Male Loneliness - Tumblr Posts
just seen that post about how male loneliness™ is another backlash against feminism and women defending their civil rights, and suddenly remembered that some trans men are getting involved into it too. like it's so infuriating watching them all over the internet posting videos about how lonely is to be a man, about how much they miss being around women, the comfort and emotional support they received from them in their spaces before and during their early stages of transition. and honestly this sounds to me like any other cis male around: i want to emotionally exploit women because other men don't really accept me as one of them and i cannot be as close to them as i was with women.
it's no women's job to be your psychologists. you already have your brothers, you already have a large trans men community, you can always reach another trans men whether online or irl. why do you think we have to be the ones who take care of your wounds? why can't you rely on other trans men?
you are not as emotionally mature as you think you are just because "you were rised by women and society assigned you as one of them". if you are complaining about male loneliness on a tiktok video but you won't move your fucking ass to reach other trans men and start building community, sharing your experiences with them, healing and learning how to be the good man you really want to be... i don't need nor want you in my community, i don't want to build one with you.
Man...
I just watched The Bikeriders and I'll say: I have A LOT to talk about this movie, I might go into one of my rants about it and toxic masculinity and just the overall male need for connection and the struggle against hegemonic culture in capitalism
Plus, there's so much depth in Benny's character and his relationship with Johnny and Kathy, and he barely even appears!!!
And Kathy, I love how unromanticized her story was.
Johnny and his desperation to be what Benny was effortless
The Vietnam War and its impact on a subculture as a demonstration of how deep cultural hegemony and capitalism can affect peoples' lives
It's amazing really
