Into Eternity - Part I

IntoEternity - Part I

Today was the day you had been dreading for months. It was your wedding day. The day your parents had been waiting for many years to come. Finally, you had a use. You’d been an ill child, constantly being sick and unable to help out on the farm. The only reason you’d been saved was because of your beauty. The King and Queen knew you’d look perfect on the arm of their son, Jimin.

The Prince was beautiful, of this there was no doubt. He had an elegance that many sought after. Your parents had fallen to the King and Queen’s feet, telling them that they’d make sure to raise you so you were worthy of someone like the crowned prince.

No expense was spared today. Gold fibers had been woven into your hair. Your bodice was laced tightly and you found it difficult to breathe. However, there was no sympathy from your ladies in waiting.

“Can you suck in a little more dear? The Prince should be able to fit his arms around you… Hopefully,” she breathed, looking around at the other women in the room like they were all sharing a similar thought. It left a sour taste in your mouth at how easily insults came off their tongues here, but you tried your best to breathe in more.

“You’ve got a decent face, but the Princess of Ivarsted was much more regal if you ask me,” another woman that was preparing your skirts commented.

The insults wore on as the day progressed. Your face was done up and you were put into your shoes for the night. You winced in discomfort at the jewels that scraped against your fragile skin, but you remained silent. Any complaining would be fruitless to you at this point, if anything it would damage you. It wasn’t worth it; no one would be listening anyways.

You really had no idea what to expect for your husband. All you had heard your entire life was that he was going to take care of you and that you had to serve him to the best of your ability. You had to watch your weight and watch your figure to make sure you didn’t displease him some day. The Crowned Prince was known to be beautiful. He was very quiet and kept to himself, rarely ever coming out of the palace. However, you’d never met him. Not even in passing. You lived far out of town and you weren’t allowed near the palace at a young age in fear of you being seen by the Prince or the other members of the royal family and them suddenly deciding you weren’t going to be enough for his highness. So, the first time that you’d be meeting your husband would be as you walked down the aisle.

Your hair was pulled up high into a painful, yet supposedly elegant updo. At one point your scalp began to bleed because the woman doing your hair was stating it was too long for what the Queen had requested. Something you could’ve easily fixed had you been paying any attention. Your fault entirely, of course.

Finally, you were done. ‘As good as it was going to get,’ according to one lady. You sighed and looked at yourself in the mirror. You looked pretty, although it wasn’t what you usually looked like. You looked almost like a ghost because you were so white. Your lips were painted a ridiculous red color, almost like a doll being dressed up for parade. You found yourself wanting to be sick merely from looking at your reflection. You wondered what Jimin was going to think when he saw you. You thanked the women who had been torturing you all morning; gathering your skirts before heading towards the door. However, before you could escape through the door, a man standing in a Royal guards attire approached.

“Sir Namjoon! You don’t need to take her, certainly she can go on her own,” one woman gushed as she fell to the floor in a dramatic manner. You sighed and looked at the man before you with mild interest.

“Nonsense, she is the Prince’s bride! I will escort her to Yoongi-hyung,” he said, approaching you.  You gazed at him with a blank expression. Honestly, on the inside, you were numb. Namjoon gave you a small smile, which you couldn’t return. He offered you his arm and you took it gingerly, wrapping yours around his as you were instructed.

“You look lovely, Jimin will be floored with how amazing you look,” he said as the two of you wove through the grey walls of the castle.

“Thank you,” you said in a tight tone. Namjoon noticed your unease.

“Jimin is a good person, you’ll be in safe hands for eternity,” he said, seeing if you’d bite.

“That’s good to know, thank you,” you said as the pair of you rounded a corner. You stood at the top of a very large and elaborate staircase. The marble was so clean it almost felt wrong to set foot on it. However, Namjoon urged you forwards.

Each step felt like a step towards death. No more playing down by the creek. No more reading in the middle of the fields while the sun soaked your skin and the wind caught your hair. All of that was ending. All because of your family practically giving you to the royal family, simply because they wanted to survive another day. Your mother had always wanted more than a simple life on the farm, and you would be giving it to her. She would forever be known as the woman who birthed a Queen. What a title.

“This is where I leave you, Yoongi will take you the rest of the way,” he said, passing you off to a somber looking man who appeared to be thinking of a million other places he could be.

“Pleasure to meet you your future highness,” he said, offering his arm to you. Slowly, you reached out to him and wrapped his arms around his. Yoongi wasn’t as tall as Namjoon and certainly not as talkative. He practically dragged you through the hallways before stopping in front of a large set of intimidating French doors.

“Now entering,” a booming voice began as the doors opened. “Miss Y/F/N Y/L/N! Future ruler of Arcane Kingdom!” The room before you was decorated in the flowers that were also in your bouquet. White lilies. You hadn’t chosen them, but apparently all things pertaining to you were handled by the Queen. Candles were burning all over the room, adding an ominous glow to the massive space. You looked ahead and saw Jimin. He was dressed in lavish fabrics that poured over him in a ornate manner. However, he was more beautiful than all the fabrics that he wore. You felt your breath shorten slightly at the sight. You hadn’t expected him to look so… ethereal. Yoongi pulled on your arm as the music began, making sure your walking matched that of the music.

You risked a glance at Jimin as you approached. He gave you a soft smile that you found easy to return, because it felt genuine. You kept your pace even as you slowly made your way towards the alter. However, your eyes were trained on Jimin. He had such an air of elegance about him that you felt like you paled in comparison. He had the feel of a Prince and a future King. You? You felt out of place, drowning in your gown with the amount of heavy jewels and makeup suffocating you. The dress and corset made your ribs hurt and your head swim. Yoongi pinched your hand to bring you back to reality.

Finally, Jimin bowed before you, taking your hand and bringing you up to the alter. Jin the castle’s Priest stood before the two of you with a warm smile on his face.

“Dearly beloved guests. We thank you for your toils and hardships to be here to witness the joining of this man, and this woman, in holy matrimony.”

Blood pounded in your ears and made it difficult to hear. You knew Jin was speaking, but whatever he was saying was lost on you. Slowly, you glanced at Jimin out of the corner of your eye. He stood there proudly with such regality and poise that you felt your heart race in anxiety. You could feel the weight of his hand in yours like an anchor, weighing you down until you could no longer breathe.

“We will now exchange vows!” Jin announced, loud enough for you to hear through your loud thoughts. “Prince Jimin, you first.”

“My dear Y/N,” he started. “We’ve grown in separate worlds, but no longer. I wish for us now to grow together and happily in this place we will call home. Let me protect you, cherish you and be the one you trust with your life. I will do all I can to be a husband that will make you happy,” he said making the room fawn. It became silent and people looked at you with an expectant gaze. You cleared your throat awkwardly and tried to remember what the women had been yelling to you all morning.

“My prince,” you said, your voice cracking slightly at the end of your statement. He eyed you curiously, squeezing your hand gently. “I promise to serve you, give you all I can and more,” you held your stomach and tried to breathe in as deeply as you could. Jimin gave you a worried glance.

“Are you alright?” he whispered, pulling you closer. The crowd gasped and awed at the scene, but you nodded and tried to go on.

“I will stand by your side and give you everything I am… I am your wife from this day forward, and I will be your future,” you said, only able to remember half of what the women had prattled off earlier. The room was silent before a few gentle claps resounded through the large space.

“Please, take these rings,” he said, letting the jewelers of the local village bring the rings forward. A short man with a balding scalp approached you with Jimin’s wedding band, a white gold ring that had a deep red stone set into the band. It was beautiful, but yours was a different story. The piece was large and the band was decorated with diamonds while in the middle was a large red stone that was the same as Jimin’s.

