Some photos of the SS Mount Temple

Whilst researching her involvement the night Titanic went down (looking through Wikipedia out of boredom) I found out that Mount Temple actually arrived on scene shortly after Carpathia and Californian arrived, they asked Carpathia if she could do anything but got no response. Eventually they were told not to remain on standby and to continue to her port of call.

I now have a postcard from the Celtic, with aā¦. Surprising detail

On the back of the card, there is a stamp with the date and time in which the card was stamped

With the date April 15th, 1909.
Exactly 3 years later, Celtic would receive a distress call from the Titanic. The captain warned the wireless operators to keep the news to themselves and to not tell passengers. She was 700 miles away. Too far to help.

God please noā¦..

Also because I forgot yesterday

Yesterday 112 years ago this photo was taken of James Moody. It would be the last time he was ever photographed. He went down with the Titanic only 2 weeks later.
OTD 112 years ago Titanic departed Southampton on her one and only voyage. She made it to Cherbourg several hours later.

OTD 112 years ago:
Titanic left her home for the very last time. She was headed for New York

This photo is believed to be one of if not the last photo taken of the Titanic.
OTD 112 years ago:
RMS Titanic struck an iceberg and began sinking.

At 2:20 AM the following morning, she would go down, taking the lives of 1,496 men, women, and children.

May they never be forgotten.
On this day, 112 years ago:
