A/N: I swear, y’all. Your hearts gonna friggin melt. He can be so cute, I swear.
Summary: It’s a nice summer day, so Y/N, Jongin, and their son, Jun-ha decide to go to the beach. After a lack of protection, Jongin and Jun-ha end up nursing their massive sunburns. Hopefully Y/N can put up with theirwhining.
Jongin, Jun-ha, and I are sitting in the living room, watching tv. Jun-ha is coloring a picture of what appears to be a dog and often gets up to show us his progress. I glance over at Jongin, seeing him looking bored. His head nods off as he’s falling asleep. I push him to wake him up and he sits up straight.
“Jongin, let’s go out today. It’s so nice out and I’d hate to waste the entire day inside.” I tell him. He smiles at me and stands up. Jun-ha does the same, having heard everything. They beam excitedly, running into the room. I hear drawers and closet doors open and close. I wait patiently, waiting for an explanation to what they have planned. Usually Jongin will start preparing for something before he’s even positive it’s going to happen.
The two emerge from the bedroom holding up their swim trunks. I raise an eyebrow at them while they grin at me.
“Care to explain?” I ask after a few moments of silence.
“Let’s go to the beach!” Jongin suggests, sounding like a schoolgirl who just got asked out.
“Please, Mommy!” Jun-ha begs. He smiles his best smile. I smile back and roll my eyes.
“I’ll pack the snacks.” I say, moving from my spot. Jongin and Jun-ha start dancing around, excitedly. I giggle as I go to get ready.

The car ride to the beach is filled with singing and laughter. I look back to and see Jun-ah looking happy as can be. He kicks his legs in his car seat while he sings along to the kids radio. Jongin and I sing with him, making him giggle.
We arrive at the beach in a flash. Jongin unloads the car while I unbuckle Jun-ah. When I put him on the sand, he runs back to the car, looking for something.
“What is it, Jun-ah?” I ask as he moves his toys around. He jumps back out and holds up his tiny pair of sunglasses. I giggle at him, kissing his head. He makes his way over to the beach towel that Jongin set up. Jun-ah removes his sandals and his shirt. He starts running towards the tide, but is stopped by Jongin picking him up.
“Where do you think you’re going, mister?” He asks Jun-ah. He puts him down to strap on his life vest.
“Am I ready now, Daddy?” He asks, bundling with excitement. Right as Jongin is about to say yes, I interrupt them.
“Not yet. You guys haven’t applied sunscreen yet.” I tell them, applying some to myself.
“Aw, come on, Y/N. We don’t need sunscreen, it’s only for sensitive people. And we’re strong, aren’t we Jun-ah?” He asks, his son nodding enthusiastically.
“Fine, go have fun.” I say, sitting in my beach chair. They giggle as they run towards the water. I watch them play with each other, relaxing in the summer heat. Jun-ah squeals with laughter as he swims the best he can. He and Jongin are hit with wave after wave. They wave at me as I watch them with a smile on my face. I wave back.
After a while, they get out of the water and start building a sandcastle. The tide washes it away a few times and I laugh, getting up to help them. We grab the plastic pails and shovels, creating our tiny castle. When we’ve finished, Jun-ah excitedly stabs the flag into the top. I take a few pictures of them next to our masterpiece.
“Okay, guys, time for lunch.” I say, opening our cooler and pulling out our sandwiches.
“Thank you, Mommy!” Jun-ah says, accepting his sandwich.
“Yes, thank you, Mommy.” Jongin kisses my cheek, grabbing his sandwich as well. I smile at them, taking a bite out of my food. As we eat, Jun-ah rubs his arms and winces.
“Mommy, my skin hurts.” He tells me. I look and see that he’s red all over. Both of them are.
“What did I say?” I ask smiling at them while they squirm in their burnt skin.
“Y/N, it really hurts.” Jongin whines. “Do you have any aloe vera?”
“Nope, I only brought sunscreen, didn’t think we’d need aloe because we’d have sunscreen on us. But you insisted you didn’t need it.” I say sarcastically. I laugh at Jongin’s shiny red skin.
“Come on, Y/N! It hurts.”
“Mommyyyy!” Jun-ah joins in.
“Fine.” I give in, grabbing the bottle of aloe I had prepared and smearing some on their burns. “Now, what did we learn?” I ask.
“Always wear sunscreen?” Jun-ah guesses. I smirk at him.
“Mommy is always right.” I correct.
“Oh, yes, she is.” Jongin agreed, kissing me.
“Ewww!” Jun-ah screams in childish disgust.
