honestly. kai winn. the whole bareil business of torturing that man and forcing him to stay alive to do politics is a bad ass villain thing to do and i love how evil it was like it was . dukat could never have even thougtht of that. if winn wanted to keep me alive with the torture devide and the sinister surgery iw ould THANK HER> i like bareil as mch as the rest of us but was he really missed? was it worth it for a splendid evil woman episode? yeah

also like.. it really is what he would of wanted fuck that episode fr tho its so good bc yes its an evil thing to do with evil motivations but literally it is what he wanted. like he denied going into stasis in order to save his life just to be able to complete the peace talks. he felt it was his lifes purpose. so much so that it was more important than his life plus we get some real classic ethical dillema trek and big wet bashir eyes oh god and that scene when he wakes up from brain surgery is so disturbing it qualifies as horror for me it’s so upsetting perfect episode tbh that scene where bashir tells kira hes not gonna do more brain surgery breaks me every fucking time rewatched it a few weeks ago and was so enraptured in it I didnt realize how hard I was crying till it was over and then I realized how fucking wet my face and shirt collar was

On the surface it’s based in humor and it looks playful but then we cut to Evan describing the loneliness of his world. and you realize that the lighthearted humor is meant to hide the fact that Evan once again feels like he doesn’t belong
