WINRY IS NOT ALONE!
Sometimes I see something along the lines of:
“cos is bad because Winry is left all alone!”
Yes, it’s sad that Winry won’t ever see Ed and Al again, but all alone?
She’s surrounded!
She’s got Sheska, Pinako, Den, Paninya, Gracia, Elicia, Rose, Armstrong, other people I might be forgetting, and anyone else she might’ve met during the two years of Ed being away and Al lurking around Amestris.
She’s already lived two years without Ed, and an amnesiac Al. After COS, she may not know much about the place Ed returned from with all these flying machines except for maybe some details Al might have told her when talking about his dreams, but she finally has some closure. Ed is alive, he’s living in that someplace else. And now instead of searching around for his brother and dressing like him, Al is with Ed in the other world.
Two of her dearest friends may be lurking off in some place she can’t reach, but if Ed could return after two years and deliberately went back to the other place, as far as Winry knows, the brothers can survive wherever it is they went.
And so Winry’s life lives on, surrounded by all the friends she still does have in Amestris!
