June of Doom Day 18
"How long have you been like this?"
| Sleep Deprivation | Fall | Blanket |
Cw: Needle, the tags above, whumper-caretaker
...
Whumper didn't announce their entrance. They just let the creaking of the door scare Whumpee.
They stepped in and observed their captive, huddled against the wall, staring. Their eyes were bloodshot, their hands shaking as they watched Whumper.
"How long have you been like this?" Whumper asked, stepping over to where Whumpee huddled.
Whumpee didn't answer.
Whumper crouched before them. "Have you even slept?"
Whumpee only gave the slightest shake of their head in response.
"Tsk, can't be having that Whumpee. You need to sleep. I need you nice and rested for when I torture you."
Whumpee didn't move, didn't make a sound.
Whumper sighed, rose, turned, and left the room. Whumpee watched them go.
They returned not moments later hefting a blanket. They crouched by Whumpee again and pulled them off the wall, slotting the blanket in behind them and wrapping it around them.
"You're going to sleep now, Whumpee."
They pulled a syringe from their pocket and Whumpee's eyes widened, they suddenly began to struggle, tried to stand, but they were too weak, and they just fell straight into Whumper.
Whumper lowered them back down to the floor, using the blanket to hold their arms in.
"Don't worry Whumpee, I won't do anything to you until you wake up. It's no fun unless you scream," they whispered as they pressed the needle into Whumpee's neck and pressed in the sedative.
Whumpee tried to fight it, but they were already so tired, and soon they fell into a dreamless sleep, and Whumper rested them against the wall.

"I'm not going anywhere"
| Wound Cleaning | Guilt | Chair |
Cw: The tags above, planning murder, implied betrayal and abuse.
I'm gonna do a continuation of Day 13 cause yall liked that as much as I did. No need to read that one though.
...
Sidekick was slumped in the chair in Villain's lair, conscious but weak, as Henchman stitched them up.
"I should never have trusted them," they cursed out Hero, Henchman listening with clenched fists as they rinsed out the cloth and used it to wipe away the blood staining Sidekick's torso.
"I'll kill them. I'll kill them for this."
"Hey, it's not your fault," Sidekick assured them. Henchman dropped the cloth into the bowl of water woth a splash.
"It is. I never should have left you with them."
"It doesn't matter, you can't change it. Just don't leave me now."
"I'm not going anywhere."
"Good," Sidekick smiled weakly and Henchman picked up the cloth again, wiping away the blood and grime that coated Sidekick's arm.
"They're right, Henchman," Villain interjected, standing at the doorway to the room, leaning against the frame. Henchman hadn't heard them enter. "It's my fault. I never should have let Hero go this far. They're my enemy."
"What are you going to do?"
"That's up to Sidekick, actually."
Sidekick raised their head in surprise.
"I'm going to go after Hero, and I'm going to beat them to a bloody pulp. Do you want me to drag them back here for you to take a turn? Or can I kill them where they stand?"
Sidekick thought for a moment, before looking up at Villain with a sneer.
"Kill them, I don't ever want to see their face again."
Villain smiled. "Good."

