BTS’s “Dynamite” Scores Historic 2nd Week At No. 1 On Billboard’s Hot 100
BTS has achieved another amazing feat as their single “Dynamite” spends a second week as the biggest song in the United States!
Last week, BTS became the first all-South Korean act to top Billboard’s Hot 100 when their new English-language single “Dynamite” grabbed No. 1. The chart ranks the most popular songs in the United States across all genres based on streaming, radio airplay, and sales data. The group shared their amazement, gratitude, and happiness over the incredible achievement.
On September 8, Billboard announced that “Dynamite” continues to top the Hot 100 this week! This extends their record by making them the only all-South Korean act to top the chart for two weeks.
According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, “Dynamite” earned 17.5 million U.S. streams and 182,000 downloads sold in the week ending September 3. The song also garnered 16 million radio airplay audience impressions during the week ending September 6, which is up 38 percent from 11.6 million the week before.
Billboard has shared that “Dynamite” is one of only 43 songs to have ever debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100, and now it’s the 20th of those tracks to remain on top of the chart for a second week.
“Dynamite” is also still at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart, and it rises from No. 20 to No. 18 on the Pop Songs radio airplay chart—a new career best for BTS. It’s at No. 9 on the Streaming Songs chart, down from No. 3 last week. “Dynamite” also becomes BTS’s first track to land a spot on the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart, taking No. 29.
Billboard’s website will update its charts for this week (dated September 12) on September 9.
