we know each other as intimately as lovers yet after this year we will move to different states and forget to call to check in. until we are so far out of reach that we can’t even remember who we needed to call in the first place.

I have heard it said we are the uninvited.

We are the unwelcome.

We should take our misfortune elsewhere.