"That's gonna be one hell of a scar"
| Cage | Pliers | Scrape |
Cw: The prompts above, rescue, implied abuse/ torture, self-sacrifice.
I'm actually really proud of myself for keeping at this so long. I fully expected to fail before day 15. I'm thinking I might start posting snippets from my whumpy novel once I get through this shitshow of a month. Anyway, enjoy some more hero/villain whump!
...
Villain sat in the cage, bleeding all over, but refusing to cower. They didn't huddle or hide in the corners of the cage, they sat, dead centre, and glared at the door, waiting for Supervillain to return.
But when the the click of the lock echoed through the room and the scrape of the dopr opening grated their ears, it wasn't Supervillain coming through the door. It was Sidekick. The very last person they'd ever expect to be here.
"Sidekick?"
Sidekick raised a finger to their lips. "Shush". Villain understood the message and chose to watch out the door as Sidekick pulled a pair of large pliers from their jacket and began to cut the wires on the cage. One by one. Snip snip snip. It took way longer than was comfortable for Villain, and they grew more paranoid with every snip of a wire that Supervillain would arrive.
But they never did, and soon, there was a hole large enough for Villain to crawl out.
As soon as they were out though, they couldn't stand straight. The cuts crisscrossing their legs made it impossible to rest their weight on their legs.
Sidekick hissed when they saw the wounds.
"That's gonna be one hell of a scar," they muttered. The first thing they'd said since they arrived. They didn't say another word as they looped Villain's arm over their shoulder and carried most of their weight as the pair limped out the door.
They approached the front door but Villain began to panic. Where was Supervillain? They must have heard them. Why hadn't they showed up?
"They're distracted right now," Sidekick whispered, reading their thoughts. Villain wanted to question it, but at that moment they heard the loud crash as someone fell through a window somewhere out of sight.
They heard the tell-tale voices of Supervillain and Hero arguing and suddenly they understood. Hero was distracting Supervillain, hence why Sidekick was here.
Sidekick didn't seem fazed in the slightest and continued carrying Villain out the car outside, loading them into the back seat.
"Hero-" Villain started, but Sidekick cut them off.
"They'll be fine. My orders are to get you out of here."
"But-"
They didn't get to finish their complaint as the car jerked forward, shooting out into the road, just as Supervillain came crashing out onto the road behind them, bruised and battered, followed by a furious Hero.

Cw: Implied torture, the tags above
...
Villain cursed as they tried to lift Hero from the ground. They were weak and limp, their legs too wobbly to stand on their own.
"Who-" Hero swallowed, their mouth so dry it was hard to talk. They hadn't had any water for almost two days. "Who are you?"
Villain looked away. Hero hadn't recognised them when they arrived. They were counting on it staying that way for a while. "A friend," they said, finally, and managed to hoist Hero's arm over their shoulder and lift them, half dragging Hero away from the cell.
Villain could still feel the bruises on their neck from the collar that had choked them every time they swallowed, but they didn't say anything to Hero. They didn't need Hero to worry. They needed Hero focused on getting out.
"Come on," Villain muttered and Hero tried their best to get their feet under them.
The pair limped out the door and into the weak sunlight, and Villain immediatley turned towards the woods. It wouldn't be long now before Superhero returned.
They had just reached the treeline when the rumble of the car could be heard coming around the corner, and Villain gripped Hero tighter and turned to run.

Whumper kicked Whumpee's legs out from under them, again.
They fell to the ground with a thud, their crutches rolling away from them.
"Pathetic," Whumper muttered, and Whumpee sobbed.
"I'm trying!"
"No," Whumper grabbed them by their shirt, hoisting them up, "you're not. Again."
Whumpee reached down and picked up the crutches, trying again to cross the room.
Their legs were destroyed, their bones set wrong afte Whumper had punished them. So now they had to learn to walk again.
They managed three steps before Whumper ran out of patience and kicked them down again.
"Is this all you can do?" Whumper kicked them again, knocking the wind from them. "Only a few meager steps after all I've done for you."
Whumpee let out another shuddering sob. "I'm sorry."
"You will be."

