This chapter just feels so much heartbreaking in its beauty.
Did you notice Takahashi's use of images and onomatopeias? The way we can hear that "BOMP" of Kagura's heart as she sees Sesshomaru? To think that the very first thing she's felt through that so much wanted heart of hers just after got it was pain, and pain alone, physically and emotionally, and yet now she finally is able to feel something good, like a tiny light within warming her.
Naraku once again meant to prove his point that the lives of the weakest are meaningless. At least this time he could not win.
I would write pages upon pages about this chapter alone, maybe some day.
Also, please have a look at THIS COVER, THIS TITLE 💔😭

And here Sesshomaru decided spontaneously to intervene and silence Jaken before he might get Kagura in trouble with his big mouth.
That's hardly something SESSHOMARU does for anyone.

Oh my God 😭 that thought of yours was so well conceived! Yes! Of course Kagura being seen for what SHE is just means for her to be free.
And yes, there are many clues of a bond between Sesshomaru and Kagura and yet people will deminish Sesshomaru’s feelings for her. I’m not even implying that she is his big love, for whatever it is that Sesshomaru feels still is in germ, but, let’s be serious, you can’t say that it's nothing.
Probably the thing is that you keep in mind his strong reaction at Rin's second death, thus making this less outstanding, but those same feelings Sesshomaru expresses openly in that moment are the result of a growth of his character during the whole course of the story, a growth in which Rin of course is his North Star (I hate to have to specify it, but please don't take this romantically, bc IT'S NOT that), but she's not its only reason.
I mean, here he looks so sad.

However poetic it is to think of Kagura becoming the free wind, I’m not really able to move on from that “Even Tenseiga can’t save her”. Why? Explain at least, those words keep me up at night! Watching the anime I had the feeling that she simply had enough of it all, but somehow the manga sounds different, although that could be due to some translation differences (?)
And no, I don’t think she should die as to atone her sins either. Sesshomaru’s are even greater for that matters, though we are fine with him still hanging around. (I know that Takahashi’s original plan actually was for him to die saving Rin or whoever was the character she had in her mind back then, and well… I’m glad she didn’t do that!).
P.S. That pic is from an ending, but I can't remember which episode.

The worst part of sessrin fandom is that they can't even see the real beauty in Sesshomaru's and Rin's bond, they really think that Sesshomaru's character development required him to fall for a human woman like his father, but it's NOT like that, what Sesshomaru feels for Rin indeed is love, it just is not romantic love, damn, love doesn't need to be romantic to be true, a father's love IS love.
Moreover, the mere fact that he could develop feelings for Kagura, who in his mind should be a lesser being, IS character development! If all his change just begins and ends with Rin, where true change is?

NOOOOOOOOOO
Moryomaru just trolling Inu and Sessh

Mmmh, I don't know, I kinda think that this time the translation which sounds more right is the official one?
That "You said... You'd always protect her"... Who is "You" supposed to be? Who "her" is?

I don't remember where I read this or who said it but my biggest thanks to you person who made me realize that Sesshomaru here is practically referring to himself as "Rin's home".
Whenever I think of it I feel just like this:

Some of my favorite moments

Sesshomaru's face here is EVERYTHING, far better than his anime counterpart's. That face's got written all over "I could almost laugh". I'm crazy for his dry humour and in The Final Act I DO miss it.

The mere fact that as Inukimi says THOSE words we are shown Rin's life in very precarious conditions 💔💔💔

Lord I-go-merely-to-slay-the-hound Sesshomaru

And instead we got this 😭🤬🤦🏻
That beautiful "She lives" trashed simply as that. Folly!
Also: in Sesshomaru's gesture to barely touch Rin's hair there's a gentleness, a delicateness... In the anime you can't even figure where he is placing his hand exactly, it almost seems he is enveloping all her face 😔
But to piss me off is that the small screen of the Meido Stone through which we see this scene prevents us from sharing Sesshomaru's point of view. And this basically is my problem with this whole episode's anime adaptation. Everything just feels so "screened", so "distant".
The manga though does manage to balance all things so that Inukimi's and Jaken's intermissions are not so much intrusive.

Okay. Uhm. You know. This is the cover of chapter 469 and it's located right after Sesshomaru's mother says "The darkness from which there is no return lies just ahead of you" (precisely when Kohaku says that Rin is not breathing anymore) and before the panel just below. Well... I like to think that that image of Rin is what comes instinctively to Sesshomaru's mind as soon as the darkness swallows him.

It's VERY meaningful that Sesshomaru doesn't ASK out loud if Rin is dead (with that aloof tone of the anime, what's more) but is trying to PROCESS the fact that Rin could be dead. The manga is really saying that he still is in shock.
Moreover I want you to notice that Kohaku's expression is far more affected by what is happening than it's shown in the anime where he almost acts like a robot (why?!).

