Ok I know it won’t last long right now with all the angst probs festering (IGNORING RIGHT NOW) but it’s just so nice to see 4 kids from different circumstances who all grew up somewhat lonely be able to create such a kind and loving little found family. He Tian with his broken family, Mo Guan Shan with his Dad and Bullying, Jian Yi with literally everything happening rn I’m so sorry baby boy, and Zhan Zheng Xi who honestly just doesn’t look like he really socializes heavily outside of Jian Yi.

And the best part is none of it came for free, it wasn’t just being accepted into each other’s lives and done. They like genuinely worked hard to change and learn about each other in their little personal relationships. You can’t tell me that Jian yi or He Tian wouldn’t literally die for them without a second thought and the others know that. This is a found family based off of understanding, kindness, and a little bit of elbow grease. Throwing 4 boys who at the beginning of the comic are literally so far from each other and closed off about all their little thoughts and feelings; to one that wants to show his broken familial past and mom, one that wants to do better and move on from his past and opens up about how hard it’s been, one that opens up about his struggling home life and mom, and one who goes from literally hitting Jian yi for touching or implying he is gay to being kind and open and loving??

they have been growing up so much and still have more left to go. But the fish are such a wonderful reminder that this little family has already taken route. Even if it might be rough later on, I think we all know this little family will eventually meet together again. Fulfilling the honest wants and needs of these 4 little lads.

Wait Ik this is like the third time my dumbass posted today but I legit just realized that because Mo identified with the fish when it was dying. Both of them recovered, are now thriving and because he sees himself in the fish he is buying the rest of the gang as a symbolic act of accepting the rest of them into his life. And did so specifically with He Tian by his side also showing that it was him specifically choosing Mo that allowed him to be able to be able to befriend Xi and Yi too.

I’m pretty sure this was like east to read but I’m mentally slow and realizing this just gave the English teacher in the body of a 20 year old life in me.

OH GOD OH HELLLL YEAH the way little Mo is not only accepting He Tian’s advances but actively showing affection back???

ok but being real it’s to nice know that deep down amo Guanshan has always been a sweetheart using a tough outershell to protect himself from both bullying and Snake eyes. And now that he has gotten all that delt with and wants to move on he actively is opening up again and allowing himself slowly to go back to being the kind and sweet person he actually is.

I work with middle schoolers admittedly a lot younger than our 4 here but it’s always a reminder that a lot of kids acting out are doing so because of some reasons going on at home/in their lives. And it just takes that one person, in this case He Tian to accept them as they are and help them move forward.

ending on a less serious note I def saw xixi buying/holding that coffee for Jian Yi how cute.
