CAS: (Oh NOW you're a fucking optimist, Dean?)
I love me some whump, always, but this particular whumping made me want it to stop. They hit my maximum depth for wallowing, pulled out the plug, and washed my little angst-loving heart down the drain. (And then Cas started frothing black at the mouth and I couldn't even look.)
Supernatural out-whumped me. The only time I've been beaten in 40 years of devoting myself lovingly to the trope. Nym averted her gaze, (then had to rewind cuz she missed Crowley being glorious about solving the problem).
The whole idea of Michael creating - or even just bearing - a weapon capable of inflicting this slow, agonising death on another angel, while quickly dispatching demons, rocked my socks. A dignified and painless immolation isn't good enough for your own brother? He has to rot from the inside in unspeakable agony on his way out? Michael needs the most therapy for thinking of this. (Adam probably counts though. Got his head screwed on, that one.)
