My favorite fighting game is rivals school. The character who made possible to meet my boyfriend (Almost husband at this point?) and my favorite one from Capcom.
3.- Maximillian Genius.
We're looking a pattern here, didn't? But yeah, I also love Hikaru Ichijo, but Max presence in Macross is longer, and just like Hal, I love him more in his older days.
4.- Alastair "Stear" Cornwell
Another man with glasses? Yup. And I think he was the first one I saw. He is so cute and funny. A perfect little nerd, but please, can I skip his lore so as not to remind you of the pain?
5.- Cho Hakkai:
Yup. Another man with glasses, with a tragic past, with a protective nature… and a green/ivory color setting like Hal...
6.- Kousuke Tsukimori (Derek Stiles)
Man with vision problems, and he is a doctor... so protective behavior again...
7.- Goro Majima:
Man with vision problems and paternal/protective behavior...
8.- Jean Pierre Polnareff...
But I have some exceptions....

Protective behavior. The one who opened Juri's eyes. (and god how I love Juri and Anthy)

When I first saw it back when I was young, this was some of the coolest art I had ever seen. Nice to know it still holds up (particularly the dinobots fighting the insecticons - IN SPACE- in the first one, although Optimus obviously started working out following his appearance in that second picture :D )
The first and third pictures above were painted by Jeffrey Mangiat, the second one by David Schleinkofer, and I've done some digging but unfortunately can't confirm who painted the last one.
Regarding the Valkyrie, it's there because it was a redeco (recolour) of a licenced Macross toy made by Takatoku toys, purchased by Bandai after they went under in 1984 and licenced to Hasbro to include in the Transformers line around 1985 (as at the time Bandai didn't have a big presence in the Americas, so it was easier for them to licence their moulds to other companies).
Of course, there were inevitably licencing issues as time went on, so Jetfire (the toy) was renamed to Skyfire in the original comics/animated series, and heavily restyled!

I was reminded of the picture from Macross Frontier of Klan (Zentraedi) and Michel playing together as kids. I wonder how Michel survived his childhood considering Zentraedi are a giant warrior race X3 Kinda a pity what they actually did with the Klan Klang character though :/ BONUS Image of her as an adult in Zentraedi size:

One of the few time they actually remembered what scale the characters were to each other. Zentraedi are around 10m tall.
