Fortress Maximus redesign!! I've loved doing these recently, though I hate figuring out colour schemes so if anyone has any advice I'd love to hear nwn

I wanted a lot of angel/knight imagery to contrast with the tortured persona - a bit of a central-Europe theme with auroch horns, medieval knight helm (frogsmouth nyehe), gun-wings and of course the tank

Overlord x Fortress Maximus

Pain.

That's all Fortress Maximus could comprehend. All he could feel. His intake was like a desert with dried energon sticking to his glossa and denta. The worst part was knowing it was his own fuel coming up into his intake after... That-that bastard ruptured something internal.

Fort Max turned his helm minutely the flickering of the lights above making his processor and optics hurt mlre then they already did. He offlined his optics, hair thin fractures running up through the lenses making everything seem broken.

Fort Max took the what little time in between his visits with Overlord to catch his vents, letting himself relish in the quiet buzzing of the lights overhead and the rattling of his own broken organs and framw echo through the room.

It was so much more preferable then that damn taunting in his audio as the crunch of metal and his rasping screams filling the room. If only he could have just a little bit more time-

"Ah, my favorite mech. How are you holding up?"

Fort Max managed a gulp as he onlined his fractured optics.

The two gleaming red optics stood in the middle of a white bright light. Overlord's black silhouette blocking out the light from hitting Fort Max's face. His fists on hai hips and helm tilted to the side, blood red optics lighting up his face and wide smirk.

"Or are you ready to have more... Fun?"

Fort Max rasped and let his frame go limp as the silhouette fell upon him.

they messed up the file so its kind of trashy in closer look. I’ll make it either a freebie or charge rly low price orz

When I first saw it back when I was young, this was some of the coolest art I had ever seen. Nice to know it still holds up (particularly the dinobots fighting the insecticons - IN SPACE- in the first one, although Optimus obviously started working out following his appearance in that second picture :D )

The first and third pictures above were painted by Jeffrey Mangiat, the second one by David Schleinkofer, and I've done some digging but unfortunately can't confirm who painted the last one.

Regarding the Valkyrie, it's there because it was a redeco (recolour) of a licenced Macross toy made by Takatoku toys, purchased by Bandai after they went under in 1984 and licenced to Hasbro to include in the Transformers line around 1985 (as at the time Bandai didn't have a big presence in the Americas, so it was easier for them to licence their moulds to other companies).

Of course, there were inevitably licencing issues as time went on, so Jetfire (the toy) was renamed to Skyfire in the original comics/animated series, and heavily restyled!

Having seen one in person, genuinely one of the coolest toys I've never owned!

I can't explain how or why but this very intensely strikes me as something Fortress Maximus would do.

thinking about an absolutely massive bot somehow winding up on earth, not knowing where they are, but seeing the Statue of Liberty and scanning the amounts of copper and thinking it must be another bot. But the bot leans up against the statue like “heyyyyy babe that copper sulfate’s a nice color on ya. ya come here often? If you could help a bot out and tell him what planet he’s on… heh, musta’ had a trip so bad I landed in the wrong sector.”

Obviously the statue doesn’t respond, and he raises a brow. “That’s fine, that’s fine! Not the talkative type, I getcha. I’ll just, uh… look around. Thanks.” He starts wading through the ankle height-water, thinking it may be a good idea to get to land. Now it’s just a matter of if he’ll notice the organic lifeforms on the mainland…

This panel of Rung comforting a PTSD ridden Fort Max always makes me cry. Rung is too good for the world.
