Linked Universe Wind - Tumblr Posts

This is for @bunnynotravioli, so sorry it took so long :(
I think I'm going to draw my own design for all the Links, because Wind turned out pretty good! I think boys should start wearing flowers in their hair more often, it looks cute 🥰
I feel like Link would get sunburnt too easily, so he needs to wear thin, loose clothes to protect from the sun. Meanwhile, Ravio's got the nice pirate tan like Tetra (he's so cute!)
Which Link is most likely to think they’re an expert after watching a single Youtube video?

Wind >:3
I had a feeling I was never gonna get around to coloring this, so take the messy notebook sketch (it's just as beautiful, after all)
Also I think there should be more shaved Wars fan art. I think it would be funny.

He’s my little Skinkle Dink

It's official. I've fallen into fandom hell. Asked my sister to draw the baby for me. I love it so, so much. 🥰

Cuddles [Wind + Father Figure]
More self-indulgent trash for the pile.

Surprisingly, it takes longer for Wind to approach a male figure with the intention of cuddling than a female. With how quickly he warmed up to the Chain you'd assume he'd take to another potential brother (father) figure far easier.
However, the Chain are his brothers in spirit, connected by purpose and the blessing of the Goddesses: something arguably even stronger than precious blood. You, on the other hand, are a stranger to him.
It does not work in your favor that he has had very little in the way of adult men in his life. Partners in crime at the best of times, but mostly background characters to fill out the space between evil induced trauma. Nothing concrete though. Nothing that's ever stayed.
The breakthrough will likely be once you take the first step. Perhaps you gently wake him while he's having a nightmare, perhaps you take inititive to comfort him after an especially tough battle. Something that marks you as safe in his mind, someone he can rely on.
It is nothing against you personally. Hyrulians are a people heavily seeped in warrior culture (Wind's being no exception). Progressive as they seem to be overall, that does not completely negate their views of gender. One of those being that men are less likely to take an interest in children not their own blood.
And, at the worst of times, it is simply accepted that unknown men are dangerous. The timelines are rife with civil wars and the atrocities that arise from such unrest. Hyrulian males (whose biology make them physically stronger than their female counterparts) are often front and center to these happenings. Being from a Hyrule that adheres to Pirate culture, Wind understands this on some level even if he's never experienced it himself.
None of this matters anymore though because you have proved yourself as safe. You are now free real estate.
It'll start slow. He'll move his bedroll closer to yours, testing the waters and eyeing you curiously when he thinks you aren't looking. He'll observe your posture, your tone, how receptive you are to being disturbed from your sleep.
Honestly, he's not as sneaky as he thinks he is. He's got quick hands and is good with his words when cornered, but he's never been especially good at hiding his curiosity. That being said, if you address him directly with patience and openness, the process will be much quicker.
By as soon as the third night, Wind can have his bedroll flush against yours. By the week, you may return one night after patrolling to find a fluffy head of blonde hair laid on your pillow. Not that he meant to steal your spot, he'd just been so tired and the pillow had smelt so familiar. It'd made him feel so safe.
(A reminder of the man who'd been ripped from his life too soon. Whose strong musk had lingered on too big clothes and too cold bedding for weeks after.)
If you move him gently to one side and curl yourself protectively around his soft, sleeping form, when morning comes you will be met with an wide, hopeful expression. You will find his small hands wrapped warmly around one of yours. His ears pinned back uncertainly, eyes searching for disapproval or anger.
Tell him good morning, ruffle his feather soft hair and Wind will not leave your side for the rest of the day.
"Sorry 'bout that Mister! I was just resting my eyes! Promise!"
When time for sleep comes again he will stand by your bedroll, hands clenched in his shirt and eyes hopeful. He will wait for your approval because he doesn't know how to ask for this kind of familial affection from a man not bound to him by destiny.
Wind has a grandmother and a sister, both females. He has 7 brothers and a pseudo-father in Time, ordained by the Goddesses themselves.
Split between several traumatized young adults and divine duty, it's hard to give enough attention to any one boy. Even for someone like Time (especially for someone like Time).
This will be the first time that Wind approaches another male. Not as a hero or a brother or a spiritual part of a whole, but as Wind. A hurt, scared young boy with too much weight on his shoulders for all that Time tries to halve the burden.
"H-Hey, Mister! It's kinda cold tonight! Ya mind sharin'?"
If you accept, you have now become dad number two of the chain and all that entails. Congratulations and prepare yourself because Time will expect your full cooperation in wrangling his pack of gremlins (Man is tired. He needs a break). Chief among them, Wind. Now officially, but unofficially, your problem.
Also, your bedroll no longer your bedroll.
"I'll set up the bedroll, Mister! Make sure to grab bread for me or 'Rulie'll eat it all!"
It becomes an 'our bedroll' type of situation.
"No take backs! You agreed!"
Despite what you'd expect from a boy like Wind, with a father figure he's surprisingly passive. He'll hide his face in your shoulder, cheeks and nose pressed against your neck or tucked up under your chin. His fist will softly clutch at your sleep shirt, but he won't grab at you as he would a mother figure. Instead, he waits to be held. He wants to be reassured.
You see, whereas with a woman he expects comfort, with a man he's seeking safety. That security that had been stripped from him too young and left him to fill the role of protector in place of a man with shoes too big for a young boy.
Subconsciously, he's slotted you into that role. The protector. It doesn't matter how strong you actually are, this sense of safety he experiences from being coddled in your arms is instinctual (though if you're on the bigger side, muscle or otherwise, it'll intensify that feeling).
As a side note, the first time you actually hold him may give you pause. He is a small child, body spindly in the way only a potent cocktail of adolescence, malnutrition and prolonged neglect can produce (for all the Wild has been putting his best foot forward). It can be compared to cradling a baby bird in your hands, small and fragile warmth nearly weightless in your grasp.
"I ain't got bird's bones! I'm just growin' at my own pace, is all!"
One last thing. He's going to cry. It won't be often and it might not be much, but with the newfound feeling of security pulling so strongly at his repressed trauma it's inevitable.
How you respond will mean everything to him. You're his brother (father- protector) now. Of course you'll teach him how a man should act.
"I ain't gonna cry! The smoke's jus' in my eyes! I- Wh-why ya looking at me like that. Hey! Ya can't jus' hug a guy like that without warning! O-o-or he'll... he'll..."
(P.S. If you have have facial hair, he'll pull it. Just saying. You have been duly warned.)