“These rings are made out of the finest white gold and set with white and red diamonds, these diamonds are meant to symbolize eternal passion and strength. We hope they are to your liking,” a man said. You watched as Jimin reached out and had a small conversation with the person who had handed him your ring. The man smiled proudly and the two of you were made to face each other.

Jimin cleared his throat and took your hand in his. “With this ring, I bond myself to you. You will be mine, into eternity,” he said, placing the ring on your finger. The weight was grotesque and you simply stared at it on your finger. You looked at Jimin’s band in your small hand. Your ring looked out of place and like it was going to break your finger. Jimin tugged on your hand and brought you out of your stupor. Slowly you brought the ring up and slid it onto his finger.

“With this ring, I bond myself to you. You will be mine, into eternity,” you repeated. Jimin looked at it for a moment before lacing his fingers with yours.

“By the power vested in me by God and the King of Arcane Kingdom, I now pronounce you husband and wife… You may now kiss the bride,” Jin said, smiling at the two of you. Before you could even process what was happening, Jimin leaned down and sealed his lips against yours for a quick moment. You didn’t even get to respond before he was pulling away and leaving you stunned. The two of you stood before the crowd as the cheered and hollered for your union. The room was loud and all you could do was cry.

You will be mine, into eternity…

Into Eternity - Part III

Into Eternity - Part III

Guess who’s back with a new chapter that’s been written for like, six months and just never got around to typing it up? This girrrlllll.

Ha ha... Sorry about that.

Hopefully Owner will be continuing soon! Sorry for the long waits guys, but life is just so crazy right now. But I love what I do and don’t plan on stopping. So please enjoy!

DO NOT OWN THE PICTURE

~Don’t ask about updates thank you <3~

Jimin was floored. What were you doing here? And why?

Jimin looked towards the maid. “When did she arrive? And for what purpose,” Jimin asked, wondering why his wife would appear in front of all these lords and ladies. Who no doubt think you’re unfit to rule.

“She arrived minutes ago. She didn’t answer any questions brought to her, our ladies lead her to your room, Majesty,” the servant answered, keeping her head low out of respect.

“Trouble in paradise, hyung?” Jungkook teased. Taehyung promptly smacked him on the head while Jimin tried to think of why you were here.

“Jimin,” Taehyung whispered. “Go see her, find out what’s going on, we’ll talk later,” he said, grabbing Jungkook and leading him towards the map and charts at the back of the room.

“Take me to my wife,” Jimin declared. He gave one last look to his friends, who gave him a reassuring nod. A few other servants came to the door and began to lead him to his chambers. Jimin’s thoughts wandered to you. Why were you here and for what reason? He wanted you back at the palace to bond with the people, for the love of a Royal’s people is all they shall need. Or so his father stated. Something must have happened back home...

His parents wouldn’t have moved you so carelessly. Image was important right now, people were uproared at the impure bloodlines being introduced. However, you two had been promised to each other long ago... Fate had been cruel to both of you.

“Did anyone accompany her?”

“Father Kim Seokjin, Captain of the Royal Guard and Head of the Royal Archers Min Yoongi,” one answered. All of them were here?

Finally, he made it to his quarters. The servants opened the door and Jimin held his breath, waiting for a horrible sight to befall him...

---

You were sat in Jimin’s quarters, feeling nerves eating you up inside.

Would he be mad that you were here? Certainly once he knew the reason he would understand, Jimin wasn’t unreasonable.

“You’re looking rather pale, are you feeling okay?”

Jin’s question woke you from your daze.

“You know, you didn’t have to come with me. I’m sure I would’ve been alright,” you mumbled.

“There’s a reason the Queen sent us with you,” Namjoon stated.

“What’s the reason?”

Everyone was quiet. You rolled your eyes in irritation. That had been their response the whole way here, that the Queen demanded they go with you. That it was important you weren’t alone. Why didn’t anyone tell you anything? As future ruler, didn’t you have a right to know what was going on? The breeze rolled across the country side, pushing the grass down and revealing the Earth underneath. Watching nature in action soothed your frustration, putting you into a state of sadness instead. The grass moving in such a way reminded you of a childhood robbed and a life that was only given for one purpose.

To make an heir.

They had only selected you because of your beauty... You were just a factory for them to make another Royal... After that, what purpose did you serve? You weren’t expected to raise the heir, that could be passed on to the maids and nannies.

It was exactly as it was when you were a child. Shut up in a room where you were to wait until you had a purpose. Now, you were holed up in just a nicer looking castle, being told to sit and behave. The current Queen would never be treated with such disrespect. You were just a nice decoration for the Royal family to use at their discretion.

You felt a hand on yours that jolted you from your thoughts. You lifted your eyes to see Jin, looking at you with concern on his face. “Are you alright, dear? You’ve gotten rather pale,” he said.

A sigh escaped you as you turned your head back out to the grounds below. “I’m fine, thank you,” you offered as you adjusted your skirts, a nervous habit that you’d picked up.

“Y/N,” he said in a soothing tone before squeezing your hand gently. “Are you alright? Ever since we got into the carriage you’ve been distant... I don’t know why they brought us here but-”

The door opened and Jimin rushed in, distress evident in his features. Your party jumped at the intrusion, Namjoon even placing his hand on his sword in a warning position. Jimin disregarded everyone as he approached you, taking your hands and kneeling to the ground before you.

“Y/N, what’s going on? Why are you here, are you alright?” he asked, touching your cheek and scanning your body for any signs of injury. You placed your hands on his and pulled them away from your frame. Jimin tried to hide his hurt expression, but you caught the tick in his jaw.

“I’m alright, you seem to be more upset than I,” you commented.

“Then what are you doing here? I can’t figure out why you’d be here...” He trailed off, looking towards his guards in confusion.

“The Queen sent her here, your majesty,” Namjoon said, a dark expression passing over his face. Jimin looked to you then to Namjoon, standing.

“Did my mother send anything with you?” he asked, looking towards your traveling companions with interest.

“Only a verbal message, sire,” Yoongi said, approaching. “It was as follows: There was a sighting, roughly twenty miles from the palace walls. They’re becoming bolder, take Y/N to Jimin and keep her there until I’ve sent someone to collect them.”

Jimin swallowed thickly.

“Her majesty sent Y/N-”

“Lady Y/N, Namjoon, don’t be rude to your future Queen,” Jin reminded.

“Excuse me your highness, Lady Y/N was sent here by the Queen so she know you and her are both safe,” Namjoon explained.

“Safe,” Jimin started. “Safe from what?” He looked towards Jin with hopes of an answer, but Jin simply shook his head and looked out the window.

Jimin seemed to take his silence as an answer.

“Is she positive?” Jimin asked, looking at his friends for confirmation. Namjoon and Yoongi both nodded their heads, causing Jimin to rub his face in concern. “What did Hoseok say?”

Hoseok? Who was Hoseok?

“He was the one who made the suggestion to the Queen to have Lady Y/N moved here. He’ll want a word with you the moment he returns,” Namjoon stated.

“Who is Hoseok?” You asked, looking around for an answer, although everyone else seemed less interested in your questions.

“If Hoseok had her moved then it must be serious,” Jimin noted, the other men agreed.

“As wild as he can be, he is no fool,” Jin stated.

“Why are they becoming so unruly, thirty of my archers couldn’t hit them... And these are some of my best men,” Yoongi growled in displeasure.

“Why am I here?” you asked, directing the question towards Jin hoping for an answer. However, you were snubbed again. Frustration bubbled in your throat.

“Perhaps we need to instill the old ways again, that was the best way of dealing with an outbreak in the past,” Namjoon suggested. Jimin shook his head. The frustration quickly turned to rage that boiled in your chest like a pot left to simmer. They were acting as if you weren’t even there. Just a women, you couldn’t possibly understand. Too much for a lady.

“We need to inform Taehyung and his guards. We also need to have Hoseok return as soon as possible,” Jimin ordered. Yoongi made a note and the four-way conversation continued.

“May God be with us all, Jin said, looking at the table with grim feature.

“Excuse me?” you said, wanting to ask a few questions, just so you had a better handle on the situation at hand.

“Just a moment, Y/N,” Jin silenced you.

“But I’d really like to-”

“Please have patience,” Jin cut you off again.

“But-”

“My Lady, please,” Yoongi intervened.

“I would like-”

“Y/N let us think,” Jimin spoke up.

“NO!” You screamed, standing up so hard that your chair fell backwards with the force of your outburst.

The room went silent and all of the men looked at you in shock. Women weren’t supposed to speak out of turn against anyone, especially not men. Even more so, their husbands.

“Y/N, sit down, please,” Jin whispered, taking your hand.

“No,” you said again, ripping your hand from his. “I’m tired of sitting here like a doll with no opinion. I have a right to know what’s going on in this Kingdom. Who are these people you are talking about? Why has the Queen had me moved here? Who is Hoseok? What the hell is going on?!” You shouted. Your chest was heaving from anger...

Your rage had unfortunately gotten the better of you. You knew you shouldn’t have spoken out against them, but you were the future Queen, you have a duty.

“Y/N, I didn’t want to tell you because the stress wouldn’t be good for your health. I know how fragile you can be,” he attempted to sooth you. However, he did the exact opposite.

“Fragile? You think me to be fragile? If I am so fragile, easy to break, then why am I being trusted with this Kingdom? If I am so fragile, then I surely cannot bear young for you. What is my purpose to you if I am so fragile, you majesty,” you growled the last statement.

Jimin was shocked to say the least. No one had ever spoken to him like this. He wasn’t sure if he liked it either. You were his wife, were you allowed to speak to him that way? Dare you speak to him that way?

“Y/N, you don’t need to concern yourself with this,” he dismissed you. A scoff came from your mouth before you could stifle it.

“My Lady please, enough,” Jin warned.

“No one listens, no one ever has,” you whispered, a single tear dripping down your cheek. Jin quickly stood up and wiped your tear away, not before Jimin saw, however.

“My dear, this has all been a lot for you. Let’s go for a walk, clear your head and get some air?” Jin asked, approaching you.

“No,” you said softly. “I want to be alone, since that's all I’m ever going to be,” you breathed, accepting the truth for what it was.

“Y/N, be reasonable,” Jin tried, reaching for your hand.

“Don’t touch me,” you snarled. Jin shyed back as you walked towards Jimin and stood before him. “If you truly don’t think I need to know, then I can accept that. But imagine if I was pregnant, with your child,” you said, grabbing his hand and placing it on your stomach. “Would you tell me then? I implore you, think about it,” you said, before walking out of the room and down the stairs. Leaving the men bewildered.

---

Jimin couldn’t tear his eyes away from his hand while everyone discussed in the large banquet hall. The way you spoke out against him was absolutely disrespectful. However, your statement had adhered to his train of thought. He would’ve told you everything if you were pregnant. Because he would’ve been worried for the child inside of you. But what about you? You were still a person as well... His wife and the future Queen. The mother of his future child... Hopefully...

You were right, you needed to know.

“Your majesty, are you alright?” Namjoon asked, looking towards Jimin, worried.

“Sorry, I was lost in my thoughts. Please, proceed,” he said. But he knew he was wrong.... He owed you an apology.

---

The night air blew across your face calmly as you lead out over the railing of your balcony. The moon shone over the land, making you smile softly as the familiar sight brought peace to your tormented soul.

A large forest was to the west of the grassland before the palace, and you longed to go outside and run around in the moonlit forest of the night. A dream of yours from childhood you carried into adulthood. You could see it, the way the moon made the leaves on the trees turn silver and how time seemed to stop. There were no responsibilities, just you and nature. You and freedom...

“I like seeing you smile.”

Jimin’s voice carried, causing you to turn around. You were only in your night dress and a robe, hardly appropriate attire to be seeing him in.

“Thank you your majesty,” you said in a cold tone. Jimin winced at the name and came forward out onto the balcony with you.

“I need to apologize to you,” he started. “Although, you were also wrong for speaking out against your Prince and husband... I see that I have upset you greatly, and you gave me much to think about,” he began, leaning against the railing with you.

“I’m sorry for speaking out, I should have broached the subject with more tact... However, I let my anger get the better of me... Not very becoming of a future Queen,” you said, biting your lip. Unconsciously you began to fidget with the skirt of your night dress, causing it to pull up your leg slightly.

“I accept your apology, now I have much to apologize for,” he said, turning to you. You turned as well, facing him. “I haven’t been the most attentive husband, and I will regret that in the coming future. But I don’t wish to continue the way we have been... It feels as though we are walking on thin ice when near each other, I feel this is due to not knowing one another... At least, not as much as a husband and wife should,” he began.

As much as a husband and wife should...? Does he mean? He wants to become intimate with you? So soon?

“I agree,” you said, pulling on your skirt a bit more.

Jimin was slightly shocked. He thought you were going to put up another cold front in his face when trying to broach the subject of becoming closer. He really did want to know everything about you, it was the least he could do.

“Really? You wouldn’t be uncomfortable doing so?”

“No, quite the contrary. We should have discussed this sooner,” you stated. Jimin nodded and took your hands.

“I’m sorry I’ve been so cold towards you. It wasn’t my intention to push you away. I’ve never been good with, uh, women. I’d like to be friends with you, and if not friends, then allies. I want - no - I need you on my side, always,” he stated.

“You’ll have me on your side. It’s a sensitive topic to discuss. I didn’t want to push it, distance was expected,” you reassured.

“I’m so glad you aren’t upset with me... I’ve been fretting about it,” he mentioned. Of course he was worrying about it. Producing an heir was no small feat. There was a lot that went into it. Besides him into you.

“There’s no need to worry about it, we’ll do this together,” you affirmed, squeezing his hands in yours. Jimin smiled brightly. You were taken off guard for a moment. In the time you’d been with Jimin, you weren’t sure if you’d ever seen that look on his face. He eyes seemed to disappear into two little moons... Much like the moon you love so dearly. You came to the conclusion that you loved that look on Jimin’s face.

“I’m elated that you feel that way,” Jimin said, relief evident in his voice.

Although, now what did you do? Certainly you don’t make the first move... Do you?

“So, shall we... get to bed?” you asked, looking towards the room with anxiety. Jimin nodded and began heading back inside. You followed, a chill running down your spine for a moment.

Quickly, you turned and looked towards the forest. A flash of orange light disappeared into the darkness of the night. Jimin noticed you still on the balcony, coming back out to collect you. His hand on your lower back startling you.

“Oh!” You gasped, turning and bumping into his front. Jimin’s hand relaxed on your back, a calm grin coming over his face.

You lost time for a moment. The moon’s silvery beams cascaded over his shoulders, bathing him in starlight that took your breath away.

Jimin was equally affected. The cool air of the night had brought a blush to your cheeks and your eyes gleamed in the bright tones of the night. A churning sensation pulsed in his stomach, and confusion bit at his throat. He needed to get away to gather himself.

“You’ll catch a cold out here, come inside dear,” he insisted, pushing you back towards the bedroom. You snuck another glimpse over your shoulder, before relenting and going back inside the room.

Jimin latched the windows, preparing to close the curtains as well.

Your clothes were just in the way, should you take them off? Or should you wait and let Jimin disrobe you...? Did Jimin even want you naked for this?

This was your first time, you didn’t know the proper etiquette for the situation. It certainly couldn’t be Jimin’s first time. A hot-blooded man? A virgin? You didn’t want to make yourself laugh at this moment.

He was preparing to turn around. What if he was expecting you naked by that time?

Panic rushed through you. Quickly, you disrobed. Your dressing gown falling to the floor, your night dress soon following after.

