Olliver's story is about how great human stupidity is sometimes. How cruel out of fear people are when faced with something unlike themselves.
Cruelty won't make anyone a saint.
Olliver is depicted here without eyebrows or mouth because he can no longer experience anything - neither grief nor rage. Everything that made him alive has been killed in him. His eyes stare into nothing, the spark is gone in them too.
In his arms is his murdered son. He was not his own by blood, but he was his own soul and heart. Human who killed Yassi... didn't even blink an eye.
We had a village day in Jyskyjärvi today, it was so amazing there….!!!
Men and women in Karelian costumes, various fairs, exhibitions, I even bought myself a really nice red belt!!!
I learnt a lot about the Pomor Karelians, and I left so happy!!!! What a day today!!!
I'm really glad that events like this are being organised, it's times like this that you remember who you are and are proud of your people. Your small but beautiful folk.