Cuddling [Wind + Mother Figure]
Some self indulgent drabbling. Just dipping my toes in the water.
Character: Wind (Linked Universe)

Let it be known here and now, this boy is absolutely not afraid to put his hands and face in places that would have the older heroes speechless in mortification. Being as young and as accustomed as he is to cuddling his own sister and grandmother, a woman's body has no significance to him beyond the comfort it brings.
He definitely wants to be encased in your embrace, his arms pinned between your bodies and his face squished right up into the soft valley between your breasts or under your chin. To him, who lost his parents too young, there is no greater comfort than to have his body molded into the soft form of a motherly figure.
He loves his grandmother and sister's familial touch, but it's not the same. His grandmother is older now, small, bent and unable to soften her aching body to fully embrace the young man while at rest. His sister is the one who seeks comfort, and while he'd never trade her sweet, adoring hugs for anything, it is for her benefit more than himself.
Unlike the majority of the older Links, who need time and sometimes encouragement to get comfortable with a female companion, Wind has no such quams. To him you are a soft and pure being and his childish heart is more than happy to bask in your undivided attention and feminine presence.
Even as quickly as your first night with the Chain Wind will likely sleep close by, peeking at you curiously from over the covers. If you happen to be the obvious motherly type, he may even be tempted to ask to share a bedroll while you're settling down.
"For warmth, of course! It ain't as warm here as on the seas!"
Just be warned, once permission is given there is no way to take it back without a severe loss of trust and a tense, heartbroken silence that could stretch for days. For all he is bright and hopeful and mature for his age, he is still a traumatized boy who experienced far too much too quickly. By accepting him into your comforting embrace (whether you were aware or not) you accepted the responsibility of patching the mother-shaped hole in his heart.
However, that is not to say you can't have a night or two to yourself if you need or want it. Just talk to the boy, let him know why he can't sleep with you that night. That's all he really needs. He's not unreasonable, and he understands needing space now and then. Just don't cast him out without an explanation to wonder what he did wrong.
As a small detail, Wind smells very strongly of salt. When he pushes his face into your collarbone and latches his small (but strong) fingers into your shirt, you're going to get a very strong dose of it right to your senses. It's especially prominent in his hair, and no amount of scrubbing will ever rid him of it.
If it's a smell you don't enjoy and you end up telling him as such before realizing it's something he can't control (it's not just sweat), please apologize and let him know that it's okay. He may grin and laugh it off as being something a "Land-lover" can't appreciate, but the boy will scrub his scalp raw trying to wash the smell away.
It may be a part of him, of who he is, but what child doesn't want their parent's approval. What's a few more washes in the face of the comfort (and love) you offer him so freely? What's a little blood after a thorough scrub?
"It ain't nothin'! Just slipped on a rock, is all! A few bumps to the head ain't gonna hurt nobody!"
Also, try not to get offended when he grabs your squishiest bits while asleep if you're sensitive to that (that goes double if you're on the bigger side). Under the arms, love handles, tummy, waist, it's all free game to his sleepy grasp. Occasionally, you may even find him dozing off kneading his fingers into any fat deposits that happen to be within reach.
This behavior isn't a snub at you, and it's not meant to make you uncomfortable. He's just naturally inclined to dig his fingers into the softness inherent in your feminine body.
"You feel like a mom should, ya know? Not that ya gotta be a mom or anythin'!"
And one last thing. He's a possessive little gremlin once he's laid claim to your bedroll. Occasionally, he may be convinced to share your warmth with some of his brothers, but it will not be without some heavy pouting. Perhaps it's the pirate in him, or just the onery child determined to cement his place as the (mother's) favorite, but he will absolutely play the dragon to your princess.
"First come, first serve! I don't make the rules! I'm just faster than ya land-lovin' lot! Ain't that right ma! I-I mean ma'am! Ain't that right ma'am!"