“Well, I’m going to take my leave for the night- uh... Y/N...?”

You shut your eyes and tensed up, trying to keep your hands from covering yourself.

The room was deathly quiet. You could hear a pin drop, the curtains shift, the sound of your heart thrumming in your chest.

Why wasn’t he doing something? Shouldn’t he be taking the lead on this?

“W-Well?” You asked.

Jimin was floored. So many thoughts running through his head. Your breasts looked so soft and supple, skin smooth and shining in the candle light. Your lips were red from your teeth worrying them. You were nervous... It was obvious to him.

“What are you doing?” he asked, more confused than anything.

“What do you mean? Y-you’ve been talking about making an heir tonight, correct? That’s why you came in?”

Jimin shook his head frantically. “No! No no, my dear. Like I said, I came to apologize for my behavior earlier in the evening. However, you began to agree with me so I assumed we were thinking of similar situations. I’m sorry if I made you believe otherwise,” he stated.

“So, you don’t want to, uh, make an heir tonight?” you confirmed.

“Right now isn’t the best time to bring a child into the world It wouldn’t be safe, not yet...” Jimin said, a dark look casting over his face.

Embarrassment flooded you, causing you to drop to the floor in an attempt to gather your clothing back. Trying to save a shred of dignity.

You heard the floorboard creak and you winced at the sound. Had he decided against his statement? His urge for you growing too much.

Warmth enveloped you, causing you to open your eyes. Fabric cascaded down your body, covering your maidenhood with silk. You looked up and stared at jimin in confused. He sighed and sat on the edge of the bed, his face in his hands. He looked tired, very tired. You wrapped the robe around yourself in a hurried manner before moving to sit next to him.

It was silent for a few moments before you spoke. “Jimin,” you said, using his name. “I need answers,” you demanded.

“I suppose you do,” he concede, lifting his head from his hands. “Y/N, I’m going to tell you everything, but in return I want something from you,” he asked, turning to look you in the eyes.

“It depends on what I am promising?” Jimin gave a soft smile at your response.

“Promise you’ll be patient with me and support me where you can. I need you to be with me in this life. If you can do that, I’ll do whatever I can for you in return,” he pledged.

You sighed and took his hands, placing them in your lap. You were silent, simply holding his hands. “Jimin, I made those promises when I married you. Don’t fear, for I will always be by your side. In this life, and even the next if the stars permit. You aren’t a bad person, I feel as though fate brought us together for a reason... For what I don’t know, but I’m not one to question fate. But I beg of you, tell me the truth,” you said.

“They were people once,” he began. “However, darkness has made a place inside of their souls. The practice of black magic has been outlawed in the Kingdoms for years, however they still manage the heinous act. Slaughtering and stealing to appease their demonic suppliers. You see, black magic has a price... It must always be fed, never stopping or slowing down, for risk of punishment. There is always a price that must be paid at the end, no one escapes it either. These people, things rather, always hunger for more. It’s a ravenous appetite that never seems to be quenched. My great grandparents found a way to appease their voracious hunger at first, although eventually they craved more than what the Royals would give.”

“Namjoon said something about the old ways, is that what he was talking about?”

“He was speaking of the appeasement my great grandparents practiced. However if it stopped working over sixty years ago, I doubt it would keep them at bay now. My great Grandfather took his best men into battle and slaughtered them. Hardly any of them were left alive... And if they were, they were sent to the church to be dealt with. After that, it seemed as though our toils were over. Until this afternoon when you arrived here. They must know my father is ill. They are sick and vile beings, praying on the weak and elderly. They are far too cowardly to attack someone stronger than themselves.”

“Jimin,” you start. “You call them, they. Do they have a name?”

“We call them the forsaken. They have been abandoned by us, by God, by their own mothers in the forest beyond the Kingdom. Now, my mother sends word that there have been sightings of them near our palace. The walls surrounding my home, our home. They are supposed to keep us safe, and yet my mother sends you here... For protection. Something terrible is coming, my dear, they are coming. We aren’t ready for them, but, for right now... There is peace, and I am going to cling onto that peace until there is nothing left for my nails to dig into... I want so desperately to tell you that there is nothing on this planet that can harm you, but that is a fools promise. However, I can promise you this,” he said, grabbing your hand and placing it on his chest. “I will do everything in my power to keep you safe. You are my wife, and my future Queen. I want you to be happy with me. I don’t ever want you to do something because you feel an obligation to do so... What you said earlier about carrying our child made me think. I would have told you, but I realize you are more than just a means to produce a child... You are your own person and I want to take care of you... And I want to be happy with you,” he whispered the last part. You felt a small smile make it’s way to your lips.

“Jimin?” you tried, wanting him to look at you. Once his eyes met yours you leaned in and placed a gentle kiss to his cheek. He gave a soft grin and looked down to his knees. “I want us to be happy together as well. And I think that is highly possible. You are not a bad person, as I said before. Trust me, and work with me. Tell me the truth always. And believe in me, forever,” you said.

Jimin nodded. “That seems more than reasonable. But,” he said, raising to his feet. “It’s been a long day for you, and for me. So, I am going to retire for the evening,” he announced, heading towards the door.

You launched up so fast you couldn’t stop yourself from grabbing his wrist. Jimin looked down to your hand then to your face.

“You don’t have to go,” you said. “We’re married, it’s more than appropriate for us to share a bed,” you said with a blush on your cheeks.

“For confirmation sake, we are just sleeping, correct?”

You laughed lightly. “Yes, just sleeping,” you confirmed. You crawled into bed and pulled the covers back and buried yourself in their warmth. You heard Jimin removing his clothes, surely a peak would be alright?

Over the covers you peaked at your husband. He still had his pants on, but he was slowly unbuttoning his shirt. You watched as more of his skin was revealed to you. It felt wrong, but you couldn’t help but stare. It was the first time you’d seen a man in this state of undress.

Eventually, Jimin came to bed. Clad in a dressing gown and some underclothes he got into the other side of the bed.

The two of you laid there in silence for a few minutes, unable to fall asleep.

Finally, you couldn’t bear it any longer.

“Jimin,” you said quietly.

“Yes?” you hear him answer back.

“You can touch me, I won’t be offended or uncomfortable...”

“Um...”

“Of course you don’t have to either, I don’t want either of us to be uncomfortable in this situation. It is all rather new and I don’t want to push any sort of boundaries that we might-oh!”

Jimin had wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you into his front, encasing you in a blanket of warmth.

“Is this alright?” he asked, his breath sending goosebumps raging across your skin. You nodded, not trusting your voice at that moment. “Good night, Y/N... Thank you for trusting me,” he said.

“Thank you for telling the truth,” you said, voice wavering.

Comfortable silence fell over the two of you, and the night and promise of sleep lured you into the waiting darkness...

Pair: Park Jimin X Reader

Genre: angst, smut (not in this chapter srry), drama, action

Words: 6,236

Jimin and you hadn’t spoken in over a week.

Not by your wishes, you longed to talk to your husband about that night. The night filled with passion and affection you’d never known before. How you felt while his lips were against yours.

It wasn’t only that, you simply missed speaking with him in general. His presence once warm and inviting was now cold and shut off. It saddened you to think someone you were opening up to suddenly shut you out.

However every time you attempted to speak with him, a member of the inner circle of guards would stop you. Even though you were their future Queen.

They would ask you to follow them to the castle gardens, or to the training area to observe the sparring between guards. It was all mundane, and not fooling you either.

Today’s redirection came from Father Jin. The damned traitor...

He suggested coffee and cakes in the garden.

A needlepoint sat abandoned on the small table prepared for the two of you. Father Jin was immersed in his Holy words, and you were thinking of less than civil things.

Jimin’s hands running up your bare leg, caressing your skin with such care it made your heart ache. His petal soft lips that made you want to forever be connected with him.