And SESSHOMARU'S expression while he keeps repeating "Dead?!" in his mind oh Jesus 🤯💥💣 I bet he never, NEVER hated Tenseiga more and that's saying something.
And he'll say "I won't leave you here!", "I won't let you die!", thus continuing to use words like "dead", "death", "die". It makes it all much more overwhelming, oppressive. He is fighting against the death and you can feel that.
And (oh such a detail) as he catches Rin on the fly after defeating the Guardian of the Underworld he IMMEDIATELY checks on her, WITHOUT waiting for his feet to touch the ground.

THE ANIME COULD NEVER
God him just dropping the blade when previously he had reminded Kohaku that "This arm is only meant to hold a sword".
(And Rin's hand as if almost touching his.)

THE ANIME COULD NEVER PART 2

(Heck this took me much more than expected, maybe I'll do a second part tomorrow, now I need to go to bed.)

I don't remember where I read this or who said it but my biggest thanks to you person who made me realize that Sesshomaru here is practically referring to himself as "Rin's home".
Whenever I think of it I feel just like this:

The fact that in the anime Sesshomaru going berserk because of Moryomaru's words of contempt for Kagura and the centrality of that moment for his growth are so shamefully undermined by the placement of this scene in the wrong point of the storyline simply is infuriating 😤🤬
Fuuuuuck now I'm reading about the Inuyasha chapter where Kagura dies and TWENTY YEARS LATER I am in tears again.

Can we talk about the TOTAL TRUST that Sesshomaru showed towards Kagura at this moment? 👇

Jaken had clearly told Sesshomaru that Kagura had kidnapped Rin but he never blamed her, never held it against her, never even feared that she could do it again. Don't underestimate this fact, for Sesshomaru Rin's safety came before anything else but, in Kagura's case, he put his trust in this woman, with whom he had only met a couple of times, instead of being alerted with a natural protective instinct towards Rin.
It's true that Sesshomaru knew that Kagura only followed Naraku's orders because she was forced to but, considering how much he cares about Rin, you would expect a reaction from Sesshomaru of at least concern but instead NOTHING OF NOTHING!
Look at this out-of-character reaction from Sesshomaru… 👇 👇

The SIGNIFICANT thing is that we are shown, by Rumiko Takahashi herself in this scene, that Rin is still afraid of Kagura and also here Jaken yells at Kagura to go away and that Sesshomaru is not interested in listening to what she has to say and what Sesshomaru does?!?!? He GETS CLOSER to her!!!!!! 👀👀👀 Maybe it's also because Rin saw that Sesshomaru trusts Kagura that we are shown that, after this episode, she was no longer afraid of her. This happened LONG BEFORE Kagura's death and these are details forgotten by many people. 🥰🥰🥰

Kagome who can't feel at home in her own damn home without Inuyasha is so

Just imagine what those three years separate should have felt like to her.
That "coming home shouldn't be so lonely" oh my God.
And I know that currently she really is alone at home, her family is off and everything, but it's not only that. That's just a narrative strategy to tell something more important.

He sounds just like a rejected lover
Okay, since I went on reading the manga and my mind got captured by two panels from chapter 512 reminding me of this conversation, I couldn't stop thinking about it, so...

I don't think these words from Kagome are dictated by her insicurities for, at this stage, she's overcome all that since the Mount Azusa arc, so she is reliable.

It's true that the Jewel doesn't grant your wishes, actually it uses you for its evil purposes, but whatever was the entity listening to Kikyo's soul it did listen.
Anyway it is important to understand that this doesn't make Kagome's experience and her feelings for Inuyasha filtered in any way through Kikyo's, they still are two different and separate individuals, both Kagome and Kikyo (and Inuyasha too, and Kaede) say it openly. Unfortunately some people need more, need to draw a clearer line between the two, denying any connection between them, so as to make Kagome more important, more powerful, more this, more that, God, as if she needed that to be such, she IS the most powerful miko after Midoriko, she IS Inuyasha's true love, but can't you see that all this is true even acknowledging her as Kikyo's reincarnation?
Such a pity that because of some shitty childish ships war (fueled by Sunrise itself, that's for sure, I won't forgive their crimes, but it's not only that) we still can't have a serious unbiased discussion about so many aspects of Inuyasha.
Then it wouldn't matter if the opinion you put in words is right or wrong, plausible or not, at least you would be allowed to speak yourself and truly understand the point the other person is trying to make, for you don't need to be afraid to be attacked or ridiculed, so that you are able to wholly focus on the subject discussed alone.
you ever think about how all kikyo wanted was a normal life as a regular girl? how she just wanted to wear rogue on her lips and fall in love with boys, and the one time she lets herself do that she's killed for it? and how even when her soul is reincarnated, she is still denied that quiet, normal life? you ever think about kikyo?
ONLY 24 CHAPTERS FROM THE END!!!

Please give me his coolness and aloofness to face giant arachnids
Reading the manga and came upon these scenes:

The first one is obviously Naraku holding Kagura's heart and threatening her with it; the 2nd and 3rd are when he created Juromaru and Kageromaru. I just thought it was interesting Naraku used 2 humans to create his other incarnation; could he have done the same for Kagura? Could she have been created from a human body?
Just a thought.