Contribution to the Fandom complete. I return to the shadows to lurk and recharge now.
"Heads up!" a voice yelled, causing all eight of them to look up towards the cloaked figure in a tree. An arrow embedded itself between a bokoblin's eyes, effectively killing it. The mysterious hylian then jumped down, landing on another bokoblin, crushing it, and immediately moved to engulf a moblin in flames. In less than a minute, the remaining monsters were all dead.
This was the first hylian they'd seen since arriving in this desolate Hyrule.
"Y’all good? No injuries?" Closer up they could see a freckled nose and a small grin, but the shadow of the cloak’s hood covered the strangers eyes.
"Other than a few bruises and scrapes, nope." Time answered for the group.
"Neat. Have some chunks- just in case." the stranger said, tossing a bag over to him. "Crush them in your hand and sprinkle it over injuries. Or just eat 'em. Whichever is easier." Having said that, he turned and left to pluck his arrow from the bokoblin.
"Hey wait, what's your name? Where's the nearest town? We haven't seen anyone for ages!" Wind rushed to get it all out before the stranger could leave. He turned around, putting the arrow back in his quiver.
"The name's Fay. And I think the nearest town is about two days to the south."
~
Link, who goes by Fay nowadays, would very much like to go home, re-bandage his leg, and go to sleep. Alas, sleep is unavailable, as he needs to stop the deaths of some odd travelers who somehow have no clue where they are. Isn't it common sense to only go on these types of roads if you’re well prepared and know what you're doing? Apparently not.
He finally shook them off after giving directions to the nearest town and heading in the opposite direction. Or so he thought…
Three days later, he came across another monster camp. That wasn’t unusual. The monsters were a bit tougher and had black blood. That was unusual. Fay defeated them all the same with a sword, fire, and some lightning.
Which was when the odd group showed up. Again.
"Hello again! I thought you went a different direction than us." the white-caped one spoke up.
"You weren't following us, were you?" the blue-scarved one asked with narrowed eyes.
Fay flicked the black blood off his sword before sheathing it. It seemed to catch the attention of quite a few. "I was, but now I'm here. I’m a traveler.”
The one with a wolf’s pelt blinked, processing that, then glanced at the one with one eye. “We went to the village, but they wouldn't let us in. Something about eyes?”
Fay shrugged, “It happens. People are often spread thin on resources and wary of newcomers. The eyes of Ganon are everywhere after all.”
Before any of them could reply he tilted his head, starting to feel a strange tug on his magic. A dark purple and black portal opened beneath their feet, slurping them all up.

