“I told you, dear, you need to be more cautious when holding fragile objects,” he gently chided as he swept up the broken glass from a bottle.
He wasn’t upset at you. He could never be. But he knew you were, as always. Before you’d been diagnosed, you were such a kind soul, but with each failed treatment and medication refill, you’d grown resentful.
Neither of you were certain how the illness occurred. After all, you’d been born and raised in Liyue, where the possibility of it was slim to none. Maybe you were just that unfortunate.
“I’ll die anyway, so why does it matter?” His movements came to a halt. He looked up at you while you looked up at the ceiling. The soft lights, covered by a thin cloth to ensure it wasn’t too harsh on your eyes. “Why does it matter,” you softly repeated.
“I won’t let that—,” you interrupted his weak attempt at comfort, sitting up with a struggle. Swatting away his attempts at helping you after dropping his broom
“Baizhu, give up already! The meds aren’t doing anything, and I’m getting worse! So just quit with your silly delusions!”
His lips formed a thin line, unsure of how to approach it. You were not wrong. You never were when you yelled at him, with your shortening temper.
“You’re destroying yourself all while trying to fix me. I’d rather you just put me out of my misery.”
His heart sank terribly low. So much that he had to turn away from you. He could not face you when you brought this up. The idea of letting you die, or to do it himself. It never fot any easier to hear.
This sickness has made your body and heart bitter. In ways he cannot comprehend. Oh, how he despises it.

As someone who tends to struggle with her self-esteem, I feel she could appreciate someone who can relate to her on some sort of level.
I feel she’d be very intrigued by your unique sense of style! It’s so peculiar to her, seeing ways of dressing that are unlike her home, but she enjoys it a lot. She’d even allow you to style a couple outfits for her, as long as she can have fun with yours as well.
I believe she’d enjoy a partner on the shorter side, someone who she can hold and struggle with on the vertical level. Although, getting high obejcts can be tricky for the two of you.
Being an introvert is no issue with her in the slightest, as long as you can communicate when something’s too much. She’s capable of speaking up for you, or toning things down if necessary.
She would ask you to teach her how to skateboard just so she can enjoy it with you (even if she freaks out a lot).
Despite her flaws or shortcomings, she can put in effort when needed, and is sure to devote her time and effort into ensuring your comfort!

“You know you can’t be clutching onto me while on the board, correct?” As she scanned your words for any real annoyance or negativity, you tried to take a small step back. What does this action get out of her? Well, it gets you being grabbed like a lifeline.
It’s almost endearing, really. The way she insisted that you teach her the ways around the strange object, the skateboard. In all her years of living in city of Fontaine, known for its technology and advancements, she’d never seen something quite like this.
With her head buried in your shoulder, she brought her head back quickly, “uhm— of course I’m well aware of that! I simply wanted to test you.” You both knew she was lying, trying to save her embarrassment.
As you spent the whole day, slowly trying to get her more comfortable with being on her own, it came to a halt when she got upset. “This isn’t right! I’m supposed to be able to handle such a simple task! As the hydro archon, I—,” she cut herself off.
The dusk sunset highlighted her features, while accentuating the sadness in her eyes and body. Her voice was small in her next words.
“I just wanted to…give us something to bond over. Something more than my ramblings, or my incessant attempts at seeming bigger than I am.”
It hurt to see her crack in her facade due to her own distaste for her actions. “We can try again, Furina. I promise, we can try as many times as you’d like.”
She lifted her head to look at you, “really?” A few tears fell onto her cheeks, and you lifted your hand to wipe them.
“Of course, you’re never a waste of time.”

With her obligations in her life, you should’ve expected that you wouldn’t take priority. Even with her attempts to fill in gaps and plan dates, it wasn’t rare when cancellations would take place due to her inability to attend. She just had too much to do.
So you’d bite your tongue each time one of the Spina’s members would come to you directly and inform you of her absence.
It was as if life had favorites, and you weren’t one of them.
But to tell her, claiming that it’s simply too much to handle. How pathetic would that be? That you can’t handle not being a focus in her already busy and bustling life.
