Mavuika in my redesign. I've made her more ancient. Mavuika is a direct reference to the goddess Mahuika from the Maori people, you can read about her, it's interesting.

in the grocery store. satoru is walking back and forth, eyes searching for a clerk nearby.
“excuse me”, he finally spots one. “can i have a minute?”
“yes?— yes, sure”, a boy, visibly in his early twenties and most likely a part-timer, stops in his tracks. “how can i help you?”
satoru points towards the vegetable isle. “there — you see?”
the boy squints, following the direction his finger indicates. “see what exactly?”
“the one picking tomatoes”
“? …. yeah?” — puzzled, he responds.
“can you believe it—”, an amused smile festers on satoru’s lips and grows into a short, barely audible laugh (one that is usually born from surprise or disbelief) before he continues, which the boy interprets as the calm before the storm — maybe this gentleman had some sort of unpleasant confrontation with the person over there…?
“—that’s my wife”
…or maybe not?
the concern on the boy’s face persists. “okay? — did you have a fight? or do you need some sort of assis—“
“no? we don’t fight, ever — she yells at me and i apologize, but that’s not the case here. you’re missing the whole point”, satoru looks down at the guy, slightly annoyed now — but whenever he glances back your way the smile returns to his face.
“and the point is?”, the boy genuinely questions.
“she’s my wife”
p.s. the point is, satoru is crazy in love. and he often makes it everyone else’s business too. stopping strangers in the grocery store to let them know you are his wife is only one way to go about it.
Finished it!
Then the light faded, and he was gone.
