I headcanon hard that out of the two brothers, Jiang Cheng learned the braiding skills from Yanli, and grudgingly did his nephews hair all the time (pretending to be annoyed af).
When the night hunt goes wrong and he swaps bodies with xichen, the elder Lan learns of this and convinces A-cheng to braid their hair!
