What if Laurance's biological parents were too young to raise him and either abandoned him or lost him. Causing Laurance to still be an 'orphan' in minecraft diaries and allowing Caleb to still be related to him. And then Caleb can appear in season 2- I'd say as a teenager or so in age?

Oooh.... I like that plan, honestly.

And it also feels like a sucker punch to the gut because that would actually suck to learn about your family.

There’s a popular idea floating around in most MCD rewrites at the moment that Laurence’s bio parents had him very young, and thus abandoned him so they didn’t have to raise him. They had Caleb at a much later date.

I’d like to add on that Laurence might have, perhaps as part of an identity crisis after becoming a Shadow Knight, so he attempted to seek out where he came from. Even if it was only to settle a portion of his imposter syndrome..

Considering everything? Not suprised. And I'm almost always down for adding more angst to my favorite character.

So long as he doesn't go alone, I'd be down for Laurance being curious. It may take place in the whole "saving Logan/Meeting Malachi/Pikoro village" arc OR during one of their many season 2 travels.

If he were to go alone, it'd be a season 3 adventure that's almost completely off screen.

Part of me is so offended that other characters didn’t get fun outfits for events like weddings and parties in MCD while Aph did. I vote we change that. Give them outfits. Show them to me. I will admire them to the end of my days. With creator permission, they will be canon to Marigold.

It honestly makes more sense to me.

Around that time, he was beginning to see himself as more and more of a threat, and wanted to take some time so he wouldn't cause harm to his loved ones. But he couldn't just leave Aphria without a guard. Sure, there's Katelyn, but... he knows Katelyn will eventually go off to do other things. He can't leave his lady in the care of someone who won't always be there. Plus he wanted Garroth back, at least to know he's okay.

He knew very well that this would likely lead in his death, and he actually... preferred it that way? He'd rather die than lose his mind, after all. Everyone would be safer that way.

Laurance kind of sees it all as a big win-win.

They get Garroth back, Zane dies for his crimes, and he's no longer a threat. Truly, the only downside(to him) is that people would be emotionally hurt by his death. But people can recover from that.

This is pretty much his messed up but logical thought process. At least his heart is in the right place.

He certainly didn't expect to come back in the place he hates the most though.

... For the au thing I am making(I'm thinking of calling it "Viceroy Road" or something else involving butterflies), I decided I wanted certain characters from MCD that weren't in Mystreet involved.

And it lead me to this:

Aph is a foster parent. Eventually she just straight up adopts some of them when she can. This includes Levin and Malachi. Others, such as Yip and Lilith Garnet, go off to other families.

Normal things won't permanently kill a Shadow Knight. They usually just respawn in the nether. It takes very specific weapons and/or enchantments to truly kill a Shadow Knight. Usually it takes a few days to respawn, but it varies based off of what the "death" was.

And yes. This does mean their bodies literally vanish from where they were left. And yes it is absolutely terrifying.

Of course, pretty much no one in the overworld knows about this whole thing.

Imagine Laurance's surprise when he wakes up in the nether again after sacrificing himself to save Garroth and kill Zane.

He's pissed, actually, because he literally hates being in the nether. It makes him overly irritable and messes with his head. And that's not even going into the trauma aspect of it all.

Shadow Knights after being trapped in the nether. Expect... it's probably not rats. Do nether rats exist? There may be nether rats... there are nether rats.

What some dynamics between the characters?

Dorian and Zenix were practically father-son and/or brothers with a large age gap in dynamic.

Dante calls Aphria his sister, but they can't agree on who's the older sibling for a while so they say "twins". It isn't until the 15 year timeskip that Dante is officially the older brother and it hurts. I can go on for a while about these two but that's for another time.

Cadenza acts like Aphria's adoring sister-in-law in all circumstances.

Malachi is an overprotective big brother(and son) to his whole family.

Kiki and Brendan also claim Aph as their sister. They will argue with Dante over it.

Aaron and Laurance have a one sided hatred situation. It's not hard to guess with side hates which.

Laurance and Katelyn started off not trusting each other and ended up as besties.

Zoey is Malachi and Levin's second mom.

Sasha and Laurance were best friends that teased and flirted before... they can't stand eachothers presence for long anymore.

Kanna and Nicole consider each other family. I will not be specific here.

Part of me finds it so funny that I’m mostly an MCD tumblr. Before a few weeks ago, it had been years since I had even thought of MCD. I do so much other stuff? That I just haven’t posted. I don’t even know why. Perhaps to not disrupt the stuff I normally post here and make it easier to find things? There honestly no clear explanation.

Anyway, I’ve begun making a Aphverse Au mixed with Miraculous because I started thinking.

And for TWST and OHSHC fans, I’ve been thinking of “If Kaoru Hitachiin was the TWST Mc” so… yeah. there’s also other things. Talk to me about it if you’d like, I’d appreciate it. Just specify what your asking about so I don’t have to guess. I’m very likely to assume it’s about MCD: Marigold if you don’t.

•So incredibly awkward when he firsts arrives. He wants nothing more than to make a good impression, and ends up fumbling on his words.

•The townspeople find him adorable. He's like a sopping wet cat to them.

•He claims he would drop everything for a chance to get revenge on Gene but... slowly but surely Gene stops being such a large priority. He has a family now. He has friends, and responsibilities. Dante, over time, stops letting what Gene did to him control his life.

•I can go on for a while about how similar yet different him and Aphria are. Both of them are from unknown places, with there being no one who remembers them anywhere. Both of them are people who show up and make a large impact. They both grow to be unforgettable, and make new families in place of whatever was lost. The difference? Dante remembers what he's lost. He knows he's from somewhere, knows he has blood relatives. He has something to miss. She doesn't. But they both start anew.

•Most loyal of Aphria's guards, if you don't count the obvious two. And even then, I'm not sure they would sit and wait in the same place for 15 years. He does. They'd move on eventually, or die. He wouldn't. He'd wait. He does wait.

•Accidently makes Naomi(Nekoette) think that Aphria is her aunt.

•Has a firm moral scale.

•Craves validation after years of growing up in his brothers shadow.

•Would rather die than turn his back on Phoenix Drop.

•Levin relies on him a lot after he returns. Does call him "Uncle Dante" in private.

•Regrets that Aphria never got to be there for his wedding.

I have this whole big thing about the Divine Warriors(+Xavier) that I just haven’t typed out yet. There’s other stuff here and there that I’m also working on, but writing is hard. As for Viceroy, I’m figuring out professions and plot. Unfortunately I haven’t had any asks to go off of for the plot though, so we’ll see. <3

Hey, would anyone be upset with me for changing Alina's name in Marigold?? It's forever away anyway, but I honestly feel like I should change it. The name was just there to keep aph and Aaron's "A"-name theme going, which is something Laurance and Aphria don't have. Though I can see Aphria chosing an L-name considering that from her perspective, Laurance is dead and gone. You know. To honor him. That might have been character Aphmau's intentions when naming Alina anyway, to honor her dead dad.

But anyway, yeah. That was it. If anyone has suggestions, just let me know. ♡