Chunks/ කෑලි (kǣli): crystalized fairy dust. It has a similar Mohs to chalk. The fairies don't have to leave their fountains spending days in a bottle, and hylians don't have to spare precious resources. "Why can't you just eat the chunks? Isn't that the obviously easier option?" you may ask. Well, if you eat the chunk, the effect will be equally spread about. The chunk doesn't know what the fuck you want it to do. if you crush and sprinkle it over an injury, the effects will be stronger and targeted to that one area.

the thing this somewhat goes with but you don't have to read: FaeHyrule-1

♤♡♧◇ This is part two of FaeHyrule-1. Please read that before this. Or don't. ♤♡♧◇
“Ew. Sticky.” The voice of Fay drifted like an omen after being suddenly dropped like a hot potato into another Hyrule.
“Huh?” came the ever so elegant response.
It was weird a non-link was portaled with them. This never happened before.
A moment of confused and awkward silence passed before clarification came. "The surrounding magic: it’s sticky."
This was the answer to the question verbalized, but not the one they all had. Ordon stretched on around them, the eerie lull of night settling in on the heroes.
Twilight began to move and the others followed. All except Fay, who vanished without a sound before they could do a head count.
~
After setting up camp, Fay emerged. He looked slightly uncomfortable as he brushed off seemingly nothing from his tunic and pants and slowly sat to a croutch.
“I suppose it makes sense that you feel so sticky now.” Fay commented, staring right at Twilight.
“Umm… What?”
“What do you mean he feels sticky?” Legend inquired, “If anything I’d say he feels dusty from all the dirt and that pelt, but not sticky.”
“It's the magic. In the air, the ground, the plants, even in Twilight himself. It feels sticky and seems to leave a bit of residue on whatever it touches. It almost feels like eating too much කැරමල් … err, caramel…?”
Wild looked up from his boiling pot at whatever language seemed to resonate and ring in Legend’s head. Four tilted his head with a gleam in his eyes, and Time might’ve reacted based on a small twitch of his hand, but none of the others seemed to react.
“So, “ Fay spoke once more, “Can I have your names? And a possible explanation for this… kerfuffle?”
The chain all looked at each other, then zeroed in on Sky. To his credit, said hero did nothing but blink.
“Oh! Yes, of course! I’m Sky, that's Time, Twilight, Wild, Warriors, Legend, Four and Wind” Sky introduced, pointing to each as he said their names.
Fay expected the tethers of given names, that small twist of magic emulating small candlelights of lifeforce, indicating he now held a thread connected to that person’s existence. What he didn’t expect was how bright and strong the flames would be, not that he'd do anything with them.
“Although, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to tell you those are just nicknames.”
Fay hummed in interest, wondering what made nicknames so powerful, and turned to fully face Sky. The other brought his fancy sword from beside him and onto his lap.
“We’re actually all named Link, “ Sky continued, “Reincarnations of the hero’s spirit from across time. We all fought to save our lands, some of us more than once, but this is the first time we’re doing it as a group. Our current theory as to why we were all gathered is because Hylia needs us all to fight off some big, horrible evil. Though the only evidence we’ve got of that evil are the black-blooded monsters.” Sky seemed saddened by their lack of progress, but tried to hide it with a pleasant topic change.
“Enough about us, care to share anything interesting about yourself?”
Fay hummed, “Well I suppose it's only fair if we trade. I was also originally called Link. I do prefer Fay though. It’s been my name since I met Pond mother. Link never really quite fit.”
“Umm, ” Sky stammers, not sure what, if anything, to say to that. “Okay,” he settles for, the word coming out a bit hollow-sounding.
“So why Fay?” Wind, ever the conversationalist, steamrolls on through the others’ momentary social glitch.
“It’s easier to slip under the radar with. I don’t remember much being Link but sacred sunlight above do you know how worked up people got when they would hear my name? It’s like no one could decide whether I was a plague personified sent by their demons or a god of life that came to rid the world of all inconveniences.”
“Rude” sniffs Wind in a comical and overdramatic charade. Though with a blink, Wind’s face fell into shock.
“Wait! Link!? You’re a Link! Holy fuck no wonder!”
A small, pitiful “language…” came from Twilight. His voice was snuffed out by Wind’s jubilated rambling, though a snort and a couple huffs let him know he was, in fact, heard.
“So I’m guessing we don’t need the whole Fi ceremony?” Warriors joked.
“Good thing too, ” Sky said back in a more exasperated tone than Warriors would expect, “‘Cuz his hero title is Hero of Hyrule and I think that’s just a disaster waiting to happen.”
♤♡♧◇ Plot? What plot? I was supposed to have one of those? And be consistent? Huh? Anywho, my focus is on Hyrule being a fae, not a cohesive world. Juggling all nine of ‘em is hard, blink and you'll miss it time and four. Note: Fae language is google translated Sinhala, it's not accurate or exact in what I want to say. Sorry, it's just pretty. ♤♡♧◇ Kudos to my sister who beta read and helped me get words outa my brain. <3
Look, I know we all love Time being a dad/mentor to Twilight, but consider: Time being a dad to Wind. Time mentoring Wind. Heck, just give me an AU where the hero of time wakes up on outset island and becomes the hero of Wind's father figure.
Image when Aryel got kidnapped the hero of time dragging out all of his old gear and setting out with the hero of winds. Imagine the hero of time seeing Ganondorf and just groaning "oh not this sh*t again".
Imagine the hero of time telling Ganondorf and the king of red lions that they're both idiots.
Imagine the hero of time using the feirce diety's mask while defending the hero of winds.