But then there were the other things that simply made you smile. His laughter that sounded much like tinkling bells. You hadn’t heard it very often, but you knew it when it rebounded off the stone of the palace.

Then his tenderness with the people. How much they cared for and trusted him. He bonded with them so when he took the throne, everyone would be accepting of the change.

Everyone loved this man...

Including yourself.

Jin shut his Bible, making you jump in your seat. He chuckled before lifting his cup to his mouth. “You seemed deep in thought, what troubles you My Lady?”

“Nothing, Father-“

“You know it’s a sin to lie,” he remarked. His perfect eyebrow raised in judgement.

“Father I’m sure I don’t... oh, fine,” you huffed. Leaning back you let the wind blow on your face. Wanting nothing more than to rip the hair pins out of your locks. You settled for simply letting down your bun into a ponytail.

“What creates such heat within you?”

“He who is my husband,” you began. Jin cleared his throat.

“Well My Lady I am but a simple Priest I know not the inner workings. Hold, I know not the inner relations-“

“He spares me not a glance. I fear I’ve done something to upset him. When the Forsaken gave me that potion and he had to care for me, something happened,” you sighed.

“Well, My Lady I don’t know what I am to do about that,” Jin stated.

“Get him to look my way, Father! I am in horrible guilt thinking I’ve upset him!” You whimpered.

Please work...

Please work...

“Well, Lady Y/N, there is no reason to fret over this trivial matter-“

“You think my marriage trivial?”

Caught like a bug in a spider’s nest...

“No! Of course not Highness, it’s just I don’t want you to be upset over something easily remedied!”

“You mean you’ll help me with this problem, Father?”

“Well, um-“

“Oh thank you!” You gushed, crossing your hands over each other in a praying manner. Jin sighed in defeat and rubbed his forehead.

“I’ll tell him I have something crucial to discuss with him at dusk in the lower sitting room. I’m assuming you know the one?”

“To the color of the drapes,” you smiled.

“Go in my stead then. I have a feeling I’ll be ill tonight.”

“But Father, lying is a sin,” you smiled before standing up and heading towards the castle with glee.

Finally, you’d be able to tell him everything..

* * *

Later on you found yourself in one of the many rooms this palace had to offer. Seeing as how there were books, you were entertained.

A knock came to your door.

“Enter,” you allowed.

A timid woman peaked her head in the door.

“My Lady, Father Jin has requested your presence in the Lower sitting room,” she announced, head low.

“I will be there promptly, thank you,” you said. Closing you book, you finished off your drink and headed towards the door.

The walk was silent save for the sound of your heels clicking on the polished stone work underneath your feet.

You had so much to discuss with Jimin... So many questions unspoken that it seemed ridiculous. You wanted answers, nay you needed them...

“Ma’am,” your maid announced as she stood outside the entryway.

“Thank you,” you said, reaching for the handle.

Pushing the door open you felt yourself smile. He stood before the fireplace, glass of wine in his hand as he stared at the open flames. You turned to the maid. “Please, let no one disturb us,” you requested. She nodded quickly before shutting the door.

Jimin seemed entranced by the blaze before him, as your approach didn’t move him. He remained where he was, facing the heat of the fire.

“Good evening,” you said, walking up to him. You watched as his body tensed at the sound of your voice.

“What is it that requires you to play games for my attention?” Jimin sighed, almost as if he was disappointed.

“I wouldn’t have to play games if you would join me for breakfast once in a while,” you stated.

“Have I upset you?” He asked, setting his goblet down firmly.

“Funny I was to ask you the same.”

The crackling of the fire roared in your ears in comparison to the void his silence gave.

“Jimin, I want to speak of us,” you declared.

“What of us?” He said, eye focused back at the fire.

“After that night-“

“What I did that night was to save your sanity. We needn’t discuss it further,” Jimin cut you off short.

“But Jimin I felt-”

“I’ll be short with you because I have many duties to attend to. If you want my attendance at breakfast then simply ask for the maids to wake me at that time. You have plenty to do around this castle, I can’t understand why you must bother me. If you want me to dote on you and give you every moment of my attention then I am afraid to inform you that I am unable to provide you with such. Or, is it the consummation you came for? Would you like me to bed you, as a man would?”

He was drunk.

He approached rapidly and moved to capture your mouth. But it felt wrong. His kiss was painful, not passionate. His grip tight not a caress. You pushed at his chest and ripped away from him, eyes gleaming with tears.

“What’s the matter with you?! What did I do, honestly?! Have I committed some heinous crime so now you don’t wish to speak with me? Whatever I did I apologize! I’m so sorry, Jimin... but I can’t do this without you... don’t leave me alone again,” you cried. Your knees went weak and you crumpled to the floor.

The man before you stared at your emotional state and rubbed his face. His eyes were red... had he been crying? “Leave me.” He whispered.

“But, Jimin,” you pleaded.

“I SAID LEAVE!” He bellowed. You scrambled to your feet and hurried to exit the room. Your trembling legs carried you to the corridor before entering the barracks.

You began to sob, body wracked with the realization you were alone. All of the love you’d received was a lie. Nothing for you to keep and to cherish. No, it was a bone waved in front of a starving dog. Only to be snatched away and hidden from sight once more.

Your chest ached as you hiccuped and cried. You ripped at your corset, digging into your flesh to rid yourself of the suffocating fabric.

“My Lady! My Lady, stop!” A familiar voice rang through the hallway.

Taehyung kneeled before you and took your head in his hands. You tried to pry away his touch but it was no use.

Taehyung thought he heard something up here, but he didn’t expect it to be you. He thought some animal was injured and was wailing for help. Not his future Queen. He examined your throat and chest with care before patting your head gently.

“What’s the matter? Are you hurt?” He questioned.

“I’m so alone,” you whimpered.

His heart shattered at your broken tone. Did Jimin do this to you? Had one of the nobles in the palace upset you? Taehyung filled with fury, before letting it fizzle. You needed to be taken care of first.

“Come here,” he said, adjusting your position so he could pick you up.

“I’m sorry,” you whispered. Your voice was scratchy from crying and weak from screaming.

Taehyung adjusted you in his grip before taking you towards your room. Finding one of his nurses he requested a soothing snack be made for you immediately.

When you were settled in your bed, a pair of older nurses coddling you, Taehyung took his leave.

The Prince was in for a wake up call.

* * *

It has been rough in the palace for you. You are frightened you’ll stumble across Jimin around a corner and face his wrath again.

You were terrified of the man you saw that night. He was nothing like the one who took you to bed and pleasured you. Filling your heart with such sweet butterflies.

It was rainy, the weather changing from the warmth of summer to the chill of autumn.

You were in your room, gazing down at the fields once more. The once flowering grass now say a brilliant shade of gold in the sun.

Much like your husbands hair...

Longing for his touch and his mouth you found you hand wandering towards your womanhood. Biting your lip you made your way to your bed.

You fell into the comfortable sheets imagining the scenario. You dreamed of him coming to you in the night, hushing you with a small giggle.

*“No one should know I’m here my love,” he'd laugh. Bringing you into his arms he’d kiss your face with adoration.

*“Enough of that, kiss me properly,” you’d demand. Jimin would comply and mold his mouth to yours with eager intentions.

*”I’ve missed you my darling,” he’d moan against your mouth. Taking your skirts and pulling them up over the soft flesh of your thighs. Placing your cool palm over your heated center you flushed.

“Ah, Jimin,” you sighed into the air.

You fingers worked deftly against yourself, careening into the sheets like a cat in heat. The sensations you made were nothing compared to those Jimin pulled from you, but it was enough to leave you sweating and panting on your bed.

“Jimin... Jimin, please,” You whined into the bedding. You thought of him, mouth against your core looking like an angel but doing nothing but sinful activities.

