redraw again, but I lost the original version
I run a couple D&D games, and in a recent one the party encountered a samurai crab (from Kobold Press’ Tome of Beasts 3). Quickly became a favorite NPC among my players, and is now the monk’s dedicated rival. One thing led to another, and I ended up making these stupid edits.
How a back muscle study turned into a redraw from the PSG soundtrack cover I'm not sure but here it is.

these are the sketches on au that came to my mind. Au, where Monsoon and Sam spent their childhood together.
it is known and confirmed by canon that Sam's family itself had its own dojo and was a family of swordsmen from Japan. And.. I came up with the idea that if one of their relatives had lived in Cambodia in the 60s and 70s, including during the reign of the Khmer Rouge (as well as the mini-monsoon). And I thought, why don't Sam's family, for example, come to Cambodia and try to take one of their relatives out of there. But something prevented them... in general, this idea is still quite raw, but as a result, a small Monsoon gets to them (for example, he was a teenager then and was able to distinguish himself with his fighter skills, and Sam's family is something like "haha, lol, a small and lonely ninja, let's take him with us :p")
so now I have some sketches with Sam and Monsoon of different ages. I assume that even in the canon they have an age difference of about 10 years (Monsoon was born somewhere in the first half of the 70s, respectively, at the time of mgrr he was 43-48. And Sam is very similar to a 33-35-year-old man)

God forgive me, acrylic kills, so the photo is of poor quality.
So, these are mini canvases with a magnet on the back, so now there are SamuRaiden hanging on my frige. I'm not a fan of acrylic, I draw on canvas at all once in a hundred years, so Sam turned out to be crooked ((

The game is called "Find the One the Author Likes The Most."
I wanted to draw all the Winds. And so, I sit drawing, and then with a window with tools I cover Sundowner's face so that he does not look at me. Because his face didn't come out very well and I just started laughing, but I couldn't do anything about it. It's the same with Sam. The faces of these two are a problem for me.
One day the day will come, and Sam's face I paint won't make me laugh wildly.
Fun fact
In the Japanese version of mgr, Sam taunts Raiden by calling him “色男(いろおとこ)” in their first fight, which specifically means a man who is sexy & with an attractive face. It’s even more sus than calling him pretty boy lmao

Armstrong had managed to secure a small piece of a beachfront for the crew after a particularly large achievement. Both Monsoon and Sam joke about being in some weird anime while Sundowner grabs and lobs Khamsin into the ocean. Mistral is in the water quicker than anyone expects, and stays in longer than everyone else. Armstrong is taking advantage of this time off to sunbathe and, as he would put it, “Throw around the ol’ pigskin”.
Monsoon doesn’t go into the water, at all. He’s like a cat in this sense and there is no way you can get him to go in, save for you being in danger. Buries you in sand to make you look like a mermaid, or octopus, or a Gekko.
Sam spends the day dragging you into the water with him every hour, chasing Mistral out of the water for scaring you, and sparring with Sundowner. He’ll also be using this opportunity to show off for you, with Monsoon and Khamsin in the back fucking with him.
Mistral leads you into the water with her, not at all being rough like she would with the others. Swimming with her is like another kind of dance, she turns into a whole different creature in the water as she guides you through waves currents.
Sundowner is reliving childhood by building sandcastles! He'll also be playing football-tag with Armstrong and Khamsin, but at least you can participate in sandcastle building without being smushed. His are clumsy-looking, but sturdy enough to survive being next to the waves, much like himself you point out.
Armstrong's relaxing, more than likely, with a new paper or book. Sit next to him, he snuck in drinks for just you two to share! You might be able to convince him to go swimming with you, though it's not his favorite and he won't stay in the water long.
Khamsin likes throwing you into the water, as well as wrecking Sundowner's castles and being a general nuisance. Invites you to play football-tag with him, but only goes easy on you for the first couple of rounds.
The night ends when Khamsin ends up getting stung by a jellyfish, it was funny at first but after a while he kept complaining about the pain, so Armstrong called for a tiltrotor to come 'round to pick everyone up, ruining your plans for a group bonfire :(