"How many fingers am I holding up?"
| Poison | Rash | Double Cross |
Cw: The tags above.
...
Villain had flown in and scooped Hero up so fast that Sidekick didn't have a chance to stop them.
They'd been perched on a roof nearby as they watched Sidekick stab Hero in the back, literally.
That wasn't on Villain's to do list. They had plans. Big plans. And none of those plans involved Hero getting killed by Sidekick.
So here they were, carrying a half-unconscious Hero through the skies as they flew to their base.
They landed and strode in, not even offering a word of explanation to their henchman as they dumped Hero unceremoniously on the kitchen table and began gathering supplies.
Hero didn't move from where they were put, too injured to even try.
Villain was halfway through stitching up the wound when they noticed the rash.
The skin around the slit was red and swollen, but that was normal for a stab wound, but it was beginning to spread. The slightly patterned rash had spread up to Hero's shoulder, and that definitley wasn't normal.
"Henchman!" Villain called, and their loyal servant came. Villain tossed them the knife. "That poison?"
Henchman inspected the blade, sniffed it, then nodded, and Villain cursed.
"Get me an antidote, now."
Henchman only nodded and scurried off as Hero began to stir.
Villain shook them.
"How many fingers am I holding up?" they asked, waving two fingers in front of Hero.
Hero's brows scrunched together. "F-four?" They managed and Villain cursed again, grabbing the bag of supplies in preparation for a long night.

Civilian had no idea what they were doing as they packed bandages into Supervillain's wound.
They had stayed home, in bed, all day because of their cold. They were drugged up on cough medicine and enough pain killers to down a horse, which was the only reason Civilian could justify what they were doing, kneeling on their kitchen floor, as Supervillain bled out in front of them.
They had stumbled in at the door, bleeding all over the carpet as Civilian was trying to make themself some soup, and Civilian had, for some reason, decided to help.
So there they were, on the floor, packing the wound with as much finesse as a twelve year old as Supervillain broke out into a cold sweat.
Civilian cursed, shaking Supervillain to try and wake them, but they only succeeded in causing a few bubbles of blood to foam out of the wound.
"I think I'm going to be sick," Civilian muttered, reapplying pressure to the wound.
"You're going to be fine," a voice said from behind them, and Civilian whipped around to be face to face with Villain. "But I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to come with us, Boss with want to talk with you when they wake up."
Civillian panicked, their breathing turning erratic before they promptly fainted, ending up on the floor beside Supervillain, equally unconscious, as Villain and Henchman bent down to retrieve them.

"Don't move"

...
Sidekick knelt, gripping the chains that shackled their hands to the floor as the water rose beneath them. They were desperatley pulling on them, trying to get higher.
"Don't move!" Villain called to them, standing on the edge of the precipice, a good ten meters from where Sidekick was chained, and slowly sinking.
"Oh really?" Sidekick said sarcastically. "I was planning on going and getting some tacos while I wait for you to unchain me."
"Don't be sarcastic, I'm panicking."
"You're panicking? You're not the one about to die!"
"I'm trying to help you, now shut up and let me think."
The water was rising quicker now. The earthquake had burst the water mains and left a furrow in the ground, leaving Sidekick the perfect captive the drown. Hero had run as soon as the tremors had started. "The civilians needed them" apparently.
Villain had arrived not long after, not about to let their captive die.
They'd brought them here to lure Hero, they weren't going to let the poor kid die.
They eventually gave up on trying to figure something out and just began backing up, trying to guage how far back they needed to be to get the running jump.
The water was reaching Sidekick's neck now, they were pulling the chains and holding themselves up. When they ran out of strength they'd be submerged.
Villain cursed and began to run, sprinting before leaping, only just landing on the platform as the water rose above Sidekick's chin.
They quickly dove beneath the water, key in hand, and began working to undo the shackles.
The first came undone quickly, but the second go stuck. With the little extra leeway, Sidekick was a little further away from drowning than they had been, but not much, and Villain didn't have the strength to keep ducking under.
But just as the water covered Sidekick's nose, the key turned and the shackle released, and the two enemies kicked off the ground the the surface.
Gasping for air, Villain let Sidkick grab their shirt and begin swimming towards the doorway.
They only just made it, diving through the door as the last of the floor dropped away and joined the rushing water below.
Villain lay on the ground panting for a moment before getting to their knees just in time to see Sidekick land a punch across Hero's jaw.

"I made a mistake."