His fingers moving inside of you with such grace it made your core throb. Gently you pushed your own finger inside yourself, feeling your tightness as just one finger.

So close, so close...

Your toes clenched as you cried out in release. Your wrist ached with strain, but you let the momentary bliss flood you. It was enough to distract you.

For now...

Jimin heard you crying as you began your self pleasure. He’d come fearing something had happened to you, when he found your door partially open he bit his lip and peered in.

There you lay on your bed. Corset pulled down to release your chest, breasts jolting with your frantic movements. Jimin's mouth felt dry as he drank in the sight of you.

He remembers how you felt like velvet against his lips, and the taste of you bitter sweet on his tongue. He could feel the stirrings of arousal building in his stomach.

“Jimin... Jimin, please,” you cried for your husband. Him. His touch, no one else’s. His heart ached with the want to take you then and there. But he knew he mustn’t.

You had a purpose, to be loved only to be lost... Jimin could feel the displeasure sweeping up his body into his mind. However, his lower groin felt differently.

Jimin’s throat constricted at the sight of you, pushing your finger inside of yourself so slowly. He remembers your tightness wrapped around his fingers. Gods above, it was like heaven.

Jimin could feel his hardness in his pants growing unpleasant. He had to meet with one of his consorts, and soon.

With one final glance as you cried out your orgasm, Jimin hurried away from the door. He had to get you out of his mind.

/

“Ah~ your highness!” Hyunjae whimpered. Jimin pounded furiously into the younger male as his breath hit his neck.

“Silence.” Jimin demanded, pushing his head into the mattress. Hyunjae squeaked before obeying, letting the older male use him as he pleased.

Jimin could feel his partner clenching around him, but it wasn’t the same... you felt *better. And it infuriated him.

Picking up his pace he felt Hyunjae tap his hand for air. Jimin obliged and listened, releasing his impressive hold on the younger man.

“Oh! You feel so good in me sire, please can I touch myself, please!” He begged.

“I care not,” Jimin allowed. He was too focused trying to chase his high. Every time he was close Hyunjae would open his damn mouth.

“Ah-Ah! I’m going to cum, Highness please don’t stop,” he pleaded.

Jimin was practically spearing the poor man in half, yet there was no real pleasure. It felt good, but he knew you would feel better. He was so frustrated. He just wanted to forget, not worry about you... The pleasures of sin always wrapped around him and consumed his very being. However, now... Now he was merely reminded that you would take him better.

Your lips would feel more plush, pussy wetter.

“Cumming!” Hyunjae cried and shook as he released all over the sheets. Jimin tried desperately to follow, but to no avail... he simply went flaccid after a few minutes.

Jimin pulled out and watched as his consort collapsed on the bed. He sighed and pushed back his sweaty hair.

Even sex wouldn’t be enough.

“Sire, you didn’t finish?” Hyunjae asked.

“No, don’t trouble yourself over it. I’m simply thinking too much.”

“Who is it?” Hyunjae asked. Jimin’s eyebrows flew up.

“What do you mean?” Hyunjae smiled knowingly.

“Close your eyes,” he said softly. Jimin hesitated, but he wanted the sweetness of release so badly.

Closing his eyes Jimin felt Hyunjae come closer. “I won’t speak, but whomever has taken your mind, picture them now.”

Jimin hissed as Hyunjae licked his cock slowly. Your bright eyes came to mind immediately. Your beautiful, soft lips.

He could see you, on your knees before him with such hesitance, but he’d be patient with you. Staring into your eyes he’d smile and reassure you. It would all be fine, he’d love what you did no matter what. Because it would be you doing it.

Warmth enveloped his cock as he pictured the scene more. You’d taken his dick in your mouth and began swallowing to please him. Delicate wrists moving leisurely to pull more and more pleasure to the surface.

God your mouth was so hot. Jimin whimpered as Hyunjae smirked and cupped his balls knowingly.

“Ah! Y/N! Don’t tease me, please,” he cried. Hyunjae raised an eyebrow.

His wife is whom he was wanting to bed?

Hyunjae simply shook his head and continued. His Prince was close, he could tell.

Jimin’s abs clenched as he felt his release approaching quickly. “Ah! Y/N, gonna cum,” he gasped. He screwed his eyes tightly and felt all the tension snap.

His cum came pouring into Hyunjae’s throat as he tried to swallow it all. It surprised the young man how much his Prince produced.

His wife was truly lucky.

Once Jimin’s breathing leveled out, he cracked his eyes open. Hyunjae was across the room already pulling his shirt over his head. Jimin bit his lip and went to speak, but Hyunjae just smiled.

“I won’t say anything Highness. Sleep well tonight,” he waved before leaving. Jimin felt exhausted, but he knew there was much to do.

Your date was getting closer.

* * *

“My Lord I really don’t like this idea,” you sighed as Taehyung animatedly explained the plan to everyone.

He managed to rope all of the others into this scheme, even Father Jin.

“What is wrong with it? Please, elaborate!”

“Why do I have to stand on the roof??” You squealed. The thought of being up that high made your stomach drop.

“Because, if you’re on the roof of the palace Jimin will have to speak to you. Pulling you from the ledge he’ll reveal everything! And Jungkook will be waiting down below with Namjoon with the blanket in case you fall,” Taehyung shrugged.

“She’ll tear right through it, idiot,” Yoongi declared.

“Well, maybe just the fourth level then?”

“Maybe we don’t execute this plan,” you suggested.

“Listen, Jimin told us to keep you away from him for a reason. But he didn’t tell any of us either. We don’t agree with how he’s treating you, so we’re going to aid you,” Taehyung explained.

You sighed. You really did want to know why Jimin wasn’t speaking with you. Why he was drunk that night. If he truly cared for you.

“I relent, please tell me again,” you acquiesced.

Taehyung grinned before starting once more. “We have a walk scheduled with you and the guard at half past mid-day. Jimin has a meeting with a leader of a smaller town to the South about trading approximately the same time. So, once you are in view of the council room, you’ll take this,” He hands you a similar dart to the one that caused your spell about two weeks ago. “And place it as if you’ve been pricked once more. Father Jin will take the dart and start examining it. Then, you will get all flustered and collapse. I will see this from the council room and make a scene to worry our Prince. Father Jin will demand that the guards get him medical supplies immediately. Once they leave, he will give you this.”

Taehyung produced a dark purple via that made your heart pound. Jin took it carefully.

“What is it?” You questioned.

“A heavy sedative, it slows the heart and the breathing to simulate death. Soldiers use it to avoid being killed. It is safe, I promise you,” Taehyung vowed. You bit your lip, but nodded regardless.

“Next, we get you into the medical bay where Father Jin will be the only one allowed to give you aid. The rest of us will be present as well. My Lady, this is where we need you to act! Once in the medical bay, Father Jin will give you enough of the antidote to stir you awake. It will be difficult, but say you’re cold. Say you’re sorry for upsetting him. Jimin isn’t a bad person, we just have to crack his mask and make him speak,” Taehyung said.

“This seems better than standing on the roof,” you scoffed.

“That’s plan B.”

* * *

Today was Jimin’s meeting with the Council Member from the village. You were preparing for your walk with Father Jin. Dressing yourself in a deep green dress and letting your hair down you smiled. You enjoyed letting your hair down.

A knock sounded from the door.

“Enter,” you said. Father Jin came through the door and gave you a smile.

“Ready?”

You clutched the dart tightly in your hand.

“Absolutely.”

* * *

Taehyung watched as Jimin worked, waiting for you and Jin to come into sight.

Namjoon and Jungkook were also with Taehyung in Jimin’s meeting. He thought it would make sense to have Yoongi standing outside in the training area with his archers running drill. This way there was a first response once the guards scattered.

