Danny stares at the hero in front of him and mumbles, "I knew I should've left sooner." Before Flash can ask about that he sighs and drops his bag, "they tried to take her? So she's fine?"
"Yeah, she's at a safehouse." He nods and steps back into his apartment, it's practically empty. Not that there was much stuff to begin with but everything he had managed to buy and make the apartment more homey was gone. Packed into boxes and stuffed in a closet with everything important in his bag.
"That's good." He says plainly opening his bag and finding the modified phone that he used for contact with Tucker and Sam.
"You planning on going somewhere, kid?" He could hear the concern (and slight suspicion) in the hero's voice but elected to ignore it in favour of getting the information he needed onto a spare USB stick.
"Not a kid," he mumbled as he downloaded the data.
"Sure." Danny couldn't bring himself to care about the sarcasm and instead dropped the USB into Flash's hand and picked up his bag.
"Don't come looking, don't do anymore research on me. If the GIW think you know anything about me or where I am they'll try take you again, and they're not going to give up so easily," he stretched and walked towards the door, "the USB has any information you might need about the GIW and The Anti-Ecto Acts. Maybe that'll help you understand." He walked out the door, praying that the information drop would distract Flash long enough for him to make an escape, especially now he knew that the GIW were in town and using his powers would only draw attention to himself.
He barely got down the street before a wd burst appeared next to him.
"You know the Anti-Ecto Acts were a scrapped bit of legislation, right?" Danny froze
Danny's reveal goes...not so well. To put it lightly. He's gonna have to pretend to be an adult. At fifteen. Which he can definitely do!
Before he left, Sam and Tucker had conspired to get him a fake ID and set him up with a landlord they could blackmail into accepting him as a tenant.
He moves to Keystone City, and he is, indeed, very adulty.
He buys a Dutch Oven that he doesn't really know how to use. He reads the newspaper comics. He gets a job as a paid intern at the local news station, and he answers to the fancy scary lady reporter Linda Park. He uses that job to pay rent and stuff.
Very adulty.
Except that Miss Scary Reporter Lady Linda keeps asking questions she shouldn't. Keeps looking where she shouldn't.
And she won't drop it.
If she actually investigates, she'll find Danny's real name, and then his parents, then the fact that he's wanted by the United States Military for existing, and she'll get hurt by the GIW when they pull her in for questioning.
So he laments his sweet, sweet apartment, packs his bag of essentials (again), and opens the door to do another runner.
He opens it to see the Flash, Linda's...boyfriend? Husband? Danny isn't sure, but he's standing right there, in uniform, looking unimpressed.
"So." Flash starts, crossing his arms.
"...'Sup?" Danny asks, knuckles white as he grabs the strap of his bag.
"Some creeps in white suits just tried to kidnap Linda," Flash says, leaning on the door frame. "Don't supposed you know anything about that, huh?"
a world full of laughter and light
a woodland bustling with life
oh how everything seems so bright
before the coming of strife
sometimes I wish I was a pirate
the ocean ahead washing over me
cleansing me of my worst fears, of myself
drowning out my cries of suffering
