I just realized that I completely forgot to announce that I finally published the first chapter of Gaia’s story on here! Oh shit!
Well, uh, tada! On Halloween, I finally posted the first chapter of Gaia’s story, The Dragon’s Flight on AO3!

Rambling about Gaia
Deadass, I absolutely adore Gaia. She provides me a narrative I rarely get to see in anime fandoms. Even though I’m the one writing her. She’s seen as strong by people around her, but in truth, she’s putting up a front. She is afraid and nervous but doesn’t want others to see.
She has her own doubts about herself. She doesn’t truly see her own capabilities and abilities. She’s always underestimating herself but puts on the mask of self confidence. She thinks she knows herself now and when we get further into the story, when that belief is shaken and ripped apart, she’s gonna realize that even before, when she thought she was *********, that she didn’t know herself at all.
She’s going to have weak moments She’s going to have painful moments She’s gonna have times where all she wants to do is give up and lay on the ground. It’s tempting to write a black girl as strong all the time. Never showing fear or weakness
Always knowing what to do.
But...that wouldn’t be true at all. Because that isn’t true.

The Dragon’s Flight Update!
Chapter 7 of Gaia’s story; The Dragon’s Flight is finally out!
This chapter is mostly Gaia and Kagome chilling and taking a break that they rightfully deserve.
Also, before someone asks
No, Gaia is not related to Kagura in any way, shape or form.
I’m saying this because on my other social media, someone asked me that and i just want to be clear and not ruin anyone’s expectations.

Chapter 7 of Gaia’s story; The Dragon’s Flight is finally out!
This chapter is mostly Gaia and Kagome chilling and taking a break that they rightfully deserve.
Kagome and Gaia’s Friendship
You know what I loved most about Chapter 8?
The friendship and teamwork between Kagome and Gaia. And the way they support each other.
This is Kagome’s and Gaia’s first fight (technically Gaia’s 2nd but she slipped into a haze midway in that one sooo....yeah) and the first time they (attempt) to use their powers with precision.
Even when people were doubting them, the girls were able to make up a plan and communicate effectively with minimal chatter. A sentence or two, a gesture, and that was all that Gaia needed to understand. They combined their powers, that they barely understand yet, and pulled it off perfectly!
Well, almost perfectly.
Kagome trusts Gaia to have her back in dangerous times and Gaia trusts Kagome with the same thing, Despite being friends for a short amount of time, they were able to pull off a seemingly stupid plan pretty easily imo.
Its so cool to see and even cooler to write and it almost makes me regret what I’m about to do in the upcoming chapters........

The Dragon’s Flight has been updated!
Chapter 9 is finally up and there is a little explanation to my absence in the notes at the end. The chapter is kinda shorter than normal because it is more focused on Gaia and her thoughts and feelings about everything and Kagome helping her.
Some wholesome time between the two.

Age: 90-100 (she ate the flesh of a Ningyo at age 20) born 9 years before the Sengoku Period
Occupation: Priestess, mentor and Guardian of her village
Contacts: Shinchu, Okami, Jorōgumo, Oni & Tatsugitsune (Garma her traveling companion)
She's Japanese but also decent of Chinese immigrants from her father's side
She was born and raised on a bamboo farm till she was 13 when most of her family was murdered by demons

Has traveled throughout Asia for years before being summoned by her nephew to return to her home village immediately then informed her that her twin sister's health is declining fast and she wants to see