You walked silently with your arm with Jin’s. He kept you steady as your felt your heart racing.

The day was pleasantly chill, letting you wear your dense dress without discomfort. The deep green of the fabric reminded you of the forests near your house as a child. You smiled at the memory.

Jin tapped your wrist three times. Signaling, you were good to go

Taehyung fazed down from the window and saw you and father Jin walking with the guard.

“So what issues are you worried about?” Jimin addressed formally.

Taehyung smiled. His friend was about to get a surprise.

* * *

You waited until you could see Jimin’s face in the window before wincing and placing the dart on your neck. “Ouch,” you stopped. The guards in front of you stopped as well and turned to you.

“My Lady what’s wrong?” Jin asked, calm. You pulled the dart away from your neck and stared at the object in your hand.

“No Father, not again,” you breathed. Jin quickly took the dart and began examining it closely. You started to fan yourself and eventually you gripped onto Jin’s arm.

“My Lady, are you alright?” Jin asked. You shook your head. Jin turned to the guardsmen. “Quick, find me medical supplies, and hurry,” he demanded.

The guards scrambled and headed towards the castle. Yoongi watched and headed your direction as well.

“What’s the matter?” He asked, coming closer.

“Our Lady simply doesn’t-Oh!”

You fully committed and tipped backwards, falling into the grass. Jin and Yoongi rushed over.

“Quick, you have to drink,” Jin said. You swallowed quickly and winced at the bitter flavor. But soon your tongue was going numb and head swimming.

* * *

Taehyung watched with rapt attention. You were hanging onto Father Jin rather tightly. Taehyung beckoned Jungkook over to the window.

“When she collapses, rush out of the room. Namjoon will follow.”

“Taehyung, what’s the matter?” Jimin asked from his seat at the table.

“Your wife, sire. She appears to be feeling ill,” Taehyung noted, sounding confused.

“What do you mean? Pardon me for a moment,” he addressed the Council Member. Coming to Taehyung’s side they saw Yoongi approach and then you completely fall backwards. Your hair splaying across the ground like art. Taehyung had to hold his tongue to save face, you really did go for it.

Jungkook bolted from the room, Namjoon following shortly after him. Jimin was pale, watching as everyone scrambled below.

“Y/N!” Jimin yelped. He halfway turned to the Council Member. “I’m sorry, but I must see if she’s alright,” he stated before moving quickly out the door. Taehyung followed him with haste. “Shit,” Jimin cussed. “I hope those two left to search the perimeter.”

“I’m certain they’re acting on their instincts.”

Jimin rounded the corner and burst through the doors to the training grounds. Yoongi’s archers stood with solemn expressions.

“Y/N!” Jimin yelled. You heard his voice, but couldn’t move. You even felt your heart beat slowing.

“Father, what can we do?” Yoongi said, attempting to sound distressed.

“I-I don’t know, I haven’t seen this type of poison before,” Jin whispered.

“My Lady!” Taehyung's voice was close. Footsteps began to get louder and louder as Jimin and Taehyung closed in.

Jimin’s heart was pounding. How could this happen? Again? You didn’t deserve your fate. He wished you were different, that he could save you from these damn cruelties.

You felt warm palms on your face. Jimin...

Taehyung watched as Jimin fell down beside you, taking your face in his hands.

Your were pale, the normal rose of your lips gone. Your skin was clammy and cool. You were dying.

“Oh God, Y/N,” Jimin whimpered. He wasn’t ready yet. He didn’t know you well enough. There was still time... wasn’t there?

“Your highness we need to move her to the infirmary,” Father Jin urged. You heard more footsteps. The guards were coming back with the medical supplies. A pram lay in their possession.

Namjoon and Jungkook came now, you heard their shouts.

“Is she well?”

“The grounds are clear!”

“Y/N please wake up!” Jimin's voice cracked. His chest hurt and he was too overwhelmed.

“Namjoon, Jungkook, help me lift her onto the pram,” Father Jin requested. Jimin’s hands disappeared and you felt other hands on your body.

“On my count,” Namjoon said. “One, two, three!” You felt yourself be lifted into the air and placed back down gently.

“Quickly, we don’t have time to waste.”

Soon you felt the ground lift away as you were rushed to the palace. You heard Jimin’s sniffles next to you. He was following.

/

Jimin was pacing outside of the door. Taehyung watched as he furiously chewed on his lip. A bad habit he picked up from you. It was because he was always looking at your lips.

“Highness, Father Jin will ensure she’s alright. He just needs to do a full body examination first,” Taehyung soothed.

“I’m her husband, I should be allowed in there,” he complained. Taehyung concealed his grin.

“Patience my Prince, she is is good hands.”

Jimin couldn’t calm down. If you died before he... before he could apologize. Before he could tell you he wanted to make your marriage work, even with the limited time you had. How could he live with himself?

How could he live with himself knowing what was still to come?

The door cracked open and Father Jin’s saddened face appeared. Jimin flew to the door. “How is she? Is she alright?” He asked. Father Jin placed his hand on Jimin’s shoulder.

“I doubt she will make it through the night Highness,” he declared.

He simply couldn’t believe it. He knew the day would come where he’d have to be the reason for your demise... but here? Now? When he hadn’t gotten to tell you how beautiful you were in the morning light. How sweet your smile was... Jimin’s knees gave out as he fell to the floor.

He let this happen to you. It should have been him to do it. At least he would’ve made it painless. So fast you wouldn’t know what happened. He wanted to show you kindness and love so that when you did die, it wouldn’t be alone.

Yet he’d been so cold to you. He’d forced himself on you while inebriated and scared you. He was despicable.

“Jimin,” Taehyung whispered. “You should go see her.”

Jimin nodded as he stood. Father Jin invited Taehyung in as Yoongi, Namjoon and Jungkook all rounded the corner.

Before they could speak Jimin rushed past Father Jin and was at your side. Guilt boiled in his heart as he looked at your weak frame. God above, you must be in so much pain. Your hair plastered to your forehead in sweat.

“Darling? It’s me, Y/N? Can you hear me?” He whispered. Everyone else filed in slowly, shutting the door.

Your could hear him, and Jin has given you a small amount of antidote. So you could move your fingers a little. Jimin kissed your hand and looked at you, waiting.

“Y/N, please wake up,” he begged.

Even Taehyung felt bad at this point. The Prince was devastated.

You managed the Herculean task of opening your eyes to peer at him. His eyes were red and sparkling with fresh tears. Jimin’s skin was slightly pale and his fingers were shaky in your own.

“Jimin?” You croaked out slowly.

“Y/N! I’m here,” he cooed, patting your damp hairline with his sleeve.

“I’m sorry,” you whispered.

“No, no I’m the one who is sorry. I-I’ve been a deplorable husband and I hope you can forgive me. I want to be better... for you I want to be better,” he ached.

“Why didn’t you talk to me after? You just left after we-“

Jimin shushed you, placing a kiss on your head. “I was too embarrassed to stay. You were a vision and I, well I was quite nervous,” he teased. You chuckled but the dryness in your throat caught, making you cough.

Father Jin approached with some water for you.

“See if this helps my dear,” he said. Jimin took the cup and helped you drink slowly.

“Jimin,” you started.

“Yes?”

“Do you care for me?” You asked, feeling your eyes drooping.

“Absolutely. There isn’t a doubt in my mind I do,” he stated firm.

“Then why don’t you get close to me? We’re married, you have to live with me... for the rest of our lives...” you heaved.

Jimin felt his heart clench. As you lay dying, you should know... you deserved to know.

“I’ll tell you the story... a very long time ago, one of my ancestors fell for a woman who practiced magic. She was a witch, but he cared not. He loved her anyways. Then, an ancestor of yours came along and found love with the Prince. She cared deeply for him, and he returned her love. So they were married. The witch was furious when she discovered her lover was taken from her... so she slaughtered villages and continued until she made it to our Kingdom.

