no but I can kinda see some of the hate but like… it’s ALWAYS abt the river thing. like, in context it makes PERFECT sense why she chose to cross the river. was it a good decision? no. is it completely reasonable in that situation? yes. if ppl would actually use LITERALLY any other reason for the bad mom argument I’d be willing to listen but it’s LITERALLY ALWAYS THE RIVER.
anyway I think Frecklewish was the most innocent of her victims and Appledusk would’ve been a terrible father.

Mapleshade’s story mirrors Bluestar’s…but also technically Graystripe’s. Thunder/River relationships between cats who thought they could have their cakes and eat it too.
Wanna add that’s not an insult to any of the cats I mentioned.
