I can't believe that I actually spent my time on this. No regrets, though.
A little bit of explanatory: Selene grew up in the woods in isolation, first time she has seen a horse she was already an adult and it scared the hell out of her. Normally she isn't skittish, but obscurity frightens her. Selene knows what to expect from predators like wolves or bears. It's not a big deal, she fights them since age 8. But a H O R S E??? Scary. She knows nothing about horses. Do they have fangs? Do they eat people? How heavy are they? How intelligent are they? Can they crush a person? She might know the answers now but still shakes like a leaf then sees a horse. I headcanon that after the blight Loghain gave Selene a few riding lessons and eventually her fear would disappear. Moreover, a white - gray mare, which was presented to Selene by Queen Anora, has become a real friend to her. Surana often would have found herself in the stables talking to a mare or sometimes even crying in her presence. It's hard for her to talk about feelings with other people because she doesn't want anybody to think she is weak, but animals are different, they won't judge. At the end of the day Selene opens up and talks freely, thanks to the creature she called "ugly" at their first meeting.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk I just love my antisocial daughter very much okay???
Also I want to apologise to everyone who had to read this. I know my English sucks, I would really appreciate if you corrected my mistakes.

I'm so disappointed in Dragon Age fandom. Bioware gave us Loghain Mac Tir, and ridiculously few of us said "damn, can I fuck him?". We do not deserve salvation. We're doomed.

Someone had to do it

If no one is going to make content with this god tier ship, I'll do that myself. Yep, that was a threat.
Gift for a friend of mine, Mahariel doesn't belong to me.

Old art I forgot to post here. My warden Selene Surana and her husband, Loghain
Loghain Mac Tir
"You destroy everything you touch."

For me, Loghain is definitely one of the most complex and well-written characters in DA series.
I always thought this too! Although I figured it was less of a "he let them in" scenario and more of a "he found that big hole in the floor and just set guards and didn't tell anyone" situation
If it hadn't been our two main grey wardens fighting their way up the tower the battle would have ended up being fought on two fronts too! It would have been even more impossible for the king's forces to win trapped between two forces of darkspawn like that. And it would have added credibility to Loghain's claim that the grey wardens betrayed Fereldan, since shouldn't they have been able to sense the darkspawn coming from the tower?
In order to believe Loghain doesn't know about Ishal, I have to believe 1 of 3 things:
1) Loghain was guarding the tower, but for some unknown reason in a camp where they're sleeping in tents nobody ever thought to go inside
2) Loghain's people did go inside, but just didn't notice??? the giant hole in the floor leading all the way to the deep roads?????
Or 3) the darkspawn built this giant tunnel literally overnight

Given every interaction we have with Loghain prior to this point, ESPECIALLY the council meeting? I absolutely think he knew.
people's different interpretations of loghain are so interesting. i, for example, always thought he let the darkspawn into the tower of ishal and sabotaged the wardens/ostagar armies from the start. i think that the beacon was never supposed to have been lit in the first place, to give him plausible deniability for why he didn't join the battlefield.