My ancestor pleaded with the witch to spare his people. She agreed under one circumstance. That he kill his bride. He told her it was to high a price, but your ancestor said to do it. If he loved her, that was all she needed. So, my ancestor told his bride he loved her before killing her. The witch was appeased until a few decades later a descendant of that very woman appeared. See your ancestor had several sisters. So, to appease the bloodthirsty witch, every other decade a Prince would take her descendant as his bride... and before their fifth month of marriage, he kills her. This is how we keep the witch at bay.. she controls the forsaken. The reason they’ve been attacking us, and you is because they’re telling me I need to... I need to uphold my end of the bargain,” Jimin sighed.

The room was silent.

“That’s archaic! You can’t possibly think to kill her!” Taehyung barked.

“Then what shall I do, Taehyung? Let her butcher my people? Kill all of those who seek my protection? For one person?”

“Not just a person, your wife!” Taehyung accused.

“Tae,” Namjoon warned.

“There has to be another way,” Jungkook whispered.

“Surely, Majesty I implore upon your judgement,” Father Jin pleaded.

“Please heed my words: if there was another way, I would find it,” Jimin breathed.

“Then why don’t we?” Yoongi suggests.

“Has anyone ever tried to kill this witch?” Tae asked.

“They never get close enough to try,” Jimin sighed. Jungkook spoke next.

“We don’t have a choice, I won’t let you kill her,” Jungkook declared. “I made an oath to the royal family. Not just you, Hyung. If she dies, then I will have failed my oath. That is punishable by death,” Jungkook stated.

Namjoon approached also. “If Lady Y/N dies, then I will have failed as Head of the Royal Guard. That failure is also punishable by death,” he declared.

Father Jin nudged Yoongi. “Didn’t you take that oath?” He reminded.

Yoongi sighed and shrugged. “I guess you should kill me too, as Head of the Royal Archers,” he said.

Taehyung raised an eyebrow at Jimin. “I’m sure Hoseok wouldn’t be pleased if your bride dies before he could meet her.”

Jimin smiled brightly at all his friends. They could do it, surely. Jimin almost didn’t notice how your hand fell from his, hitting the bed with a soft thud. He turned quickly, looking at you panic stricken. “Y/N? Are you alright?” He asked, reaching for your hand. It was chilled to the touch, and his heart sank.

“Father, perhaps there’s something you can do for her?” Taehyung presses, elbowing Father Jin in the ribs.

“Oof, ouch,” he whined. Taehyung widened his eyes to express his meaning. Father Jin caught on. “Oh, yes... I have no idea if this will work. But it’s worth a shot.”

Jin came forward with the antidote. Jimin’s eyes were fresh with tears as Jin presses the vial to your mouth.

Carefully he poured the liquid in, massaging your throat until you swallowed. The effects were slow, externally it appeared it wasn’t working.

“No, no, no Y/N! My darling, please,” Jimin cried. You wanted to comfort him, but the antidote was slow.

“Come, lets leave them,” Father Jin suggested. Taehyung nodded and collected the other men. The door shut and told you, you were alone.

Jimin’s cries made your heart ache. Why did Taehyung think this was a good idea? You felt your toes curl and then you could feel your foot. Slowly, but surely the thick veil of death peeled back.

Soft kisses were placed on your hand as Jimin began to apologize.

“I’m so sorry, Y/N... I have been a terrible person to you. You reveal intimate parts of your body and heart to me, and I ran away because I was too frightened to accept the change in myself. I had only ever lied with men before you,” he confessed.

Confusion struck through your body.

Jimin? Laying with a man?

The thought didn’t repulse you, merely fascinated you. Even though he lied with men, he was here with you. Did that mean he cared for you?

“But when we began to talk, to know one another. You were a breath of fresh air. You were so different from anything I was used to. You were so quiet and soft, but endearing and such an intelligent woman. I’m sorry I didn’t appreciate you, not like you deserved... I-I dreamed of a child... that night I kissed you I was drunk. But when I fell asleep I saw a child, beautiful and healthy. Our child,” Jimin whispered.

You began to feel the tops of your thighs and your pelvic region. You felt soft pressure on your stomach.

“I wish I could’ve made a child with you. You’d be so beautiful, bearing our babe in your womb. They’d be so perfect. I’ve been such a fool, forgive me,” he whimpered against your stomach. You could feel his arms tightening around your hips, his face buried into your dress.

The tips of your fingers twitched and you wanted to reach out for his head. Just to tell him.

*I’m here... I care for you. I’m right beside you, always.

Your fingers finally moved enough to where you could inch them across the bed. Jimin still remained on your stomach, crying as he mourned you.

Your hand finally made contact with his soft hair. You could feel this silly strands beneath your fingertips.

Abruptly, Jimin snatched your wrist. You felt him trembling. Slow and measured breaths began to move into your lungs.

“Y/N?” He whispered.

Softly, you opened your eyes. It’s was blurry, but Jimin’s outline was there. Right at your side.

“J-Ji-min,” You rasped, coughing on his name.

“Oh God, Y/N,” he sobbed.

Scooping your face into his hands he kissed you gently. You were too tired to kiss back properly, but you smiled lethargic.

“Jimin,” you whispered, taking his face in your palms carefully.

“I thought I lost you, I-I don't know how my ancestors could cope... I never want to feel like that again,” he breathed.

“I’m sorry... to frighten you...” you said, unable to really speak as Jimin kissed your face.

“I’ve never been so scared. When I saw you collapse, I-My heart froze over like the winter frosts.”

“I’m cold,” you muttered, the antidote leaving your body ravaged and sore.

“I’ll bring you to bed my darling,” he said, moving to stand. You nodded and waited for Jimin’s arms to envelope you.

“I want to sleep with you,” You whined. Jimin coughed.

“You’ve been through a great deal today, we’ll have plenty of time for, uh, consummation another day,” Jimin stated.

You shook your head as Jimin brought you into his embrace. “Just want... close...”

He bit his lip, looking down at your frame in his hold. How would he be able to deny you anything you wanted when you looked like this? “I yield to you my darling. But we are only sleeping,” he clarified. You nodded, resting your head in his neck.

“That’s all... I want,” you murmured. Wrapping your arms around his neck Jimin adjusted his grip before heading out of the door.

The boys all stood at the other end of the hallways peering at the infirmary door when it opened. Jungkook watched as Jimin’s smile remained endearing at your sleeping form.

“He’s so taken with her,” Father Jin sighed blissfully.

“Never thought someone could break down his walls like that. She’s something else entirely,” Namjoon smiled.

“Humorous that I can say our prince is pussy whipped,” Taehyung thought.

A sharp smack resounded throughout the Hall.

“Ouch! The fuck?” Taehyung yelped. Jungkook rubbed his forehead.

“Don’t speak of your future rulers in such a vulgar tone!” Jin reprimanded.

“I wasn’t-”

“Taehyung, what trouble have you caused now?”

The group stopped their bickering and looked forward in astonishment and horror.

Hoseok, Royal Messenger and assassin stood before them, looking as if he was about the parish in the hallway.

“Hoseok!” Namjoon yelled, rushing over to his brother. Father Jin ushered them all towards the infirmary.

Once Hoseok was situated in the bed and Father Jin and Jungkook has set to work on his wounds, Namjoon asked the question heavy in the air.

“What happened to put you in this state?”

“The witch,” Hoseok coughed. “She’s getting angry, the bride of the Prince... she has to perish soon, or the village to the south will be in ruins.”

“Y-Y/N?”

As Jimin lay in bed with you, arms wrapped protectively around your waist, he could help himself from staring out the window. His eyes caught the slightest movement at the edge of the forest...

A bright orange light that faded as he slipped into sleep.

The light of a torch...
