Fandom Trumps Hate is On!!!

The distinction being that if I’m not familiar with the fandom I’ll need the bidder to tell me exactly what they want, I cannot just do something inspired by the story, or a fic, because I won’t know the story.

Can you believe we’re almost halfway through the auction already? Time’s flying by, so don’t wait until the last minute to bid! Before you know it, it’ll be 11:59 PM ET on October 27 (what time is that for me?), and Auction Week will be over.
Holidays are around the corner, which means it’s time to start thinking about presents. Fanworks make fantastic gifts either for yourself (as the saying goes, “Treat yo self!”) or for a friend. Maybe you’ve seen your friend mention that they’re longing for a good beta reader or that they’d love to get a certain fic podficced! Maybe you already know that they’d appreciate receiving a gift of their fic translated into their native language… There’s a gift for everyone in this auction, we assure you. Just remember: if you’re setting out to bid on a gift for someone, keep in mind both the creator’s and giftee’s wants and DNWs.
Different ways to commission gifts after winning:
Secretly commission the creator on your friend’s behalf and surprise your friend with the work once it’s done.
Tell your friend what you did and have them commission the creator directly. If you opt for this method, please get in touch with us after you win the auction by emailing marveltrumpshate@gmail.com with your friend’s email and other contact details so that we make sure they can get in touch with their creator.
You can look through our tag list and creator list to see if anything catches your eye for a present for yourself or a friend. We’re also in the process of making up some lists for specific pairings across various Marvel fandoms and sending them out to different comms and Discord servers; if you’re interested in getting one for a Tumblr/LJ/DW comm you mod or a Discord server you’re in, get in touch!

Hey everyone! There is only 2 and a half days left of the @marveltrumpshate Auction. As you probably know, I am one of many creators (all of whom are absolutely amazing, and I am so proud to be a part of this). As all of you who know me will know, I write Tony Stark-centric fic. I am proud to say both of my offers have been bid on, but there are still some out there who don’t have any bids, so be sure to check them out if you want someone’s amazing fanworks. I kind of want to say to come bid on me, but on the other hand... I have bids, and then I’d feel bad towards the people who have already bid on me (but on the other hand, charities... It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for: with much jazz-handsy excitement, we’re announcing the MTH final total!
Together, we raised:
The Marvel fandom rose up magnificently with an outpouring of generosity that impressed us all: 236 “Marvel”-ous creators came forward to offer 354 auctions. 💖🎉 Each and every one of you was instrumental to our success, and we appreciate your contributions so very much. We couldn’t have started this auction without you, and we discovered so many talented creators in the Marvel fandom through it!
We also owe our success to our wonderful bidders and signal boosters. There can’t be an auction without any bidders, and we had hundreds of you intent on winning the auctions you set your hearts on. And signal boosters, there’s no way we could have reached as many creators and bidders as we did without your help.
In addition to the astounding amount of money we were able to raise for charity, MTH was successful in other ways. We strove to be as inclusive as possible, determined to make this event a fandom-wide effort. Considering that the auctions covered over 242 platonic and romantic relationships (if we include “all ships/gen”-inclusive relationships, this number is even higher) in at least 23 fandoms across 19 universes within the Marvel multiverse, we can safely say that we accomplished our goal.
This spirit of inclusion also applies to our auctions and charities. Every single one of our 354 auctions was bid on, and every one of our 30 supported charities received donations. This is a tremendous achievement. We’re in awe of your commitment to supporting all our creators and charities and thrilled that you spread all the love around, bidders!

We’re so touched by the massive number of people who donated above and beyond their pledged amount, creators who took on multiple auctions and offered up multiple winner slots, and bidders who accepted their second-place wins with such eagerness! We were extremely happy and proud of our initial projected sum, but were overcome with emotions as donation after donation came in and the total kept growing. It was remarkable and we often found ourselves at a loss for words (we had to resort to many crying and heart emojis, keyboard bashing, and variations of “omgggggg” in our mod chat).
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for helping us turn our first Marvel Trumps Hate auction into such an incredible experience. We cherish every single message of love and support that we received, and continue to receive, on our Discord server and through DMs, Tumblr messages, emails, Twitter threads, etc. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