I just finished another art trade with the awesome @thetoyboxs and I'm quite happy with it. I drew her OC Ashlyn and the best wimdy boi, Wind! She asked if I could do something a bit more angst-y, and I did so gladly lol - dunno what happened to the poor things but I think they've been running for a while.

The line between a dream and reality can be so surreal sometimes.. Where Legend's mind is constantly convincing him that the adventure of LU didn't happen and was just another product of his own head. He has proof that it was real, tries to write, draw, do everything to remember them, but it just won't feel right.. Characters from @linkeduniverse_au
Linked Universe- Wind HC/Ideas
Ok these are headcanons or abilities I can up about Wind from linked universe or the game. This will probably be written messy because it 30 minutes till New Years when I’m writing this.
I think Wind should be able to stand on clouds. Idk where I got this idea but I was watching RTgamings wind waker video and I saw one of the frog wind gods ( zehpos and the red one forgot his name). And I was like why can’t wind stand on clouds. If I had more modivation to write stories i would make a story about the chain in sky loft and some how Wind get knocked off one of the islands. Can the rest of the chain panics and try to dive after him but they can’t find him and assume that he must have fallen to the surface. But after a while of searching the surface ground looking for some remains of his body they make their way back to sky loft. But as they are flying back on loft wings they fly by some clouds and just hear Wind cursing up a storm trying to get their attention. Wind is stuck on a patch of clouds that stoped his fall and just is stranded there. There would probably be a moment of relief and happiness once the chain sees that he is fine but then absolute confusion on how he is able to do that.
Another ability would be that he can make clouds. I’m think after Wind starts to learn to cloud walk he somehow learns how to make them(probably with help from the wind god brother) I like to think this power would be like Shirakomo Oboro’s (sorry bad spelling) form BNHA where he can also allow others to ride his clouds. Imagine instead of wind having hammocks because of him being a pirate he can make cloud beds for others to sleep on. I feel like he might have a magic limit for how many he could carry for amount of time but he could make a cloud carry a single person for a longer amount. Like letting an injured member rest on one while still being able to travel.(I have many more head cannons for this)
Wind is gifted a conch shell so he can listen to the waves. Ok this sound weird but I was think of a story about how homesick Wind is because of being away from the ocean. He is used to the sound of the waves when he goes to sleep. But after some severe home sickness one of the chain members gets a hold of a conch shell and gift it to wind. Here’s the thing about conch shells, when you hold it up to your ear you can hear the sounds of waves. I feel like this would be a major comfort to Wind and he will hold the shell by his ears the hear the wave sound when he is trying to sleep.
Wind is just an air bender if he is a wind mage. I think wind should be able to fly and take the air from people lung like that one evil air bender form tlok but only when he is very emotional or mad. He just goes ape shit after one of the chain members gets hurt and starts to suffocate the monster around him. Another air being ablility that would be cool for wind to have is always having the wind behind his back. Like Wind is a small teen and compared to some of the monster he is fighting he doesn’t have enough strength. So he can some time direct the wind to help push monster back or even push him forward and help him speed up. I also think he can do big high jumps if the wind pushes him up ward
Ok so this is it I have a few more but am lazy and want to play Minecraft. Probably will make a part 2 explaining more of the stories explain the headcannons more or writing more headcannons I have.
