction the show will take in s2 but i am hoping we see more elaboration of the blatant bigotry and bias in heaven. the system that empowered men and demonized women from the beginning of humanity.
