A short story in jaebum's POV

I was sitting in the restaurant, with this beautiful girl in front of me, she was drinking her favorite apple juice watching the street through the window... Despite our silent, our hearts were talking..

A while later, she smiled and looked at me

"It has been a while, Jaebum." She said staring at my crossing hands on the table.

"I felt like I haven't seen you since the beginning of time, huh?.. But every time I see you, it felt like I haven't been apart from you, ever."

I thought that I said something wrong because she lowered her head and frowned..

"Please Y/N, don't do that.. You know how much I love you and how much it's hurt not being with you." I said trying to reach her hands, but for some reason I couldn't touch her.

"If you loved me that much then why did you leave me?!" She murmured.

Every word in that sentence tore me apart. It isn't my fault like it isn't hers, and she knows that. She knows that I'll be forever with here; where she goes I'll be there, because my heart belonged to her.

"Can't you feel my love for you?! I know that you are mad at me.. But I came back for you.. It's hard to be back here.." I sighed and looked around. "You don't understand how much I hate this place.. Where I fell in love with the most beautiful woman whom I had to leave too soon." I reached for her hands again, and before I get to finally touch her, she stood up.

"I have to go." She said.

She was walking in front of me. And suddenly, she stopped. I stood by her side while she was looking at me. I tucked a lock of her chin-length hair behind her ear. She smiled. God, how much I love her smile, the same smile that made me fall in love with her. I felt alive for the first time in years.

"A day like this will never be repeated, I have to smile and enjoy it." She said.

"Of course. It our anniversary, darling."

"There's a place I want to go to. Come on." She happily murmured.

"I think I know just where is it. Come on." I excitedly cheered. She stared at me a little longer before she began walking beside me. It's hard to collect words and put them in the right sentences to describe how beautiful she is. How can she be this wonderful.

"Do you remember how we fell in love?!" I asked.

"I was a client in the coffee shop where you used to work. Isn't it the same where we've been just now?! Right, Y/N?!"

She only smiled.

"It's cliché how we fell in love." I said and she giggled so I continued. "After I saw you, I refused to leave, even after the coffee closed, not before you accepted to go out with me. Was it that hard to say yes?!"

"Oh god, I'm crazy." She said laughing at the memory.

"In our first date, you refused to open up to me because you weren't impressed by my plane dinner date. But when I took you to see the beautiful sky. You became carzy enough to like me."

She smiled and titled her head up.

"The sun is setting, let's get a taxi." She whispered rising her hand to srop a cab.

After an hour we reached our destination. It's was a large wheat field few miles away from town. We walked to the middle until she sat down, I stood by her side looking around.

"I don't think it's a good idea to be here alone at this time.. let's go back.."

She won't listen to me, I know her so well.

"You always talk so much, jaebum.. Every time we come here, on every our anniversary's day.. You won't stop talking. But today it's my turn to talk, jaebum."

I sat beside her listening to her.

"Today is my dad's memorial... You didn't know, sid you?" She asked murmured the last part.

"Oh... We've been together for 2 years, yet i didn't know it's today.. I.. I mean, I KNOW that your father passed away.. uh.. years ago, b-but-.."

"You've never asked" she cut me short whispering.

"You've never cared about my feelings. You've never asked me about my opinion in your decisions.. even though, they were all great but this one, jaebum."

Then, she was crying...

God I hate when she cries..

"It wasn't my decision, jagiya." I quietly said trying to soothe her. "It was our Destiny."

"I told you not to go..." she whined.

"I know.. I know... but-"

"You didn't listen to me-" "I didn't listen to you-".

I hope that I did.

She smiled.

"Like usual."

Her phone rang.

"Yes, mum."

"Where are you, sweetie."

"I came to see Jaebum."

"At this time..." her mother sighed through the phone. "Sweetie, where are at?"

"Mum, remember after my dad passed away, you told me he became a star lighting my way?... mum, even if it's dark, there are two stars shining at my way.." She said looking to the starry night. Her mother knew where she was but silently hoped that she was ok.

"Um, don't be late and come home... soon."

She hung up and looked around.. She stood up and walked out of the field. Alone. While I watched & light her way like I always do.

End of Jaebum's POV

She was sitting in the restaurant alone, and suddenly remembered Jaebum.

"It has been a while, Jaebum."

Then she lowered her head when she remembered how he confessed to her.

"If you loved me that much then why did you leave me?!" She murmured. She looked at the promise ring that he gave her. Then she walked out of the restaurant.. She walked alone through the busy streets, she stopped looking at her reflection on a storefront and she tucked a lock of her chin-length hair behind her ear. She smiled.

"A day like this will never be repeated, I have to smile and enjoy it. There's a place I want to go to. Come on." She happily murmured.

Then she continued walking remembering their first meeting.

"Oh god, I'm crazy." She said laughing at the memory.

Then she titled her head up.

"The sun is setting, let's get a taxi." She whispered rising her hand to srop a cab.
