something that haunts me whenever i think about lost tv broadcasts and promos is that my dad used to tape a lot of Star Trek TNG back in the 80s as they were airing, including the promotional ads, but because the tapes took up too much space he had to throw them out. my dad could easily have had Star Trek lost media on those tapes and i'd have no idea because they're long gone now. holy shit

i know it seems silly to get this fucked up over promotional stuff but you need to understand i'm crazy about archival and history and i-
-think special promotional ads deserve to be archived for their historical and cultral importance. especially for something like star trek.
i want so badly to know what watching st:tng was like in 80s australia. i NEED to see it.
they could be rare. they could be special. they could be completely insignificant in every way. but they are still important to me.
my dad even said himself that he isn't sure if some of the ads he recorded are even on youtube
