Troy is so fucking fascinating because if you really think about it he’s one of those annoying characters who’s like “well it’s what my character would do so I’m gonna inconvenience everyone”. Like those players everyone memes on for misunderstanding an evil alignment. The ones who get banned from tables for having too much annoying main character syndrome.

But somehow he plays it so well it isn’t irritating it’s just really fucking funny

so are we not going to talk about Bizly saying “i cant wait for you to find out his real name” about troy as much as I thought? because that was terrifying

word vomiting my first impressions and thoughts about wonderlust ep 1!!

CHARACTER FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

- troy is reminds me of draco malfoy in the "i have daddy issues and wanna impress my dad who doesn't give me enough love and attention and so it manifests in being a dick to everyone around me also because my dad's the mayor and i'm super privileged" kind of way. i'm so interested to see where his character goes from here because at the moment he's def the annoying kind of character (and charlie plays the annoying UP man he just says shit omygosh)

- RUNT PROTECC RUNT i need to wrap runt up in bubble wrap and keep her safe from the horrors of the world. she is precious and innocent and so freaking smart (artificer??? hello???) and i can't WAIT to see that displayed in full. grizzly's accent for runt was not what i was expecting at all but it adds to the sassy young teenager who takes no shit and i love it

- blink is just condi. like straight up. the character design looks like condi and condi voices him like himself. i can't wait to dig deeper into this character cos i feel like his past history is gonna be so interesting (current headcanon based off the conversation with orion is that he was previously a criminal or some sort of morally grey character? or faced some sort of tragedy but if the former happened i'd be so excited)

OTHER THOUGHTS:

- i really liked blink and troy's dynamic so much. condi and charlie really bounced off each other like so well this ep, they were just going back and forth with their characters so seamlessly. i feel like i would get whiplash just listening to them converse

- bizly DM!!!!! dude the worldbuilding is crazy and so cool, like the way he describes the clockwork soldiers and the cities just sucks me right into the world

hearing from charlie's stream that troy is gonna get worse is hype because potential villain arc?? i remember at the end of apotheosis the boys said there was so much potential for either thanatos or rumi to betray the party but didn't, so the possibility that we might be getting a proper villain arc (whether he's villain villain or troy villain) is pretty exciting

The Wonderlust pcs are all getting hit with the chronic pain projection beam

Troy dealing with migraines and post concussion syndrome from his concussion

Runt dealing with leg pain and needing the leg braces to help her walk

Blink dealing with fatigue and weak joints and joint issues making it so he can’t fly for long

charlie showing up to wonderlust filming on one hour of sleep and with the first hangover he's ever had is beautiful. i 100% believe it when he said he locked in as troy.

he says it's one of his favorite recordings. can't believe charlie is method acting for wonderlust

if troy looked at gillion tidestrider too hard I feel troy's skeleton would shatter into a million pieces. if troy tried to punch gillion (even as a joke) his wrist would turn to dust. gillion wouldn't even feel it either he would just be like wow when did that happen! and heal him

not really a spoiler, but 6 minutes in and troy already gave me an aneurysm just from the nonsense spewing from his mouth

troy going "one of them you lay down, one of them you play dead" when approaching a bear hybrid somehow parallels the riptide pirates trying to stop a sea otter bear thing from eating ollie in the feywild. was not expecting this crossover

also how does troy know this stuff about bears? surely he's never encountered one before, i was under the assumption that animals weren't super common in the over city (i forgot what it might be called)

i miss riptide but have some wonderlust

- runt built her own braces using scrap the street rats through out

- 10 year old runt standing on a bench on her tippy toes trying to use a smithing table making her first mechanics tool set

- troy (i want to punt this man out a window) has been sponsored by laxatives, didn’t question the patch just slapped it on

- it’s called loose engine

- blink has a scar running through his lower wing from an escape from the vixens

- uncle three strings used to strum his guitar to help runt sleep when her cough got really bad

- runt got teased for her lisp once by another younger street rat, he got a broken nose and a bruised kidney but he will never tell why