"No!" Whumper was almost yelling. "It won't be okay. Whumpee is gone and now I'll never get them back. And now I stuck with this fake."
They gestured at Civilian, tied up on the ground, their arms numb from being pulled so tight behind them, one eye swollen shut and the other pressed into the ground.
Other Whumper placed a hand on Whumper's restless shoulder. "It'll be okay. We'll find Whumpee and bring him back here and everything will be back to normal. My people are already out searching. Right now we have to deal with them." They nodded at the limp form on the ground.
"What do we do?" Whumper asked.
"We can deal with them ourselves, or dump them at a hospital."
Whumper thought for only a moment. "Dump them at a hospital. I don't want anymore hassle. I'm waiting for Whumpee."
Other Whumper gave a brief nod, then grabbed the zip tie holding Civilian's legs together and began to drag them away.
"Oh, and Whumper?"
Whumper looked up at them. "What?"
"Next time you fuck up this bad, it won't be Whumpee that ends up dragged into my cells."
Whumper didn't respond, and Other Whumper didn't so much as acknowledge them again as they dragged the struggling person along the rough concrete towards the door.

...
Hero struggled against the cultists as they were dragged forward towards the altar, but their hands were bound tight, and there was nothing they could do to stop from being forced to their knees before the decorated podium.
They watched as the cultists arranged themselves, in circle, their robes dragging on the ground dramatically. They would have scoffed at the theatrics if they hadn't glanced up.
Above them, hanging from the ceiling by various chains, were seven people. And one of them was villain.
Villain appeared the only one that was awake. They gave a little half-hearted wave to Hero, seemingly nonchalant, but Hero could see the wince of pain from here.
A tear slipped from Hero's eye. They had arrested Henchman when they came claiming Villain had been taken. They had convinced everyone it was trap. Convinced no one to go after them.
But here was Villain, very much kidnapped, hanging from a cult's ceiling.
"I'm so sorry," Hero muttered, and Villain frowned, then gestured towards the altar.
Or what had been an altar.
When Hero turned their attention back to the centre of the circle, the draped table was gone, replaced by a kneeling woman.
One of the cultists kicked Hero forward and they stumbled, falling to their knees before her.
"We have brought them to you, our goddess," the cultist said, bowing.
The woman nodded and shooed them away.
She turned to Hero.
"My child, I have been looking for you for so long. I took this from you so you would come but you never did," she gestured at Villain. "I'm sorry if my people were harsh, but all will be well now that you are here."
"Wait, what?" Hero cocked their head. They had never seen this woman before in their life. "Do I know you?"
"No my child, not yet. But I know you. And now, you will be mine."
"Wait, no-"
They didn't get to finish their sentence as the woman gripped their shirt and pulled them towards her, until her face was mere inches from theirs.
"And now that I have you, I will never let you go."

...
Hero kept Henchman pinned to the ground with a foot on their throat.
"I surrender! Just let them go," Villain cried, their weapons on the ground, their hands raised in surrender.
Hero pressed down harder. "Sidekick, cuff them, I'm not letting Henchman up until I know this isn't a trap."
Villain was thrown against the hood of a car and they didn't struggle as their arms were wrenched back and shackled together.
Only when they were immobilized, kneeling before Hero, did they release Henchman, who staggered away.
"Boss," they said, reaching forward.
"No," Villain snapped. "Go. Don't come after me."
Henchman looked conflicted but ultimately nodded, limping away holding their brusied throat.
Hero smiled down at their new hostage before swinging their foot down onto Villain's head so hard they blacked out.
When they woke, they were chained to the ceiling, hanging by their wrists, their toes only barely able to touch the ground. There was a collar around their neck, chained to the ground, so they couldn't lift their head.
They didn't move, didn't make a sound, until they saw the knife in Hero's hand.
They rattled their chains. "What are you doing?"
Hero cocked their head. "Interrogating you," they said, as though it were obvious.
The blade slashed across their chest first, and Villain screamed. Their arm next, then their stomach.
Hero chuckled. "Dont worry, you'll get used to it. The pain. You're going to be in a lot of it from now on."
Villain could only sob as the knife came down again, cutting across their skin.
